It measures 36 inches long by 24 in ches tall with the lid closed by 20 inches deep. It features a remova ble storage tray and more linens. Beddings. It is a wood structure trunk and frame with smooth me tal(black) and woven pattern metal riveted overlays with beautiful beading to ta ck in metals and curved and straight gorg eousl y grained wood slat s. Here's what I stated about it s condition: Metal overlay surfaces have been repainted and restored. Some scratches and scuffs marks on beautifully grained wood slats. Leather handle missing on left side. Flip up side locking latches both flip up into locking position. But only one catches to keep it lock closed and the other is missing its catch. Center locking latching closes in position but does not lock and there is no key. Interior lining shows foxing and staining and has some t ares due to great age. But smells clean with nice scent like cedar inside. Truly a rare beauty of extra large size that has great looks and craftsmanship on evident in these earlier era pieces of exceptional beauty. Large Flat Top Steamer Trunk Nice. Sturdy well made, beautifully restored Steamer Trunk. Newly refinished in a unique antiqued brown. Oak slats have been sanded and stained in a rich red mahogany and coated with polyurethane. My goal with this one is to make it look untouched, but still have a clean usable antique. The interior is newly finished as well. Stripped, sealed and covered in a deep brown felt, no old trunk smell! The handles are original. And still look very nice. It doesn't appear to have ever had wheels on the bottom. Bottom is also refinished. Note: the top has 2 cracks. This is a very nice refinished steamer trunk from around 1900 or so. Here are the trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 32 1/2 inches. From floor to top is 24 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 21 inches. There are some common or typical distress marks on this trunk. Up for consideration is a nice size Stagecoach antique trunk that has been restored. It has been cleaned well inside and out. The wood has been lightly sanded then sealed with a satin finish. It os all original exccept for the handles were replaced with new leather ones. The inside was recovered so no musty smells. It does have some minor dings and stress cracks. But this only adds to the characture of this 150 year old trunk. It would be Great for a blanket chest. The measurements are; 30" long x 17" wide x 18" tall. The interior lining was removed then the wood was sanded and stained with minwax"golden oak" as well. After serving as commander of Scott Field from 1933 to 1937, spent the majority of the rest of his career on the staff of the Chief of the Army Air Corps. His last assignment on active duty was as commander of Fairchild Field at Spokane, Washington. He retired in 1944 and passed away in March 1965. Quite interesting historical piece! army air corps, who was one of the first five men to volunteer for flight training when the army introduced it in 1911. Col. Kennedy. Went to Germany in 1922 to observe construction of the dirigible Los Angeles for the United States, and after the attack on Pearl Harbor supervised construction of air corps depots on the west coast. He retired in 1944.

It has the original curtain, clothes bag, and another small compartment in the bottom closed off by another curtain. Refinished Dome Top Victorian Steamer Trunk Antique Chest With Straps & Buckles
Nice Refinished Antique Dome Top Steamer Trunk With Straps& Buckles Here is a nice refinished arch top or dome top steamer trunk from around the late 1800's to 1900 or so. We purchased this one already finished by someone else. We didn't really like the way it was when we received it. So we went ahead and finished it out a little bit better. This one has a combination of fancy embossed metal which is in a leaf and flower pattern on the top and front. The rest of the trunk must have been paper which they removed to expose the wood on the sides and the back. The wood appears to be pine and the outer slat boards look like poplar. Here are the trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 32 inches. From floor to top is approximately 20 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 17 inches. The front latches were ... moremissing on this trunk, so we put a pair of Amish made leather straps with roller buckles up the front and across the top where the latches should have been. These straps with buckles hold the top secure to it's base when buckled as would the latches if they were there. The wood appears to be finished with a couple of coats of clearcoat. The metal has been painted in a couple of different colors. The fancy metal looks like a silverish color while the cap metal on the slat boards have been done up in gold leaf, and the flat metal is in black. The lock looks to be original. It is not in working condition because the top part that goes into the lock mechanism is missing the engagement part. The lock probably works, but it will not fasten to anything since the top part is missing that engagement part. We did receive this trunk pretty much the way it is and simply gave it some improvement. The side handles were not on it, so we have put on a pair of Amish made black leather stitched straps. Going to the interior, the paper lining has been removed and the wood has been finished with two coats of polyurethane. The bottom has been covered over with a new bottom which has been fastened

For other destinations. Please email for a shipping ... morequote. I call this a strap type trunk. Because leather straps would have encircled it in two places. The straps would have buckled at the opening. You can see the leather strap retainers that are still in place. If you want, you can have someone who works leather to make these belt-like straps for you. The top is studded. This is quite unusual in that I've never seen it before myself. It no doubt gave the top some protection from other trunks that would have been stacked on top. I think it is quite a good look. The hardware on the front. Specifically the latches are quite ornate and show that this trunk was made back toward the Victorian era when everything was onamental in design. I figure this trunk was made in the early part of the 20th century and spent a lot of time on railroads and maybe steam ships(the labels certainly bear out the railroad part) Notice the heavy use of studded rivets all along the corner protectors. This shows the quality of the trunk and like the studded top. Improves the overall look. The lock was made by Eagle Lock(see condition note below) I suspect from this that the trunk is American in origin(no makers mark was found on it) Underneath a

