Vintage Oak Hamilton Printer's Cabinet / Antique Letterpress Cabinet
The cabinet has a great detailing on the side and is both warm and industrial. The piece has some minor water damage in the back and is missing a small amount of wood in the rear of the top( pictured) I believe the piece is from the early 1900’s. It has the original metal label plate and one of the drawers has a Hamilton metal pull. There are 24 slots for drawers. But the piece only comes with three. Two drawers are flat printing drawers and one is a letter press drawer that came with the piece but may not have been original. The piece is approximately 23" deep x 22.5" wide x 44" high.

Hello bidders and welcome to my auction. Up for bid we have an Antique letterpress type cabinet. This is an all American piece of fine furniture. I believe this dates back to the late 1920's as I found paperwork in the cabinet from that era. I acquired this cabinet a few months ago. The piece was completely destroyed. The condition was so bad most people would have trashed the piece. There was no way I was letting this piece of art go in the trash. We put around 120 man hours into restoring this piece. A solid oak top, and sides were made for the piece, all 200 tiger oak drawers were sanded down, all 200 pull handles were media blasted, primed and painted. All 400 screws were hand polished one by one. After all this everything got 3 coats of stain. I wanted to keep some parts original so we did not touch the inside of the drawers, they ... moreare all original with a great antique smell to them. As stated before there are a total if 200 drawers in 3 different sizes. The 31 drawers all the way to the left measure 17"w 18"d 3/4" tall. Antique Hamilton Oak 24 Drawer Letterpress Display Cabinet measuring 44 1/2" tall x 36" wide x 24" deep. Fabulous looking piece. In the photos its up on a dolley. It has 24 drawers. Some of the handles are cast and some are metal as shown. Please view all photos for condition. It has a few minor areas as shown that have damage. All drawers are there and many are filled with lead letters. Wood rubber stamps, naughty stamps, work trays, linotype, etc. Used in a print shop in Grand Rapids. Michigan Original and removable top This would make a great museum set! CONDITION Wear and tear from use and age. Very normal.
