Rare Vintage Keen Kutter Oak& Etched Glass Display Case-Antique Knife-Mirror Fantastic Keen Kutter display case with etched glass front. This etched glass is an anomaly. I have done my research. And can’t find anything that refers to Keen Kutter using the“Kutlery” spelling. I am no expert and maybe someone else has some information on this case. The wood case has minor wear and tear like scuffs and scratches, but looks pretty good for its age, and is strong and intact. It has two sliding wood doors that have mirrored sides inside the case. The doors work and slide well. The case is velvet covered on the inside, and is formed to the contours of the display sections. The velvet is worn away in areas, and stained in sections. There are two wooden drawers that slide in underneath. They are sectioned and have great pull knobs. The top glass ... moreis missing, and the two side glass pieces are broken. Despite this, the case is very strong and stable. I believe the case will travel very well. It appears that the glass could be replaced easily, and has previously been held in with wood strips. 19th Century American Federal New York Mahogany Overmantel Mirror Beautiful Rare
Description American Federal Period New York Mahogany three panel overmantle mirror with a wooden spread eagle and garlands with gilded leafs would be a great addition to your home. Circa 1820. And originating in New York this mirror is fresh to the market. This mirror was purchased in 1984 from a antique store in Philadelphia as were numerous other pieces that this client is going to consign to us. This beautiful mirror with beautiful water gilding that has been used to cover the eagle and the decorative foilage has a melted appearance to it. The eagle is carved of wood and with a layer of gezo and the water gild applied as the finish. The primary wood of this mirror is mahogany with pine as the secondary. This mirror does retain the oirignal mirror. This American Federal mirror measures 59" in width. 39 1/2" in height. The eagle ... moremeasures 23" in width, 11" in height on the plinth. Condition The overall condition of this mirror is excellent. There are losses to the water gild. On the lower right corner of the mirror there is about 3/4" of the molding missing(see picture) The overall condition of the eagle is. 8 1/2 out of 10. There is shrinkage to the gesso on the back of the eagle as well as on the garland and leaves. The back of the mirror is pristine with the original panels with great oxidation. Fresh to the market and up for your offer comes this RARE and early 19th Century Chippendale period courting mirror. This courting mirror is in exceptional form and well done. It has a small birch or satin wood line inlay that is complete. There are no major breaks or repairs just one small glued ear located on the lower right side and this is so minor almost not worth the mention. It has a solid mahogany frame with applied flame grain mahogany veneer to the frame of glass. The veneer is great in every way. Just some age cracks that is normal with it's age. The mirror measures 21 3/4" tall and 13 1/4" at it's widest point. The frame opening for the glass is 10 1/8" x 8 1/8"See my other auction listing for more interesting items. Glass, metal, printed paper. Mirror: wood frame made to resemble bamboo, vertical and horizontal members cross at four corners, glass, printed paper. Square frame encloses a panel(mounted in metal) with a Japanese-inspired printed subject. At left edge of front panel is a shaped clasp; at right edge, hinges; on lower edge of panel is a hinged metal foot to prop up panel. Offering a magnificent and rare antique wall mirror. I think this style is called tabernacle: it's beautifully molded with old gilded embellishments and gilding throughout. The central piece is actually an oil on canvas and may predate the mirror by a large amount of time. It's a pastoral scene. Mountains, trees, a small manse with a tower and cows in the field. Quite a lovely painting with some warping, craquelure and a small chip(see photos) The front is painted an old creamy yellow(more ivory) The mirror looks original and remains in fine shape. The back isn't so pretty but is stable and has the benefit of a bit of beautiful deco paper remaining as a backing. Simple wire hanger. A VERY RARE Find! One of a kind! This Miniature Antique Mirror depicts a maple leaf in the bottom corner. That tells this is a drawing of the 1st snowfall, and snowball fight, around the turn of the century between the late 1800's to the early 1900's. It is ink etched on canvas applied to tin. It is VERY Intricately detailed, especially for its size, measuring Only 2" tall X 3" wide! It's basically in black and white. The mirror itself has some rust, and normal rust spots here and there, and normal wear from age. This is a very old mirror, and am selling as is! The back of the mirror where the scenery is has some normal wear on the upper right edge and the bottom left corner, and it wraps around the mirror. This would be a great miniature collectible item, or even a great collectible item in general! This is a VERY RARE ... morefind! It is in very used condition. However, for its age, I would say the drawing in in pretty good condition, and very surprised after over 110 years that it doesn't have more damage to it than it does! As the scenery has very minimal damage to it! It Also may, or may not have a signature at the bottom of it. I can't tell, but it kind of looks like it on the bottom towards the right hand side. If it does, I definitely cannot make it out! I will let you be the judge, and even without the signature, it does have the maple leaf signature! Very nice condition. One small spot on the finish on the wood tray is worn. You can see it in the picture. The mirror shows age. Not chipped or cracked. You can see faint blotches that are typical of old mirrors but does not affect looking in it or the appearance.Most of what you see in the mirror is reflection. I believe the base is oak but my husband is away and he usually confirms for me. I know its a hard wood. Not pine. It has a nice brown finish. The Mirror is beveled. It stand just under 12" tall and wide. There is a place to put you cuff links.Tie clips ect. It looks like a Men's Vanity mirror but It looks beautiful on any dresser, even a woman's. You are sighing with delight at the sight of this extremely early celluloid vanity easel mirror. The back reads Pat Jul 9 1895. And a stamp above it reads Celluloid Patented Feb 5 1878. The mirror has a wide bevel, telltale of its age. The mirror is loose and could use solid attachment. The celluloid frame measure 8 inches wide, 9 inches tall. Similar to the one on exhibition in The Brooklyn Museum Dates: Patented April 19. 