Here you are bidding on an"Antique Carpenters Handmade Work Chest/Trunk. This is a big heavy trunk that measures 37 1/2 inches wide X 23 1/2 inches deep X 23 inches high. It lifts opens to expose sliding drawers on different levels to storage spaces as you get closer to its bottom. The top starts off with 2 sliding drawers with lift open tops. Next there are another 2 sliding drawers of different widths, next level there are another 2 sliding drawers of different sizes and dividers and then there are 2 more sliding drawers of different sizes and dividers. As you reach the bottom you have three stand up dividers that seperate the bottom into three sections of different size spaces. All the drawers slide forward and back and all can be removed as well. These sliding drawers inside and divisions were for tools of all types as well as storage ... morefor chisels, planes, and saws. There are nice brass handles at either end and a lock mechanism in the front(key not included) This is quite an exquisite piece with a lot of history. All dove tailed and handmade and all levels of draws that slide with no hardware on them at all. It's really hard to believe the work that was put into making something like this. It's quite large and really is best lifted by two people- a piece of history that i can safely says dates to the mid 1850's. It is also in very good condition and has been well preserved. Vintage- Ironmongers- Morse Drill Bits" 24 Drawer- Cabinet- This delightful 24 drawer cabinet. It is in"as found" condition and has not been repaired or restored by us. These charming set of 24 drawers would have oringinally sat on top of the ironmongers shop counter. The back has the remains of the original"Genuine Morse Drill Bits" sign and the front- store keeper side- has all the drawers which held various sized drill bits. The cabinet is in original condition. Carcass is oak and the drawers are pine in construction. It has certainly"lived a life" The cabinet was never designed to be a piece of home furniture, but was practical and to be used. Hence, there are ... moremarks, scratches, stains and scuffs to the body and top of the cabinet. The rear shows the signs of its age and the original advertising is faded and also damaged to the bottom. You may wish to replace this. But I have left it as found. Most of the drawers have their original"Ivorine" labels indicating which size bit was in each drawer. Three of the drawers have lost their knobs; easily replaced; but I personally love the look of it as it is; it is has a delightful"shabby chic" charm about it. It all still feels solid and this is a great vintage piece. Ready to carry on as a quirky storage around the home. This nice tool chest was obviously hand made to hold an individual's personal tools. The chest is hinged with no latch and there are nice handles at either end. The lid is held perpendicular by a chain when it is opened. The chest measures 26" L x 11.5" W x 10"T. The toolbox is divided into several different compartments inside. The main compartment measures 21 3/4" L x 7 1/8" W x 7"D. With 1.5" of headroom beneath the lid. Two wide compartments along the back measure 8 1/2" L x 2 1/4" W x 7" T and 9 3/8" L x 2 1/4" W x 7" T. A third compartment in the back is divided into two areas that measure 3" L x 3/4" W x 7" T. This wood crate has a nice warm finish and interesting hinges. A latch has been removed from the lid. And there are two handles, one on the end and one below where the latch was. The cabinet has an interior lining that is like corrugated cardboard. The trunk measures 31" L x 19" W x 13" T. The interior measures 28.5" L x 15.5" W x 9 3/4" T with a 1" of additional height inside the lid. This most intriguing re-usable shipping crate comes from a long time Fort Wayne. Indiana collection and dates from the middle 1900s. It measures 15 ½” tall(plus leather handle) x 25 ½” x 15” and is constructed of maple veneered laminate slats with numerous nickel plated steel mounts, rivets and latches. It has spent years in storage and shows dirt and wear and has several old labels from past use. Vintage 1949 trunk coffee table. It has been given a makeover and turned into a coffee table. It is painted black and distressed. The inside is gray. We added four caster wheels with locks to make it a functional coffee table. It is perfect to store blankets or games in close to your couch. The trunk is chippy and distressed. It is weathered and worn and would be perfect for a rustic. Trendy living room or man cave. There are metal clasps on the front and metal handles on the sides and front. I love this trunk! There are a few on line for sale in the UK and on 1 st Dibs but you don't see these available for sale very often on eBay. It is currently being used as a coffee table and is packed full of the owners photographs so it makes very useful storage too. I have done some research and it looks as though it may have been made back in England late 40's early 50's. The interior has a faded red fabric lining and a top tray also lined in the same fabric. I looked behind the lining and the trunk is thin wood under the aluminum. It measures 40" long by 20" deep by 21" tall. Leather handles on both sides. One is a little dry. The center latch won't stay up on its own and there isn't a lock. The 2 side latches work. It is covered in scratches on the top and has a water stain. The sides and back have ... moresome light scratches.and a few tiny indentations. No holes! Normal wear and tear based on age and use! There are a few light marks in the lining. Vintage Industrial Reinforced Wooden Strong Box Tool Box Trunk Chest Jewelry
This interesting vintage locking chest is solid and heavy duty. Though the key is missing. Perhaps this was used for someone's personal tools or to hold items of value. The trunk measures 21 3/4" L x 15 3/4" W x 11" T. Inside there are several sliding trays, two measuring 10 5/8" L x 3 1/4" W x 3 1/8" H inside and one measuring 10 5/8" L x 3 3/8" W x 1 1/8" H. The inside cavity of the trunk measures 18 3/8" L x 11 3/8" W x 8 7/8" H minus the trays and slide rails. It's rather heavy as well. I also have a wonderful selection of other industrial artifacts. Vintage Industrial 5 Drawer Wooden Tool Box Jewelry Trinket Chest Cabinet
This vintage wooden tool box has a removable wooden front panel that protects the drawers. It would be a stylish addition to a workshop for storing tools or a living area as jewelry or trinket box. It measures 20" x 9" x 14" tall. The top 4 drawers have interior storage space of 17 3/4" x 6 3/4" x 1 1/2" tall and the bottom is 3 1/2" tall. The two two drawers have 2 partitioned 8 3/4" wide sections and the middle drawer has 1 8 1/2" partition and 2 4 1/4" partitions. This is a vintage item that is worn but in good condition for its age. In particular the front panel is missing a hinge and no longer secured. The top handle is broken as pictured and there are a great deal of dings and dents consistent with an item this old.
