Each drawer is constructed with dovetailed joints and features two swan neck brass drop pulls. The flame mahogany has a rich color that will only improve with age. The unique serpentine front shape makes this chest a little more interesting. Its small size allows this chest to be used not only ... moreas a bedside chest but also as a side table or lamp table. This chest is in very good condition and has sustained only one area of damage on the front top right corner(see pictures) The drawers open and close smoothly and the chest is quite sturdy. Mid Century Mahogany Federal Style 2 over 2 Drawer Chest W/ Banded Inlaid Design
This is a mid century Federal style two over two drawer chest. The maker of this piece is unknown. It appears to be a good quality piece that is well made. This is made from mahogany and has a banded. Inlaid design framing the faces of the drawers and on the top of the chest. There is string inlay down the front legs. The drawers are jointed and tight. The handles on this have been replaced. The original handles were an oval brass design and there are signs on the drawers where they sat originally. The piece measures 32.5" in height. 42" in length and 20 3/8" in depth. This has the original porcelain casters with brass caps. It has matched crotch mahogany veneer on the banded dovetailed drawers and has finely carved delicate cabriole legs. It has an arched apron and small drops. The top has inset corners on the front and this little beauty is ready to go! It measures 30" tall x 30" wide x 18 1/2" deep and is in excellent condition with no repairs. The legs are all pegged to the case and it has finely dovetailed drawers with engraved cotter pin brasses. The High Boy has a Van Sciver brass emblem in a drawer and it is 35" wide and 72-1/2" high and 21" deep and weighs between 80& 100 pounds. We are pleased to offer this pair of Federal style mahogany serpentine Bachelors Chests with 4 drawers each. This pair is circa 1940's and is constructed out of mahogany and mahogany veneer. This has a smaller top drawer with decorative brass pulls and there are three larger drawers below with Hepplewhite style brass hardware. The base has bracket foot and the front corners have reeded columns topped with an applied foliate design. Measurements: 32.5" high x 35" wide x 18" depth at center 17 1/8" depth at corners. There are light surface scratches and dings on both of these as well as some chips to the veneer on the drawer tops. There are also some chips to the veneer on the tops that were filled in.