1887 NY NY Dimensions Approx: Height: 11-1/4" Width closed 10-7/8" Depth open 9 ½" Description: Three-panel folding mirror; wood. Glass, metal, printed paper. Mirror: wood frame made to resemble bamboo, vertical and horizontal members cross at four corners, glass, printed paper. Square frame encloses a panel(mounted in metal) with a Japanese-inspired printed subject. At left edge of front panel is a shaped clasp; at right edge, hinges; on lower edge of panel is a hinged metal foot to prop up panel. The panel next revealed has a Japanese inspired printed subject and a hinged metal foot to prop up panel. Panel hinges open to reveal three beveled mirrors on reverse sides. FABULOUS 19TH CENTURY ENGLISH CHIPPENDALE OVERMANTLE MIRROR With our compliments we are delighted to offer you this fine 19th Century English mahogany Chippendale triple crystal beveled glass over mantle mirror. We would like to take a second to note that these are truly scarce pieces and we haven't seen another one of like quality in over a decade or ever one in this form. This mirror represents the height of decorative arts in formal Chippendale furnishing. The beveled edges of this mirror's crystal panels abutting is simply an awesome effect. It refracts blueish green hues like a diamond. It has a stunning center pierced carved mounted motif of a classic Chippendale sort of Prince of Wales type motif. It has fantastic carved wooden wreaths and floral motifs running all over the place with wonderful top quality gold gilt adorning ... moreall of the carvings and in an incised channel on the mirror. It is further defined by a super gold gilt carved word mirror liner. It has some natural shrinkage. A very small missing piece of the carved garnishments that we defy you to even find. We didn't notice it ourselves until we got it back to the shop. It was treated with kid gloves in its journey back to Massachusetts from New York. With no apology or excuses-find a real Chippendale over mantle mirror. Extremely scarce and comes from an amazing Manhattan home with just nothing but the finest decorative arts and furniture. It is 55 1/4" long and 21" tall. It has lovely old original back panels and we just can't say enough about it. We note a tiny bit of veneer loss on a bottom right section but its truly nothing. Up for auction is this exceptional 19C Walnut and gesso mirror. This is truly a rare find. Mirror measures a large 56 5/8" l x 33 3/8" h x 2" d. It has a three panel wood back. We put a sturdy wire across the back to hang. Of course. This mirror could be mounted either vertical or horizontal. Just an exquisite design with oak leaves and acorns. A stately work of art. Beautiful attention to delicate detail. A rich appearance while being understated. So many large mirrors I have found are either too plain or tend to be- well- a bit garish! This is a nice balance of beauty and great workmanship. As it dates to the 19C, it is not perfect and should not be. The vanity mirror slides open to expose the hidden beveled mirror inside and shuts closed. the face cover of the mirror is of very ornate flowers and a detailed dragon wrapping the edge, they are done in very high relief. the compact box is in the shape of a shell and beautifully ribbed. We are pleased to offer this very rare. Exceptional piece. This offering features a 1950s Spanish Giltwood frame large wall mirror with attached gilt tole lighted wall sconce. This incredible mirror/sconce is marked with the Ferracolor, Made in Spain, metal tag which is still attached to the sconce. This is an exceptionally rare and beautiful piece. The mirror is large and the giltwood frame is quite ornate. It features an intricately carved wood frame with Neoclassical design. It is accented with acanthus leaf scrolls, curved lines and a carved shell in the center bottom. The large, 3 light tole sconce features wheat leaves with acanthus leaf accents found under each lighted arm of the sconce. All are gold gilt and are in exceptional condition. There is expected aging to the tole sconce in just a couple of areas, but overall it still maintains ... moreits beautiful and original gold finish. The mirror frame is in immaculate condition for its age. It shows only minor aging in just a few spots but nothing that is easy to see except upon very close inspection. The mirror has some aging at the top in the form of a cloudy, lightly spotted appearance(see pictures 9& 10) Again, this does not stand out much except with close inspection. Otherwise, very good to excellent condition. The sconce is attached. Through the mirror with screws. It has been given the ability for the sconce to move a little for adjustment. The power cord features an on/off switch. It is vintage, but in good condition and the sconce is working perfectly. I have pictured with only one lighted bulb as 3 makes it a little too bright to photograph well. The mirror frame measures 38.5" wide and 34.5" tall. Outstanding Victorian Era Rare Stick and Ball Mirror or Picture frame
Up for auction is one very sweet wooden frame I would estimate was made in the 1880's-1890's. This frame is a very large 46" tall x 34" wide at the bottom x 39.25" wide at the topx 2.25" deep. Frame is in excellent condition except for a piece of rail that has been damaged. This is easily replaced and made perfect again. This frame is very tight. And I know how it will look against a painted wall or over a mantel as a mantel mirror, or as a large bathroom or entrance mirror. You will not find another on Ebay, it's very unique.