Antique Dread-Naught Steamer Wardrobe Trunk Luggage Chest Steampunk Storage
Here we have an incredible hunter green wardrobe trunk made by the Dread-Naught Luggage Company of Petersberg. Virginia around the 1930's. The interior has been completely recovered in a stunning ivory/ cream satin fabric. It has a locking mechanism for the drawers in addition to the exterior lock and the keys are included for both. The exterior has the wear and tear you would expect for its age and the leather handle is worn and torn as well, all of which add to its antique character. The top latch is off, but we have it; someone who is handy could probably easily re-attach it. The lower latch and lock keep it securely closed without it. It measures 42" high, 21 1/2" deep and 22 1/2" wide(10 1/2" for the hanging side and 12"for the drawer side) It would be great for storage, coffee table and/or addition to a ... moresteampunk décor. Steamer Trunk Dome Top Pirates Chest. I'm not sure if this is pre or post 1899 but it is a solid trunk. There are bulit in rollers on the bottom. The trunk is not rotted. The interior was covered in contact paper. I pulled it off exposing the original paper or what's left of it. The inside of the dome has reside from the contact paper. The leather straps are broken. There isn't a key. Trunk has a wonderful patina showcasing its age. Vintage Trunk Vintage Flat Top Trunk. Amazing storage trunk dating back to the early 1900s. Wood construction with vulcanzied fiber covering and metal reinforced edges. Corners and clasps. Front lock doesn't work. Two clasp hardware still work. Leather handles present on one side, but fragile. Lid opens and closes easily. It is missing the locking hinge arm that allows the lid to be kept open at a 45 degree angle. It is solid and able to carry weight. Has name written inside. Deep royal blue with a striking yellow stripe and black leather accents. The interior is a pale green with white accents, a very stunning pattern by itself. Includes 5 drawers, 2 types of wooden hangers which are on an extendable rod, and a travel case. The top of the wardrobe opens for ease of access. The side says"Kenworthy, Glenside, PA. It measures 42" length x 22" width x 23" height. It weighs approximately 85lbs. It opens as you see in the pictures and when fully open measures 45" across. As far as condition issues. This is a really neat heavy cast metal lock/latch which I believe came off a very old steamer trunk of sorts. It's in good used vintage condition with some surface wear and tarnish and I believe a tiny crack by the bottom bolt that you can't see from the front and doesn't seem to affect its use whatsoever.please view pictures for any further description/condition. Trim and wheels. Both side latches work. The trunk was loved and used! The cloth lining has a rip on the bottom, front right and is worn in spots. The rear center brace is split at center. The hardware is worn and has nice, rusty patina. The hinges on the back are black strap-type hinges. The inside of the trunk is covered in a light paper that has browned over years and is clean. I BELIEVE THAT THIS WAS MANUFACTURED AROUND THE 1920'S. THE LOCK STATES. YALE& TOWNE MFG. CO. STAMFORD,CONN.USA APPROXIMATE SIZE IS: 36" LONG X 22" DEPTH X 25" HEIGHT. APPROXIMATE WEIGHT IS 50-60LBS. THE TRUNK APPEARS TO HAVE ALL OF ITS ORIGINAL EXTERIOR WOOD SLATS AND APPEARS TO BE WRAPPED IN THE ORIGINAL DARK BROWN WEATHER PROOF STYLE MATERIAL. THE TRUNKS EXTERIOR DOES APPEAR TO BE IN GREAT CONDITION FOR ITS AGE. IT DISPLAYS ORIGINAL PATINA AND CHARACTER THAT THESE UNITS ACQUIRE OVER A LIFETIME OF USAGE OR DISPLAY. THE HARDWARE APPEARS ALL ORIGINAL TO THE TRUNK. FROM THE CORNER STAYS,METAL STRIPS,BOTTOM FEET OR FOOT STYLE ACORNS THAT ... moreTRUNK DRAGS ON. THE BEAUTIFUL SOFT BROWN LEATHER EXTERIOR TRUNK AND LID STRAPS AND STRAP KEEPS OR STAYS ARE ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. RICH IN COLOR. SOFT LEATHER FEEL. THE FRONT TRUNK STRAPS AND BRASS STYLE BUCKLES ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL. THE SIDE CARRY HANDLES ARE DOUBLE STRONG AND SEWN. THE LEATHER ON THIS TRUNK IS ALL BRAND NEW AND A VERY RECENT REPLACEMENT AS THE USUAL LEATHER AND STRAPS DRY AND DETERIORATE AND DETRACT FROM TRUNK APPEARANCE. THE INTERIOR WAS REPLACED AND LINED WITH HAND CUT CEDAR WOOD. THE HARDWARE IS ALL BRASS SCREWS TO SECURE DOWN. IT HAS A BEAUTIFUL LOOK INSIDE AND THE NATURAL CEDAR SMELL IS WONDERFUL. THE VERY TOP THIN TRIM STRIP OF THE INSIDE TRUNK BASE IS MADE OUT OF MAHOGANY OR OTHER HARD WOOD. THE YALE AND TOWNE LOCK DOES WORK AND IS FUNCTIONAL.THE BRASS LOCK HAS GREAT WEIGHT AND FEEL AND LOOK. THE TRUNK LOCKS UP VERY SECURE LIKE FORT KNOX. I HAVE A FULLY FUNCTIONING KEY THAT IS NOT THE ORIGINAL KEY BUT WAS MADE BY A LOCKSMITH TO WORK. THE KEY DOES WORK BUT YOU DO HAVE TO WIGGLE AND SLIDE IN AND OUT A BIT TO UNLOCK. I DONT KEEP THE TRUNK FULLY LOCKED IN THE HOUSE FOR EASY ACCESS TO OPEN IF I NEED STUFF OUT. BUT IF I WAS GOING AWAY AND THREW A FEW VALUABLES
