Unusual "Long" Needle Work Bench Stool From Scotland With Queen Anne Legs
This auction is for a unique mahogany framed bench or stool with a needle work covering on the seat from Scotland. This puppy is long. It has cute Queen Anne style legs that are attached with"pegs" to the frame& glued& blocked on the inside. The seat is attached to the frame by the means of four long flathead scress on the bottom of the frame. It would not be hard to recover the seat with a fabric of your choice. The needle work material on now is in good overall shape or condition. There are no tears. Rips or burns to the material. The materal has lost some of it's brightness more than likely due to direct sunlight causing it to fade. The mahoagny Quuen Anne legs and frame are very solid without any splits in the wood, otr or worm damage. Overall. It is 38" X 17" and about 12 1/4" tall. The cover seat ... morearea is about 36 3/8" X 15 1/4" It has some blemishes to the finish(light or dark spots or marks) to the frame. Legs and feet where the finish has been rubbed/banged/bumped off. The seat covering does not have any tears, rips or burns. The padding under the cover is still good. Here is a really neat old piano bench for sale. The fabric is not original as it is a black plush velvet material. But they did the original green strip of fabric which looks really neat on the black. This does have some damage to a piece of the trim on one side as you can see in the last 2 pics. There are some scuff marks here and there and some spots, but it is solid and fully useable and priced right even with the damage. Stands 21" tall, is 37" wide, and 15" deep. Very unusual in that it is a very large size. As such it could be used as a footstool for a small couch(pictured) Or even a vanity. It works nicely as a small seat as well. The needlepoint is all very nicely done and is a rose motif with a maroon background. The wooden footstool is made from mahogany. It does have scratching throughout however. Early 18 th century Queen Anne Mirror Desk was vey talented but they did not sign their work. The talents ... moreused to hand construct this desk shows they were by a craftsman. As you look at all the close-up photographs you will see that this Mirrored Desk is completely Bench-Made in the style of a classic early 18 th century Queen Anne Mirror. Ahowever it was constructed in the first part of the 20th century. All the fine dovetails of the small interior drawers are handmade and they retain their original small brass pulls. The panels on the front of the desk and on the top are fine burl veneers which were also used at the top of the classic Queen Anne mirror. The brass hinges, the lock& key, the small brass tightening screws for the mirror and the bun feet are all original, and perfect. The desk-part of this, antique Queen Anne desk/mirror measures 10 ¼” wide by 17 ½” long by 6” tall. Including the original 15” wide by 29” tall mirror, the overall height is 35” Over the years, this desk has developed a wonderful old polished patina that makes it look like it is from the 18th century. The seat is upholstered in a neutral textured nylon fabric with a beige background with colors of red and green in the pattern. Vintage 1960's Queen Anne Singer Sewing Machine Cabinet Bench Seat Stool 401 500
This is a Genuine Vintage Queen Anne Singer Sewing Machine Cabinet Bench. It most likely came with a cabinet that held a Singer 400 or 500 series machine from the late 1950's to early 1960's. The bench sits solid. The seat top is original with some wear on the corners. There are mild scratches and scuffs on the legs from normal use. There are also fine white paint dots and thin white scuffs on the legs. I believe the wood finish is walnut. It has storage under the seat with repaired puncture. The loose piece was glued and clamped into place. Some of the veneer has small chips on the edge. One area a 3/8" wide chip along the top edge. It is pictured separately. Each leg has the original metal pad. The legs will need to be installed upon delivery. A simple adjustable opened end wrench is all that's needed. Hard to believe that this furniture is over 60 years old! No spills inside the bench, fabulous condition! It is the walnut finish and still shines like a new penny! This lovely bench measures 15' X 17' and is 19¼' high. The original cover of the top that comes off. To reveal an ample storage area for those very necessary sewing accessories, was worn so I replaced it with a high quality upholstery fabric in a nice spring green and I added a'tad of pad for the tush' while doing so! I added a new bottom to the bench as the one weak area in these benches is the bottom. They are very thin and only supported by 1/8' of wood all the way around. This ... morebottom is substantially stronger now. This bottom will not cave in!
