Decorative brass corner hardware, double latch opening, black Bakelite handle, four hard plastic feet on bottom in closed horizontal position and four metal feet on bottom in closed vertical position. SUBLIME VINTAGE SHABBY CHIC BLUE/BLACK CHEST/COFFEE TABLE/ TRAVEL TRUNK/STEAMER This auction is for a really lovely shabby chic. Blue coloured, Mossman style, travel trunk/ chest/ coffee table. Measuring approx 36ins(94cms) x 17ins(43cms) deep x 18ins(46cms) it is a traditional steamer type trunk having protective studded bands on the edges, with metal corner protectors, twin locks at the front with a central clasp. There is a leather carrying handle at either end. It is finished in a blue/black colour with an attractive patina to it. The catches work well but are a little stiff and there is no key for the locks. I nternally it has the original lchequered lining material. It is in good general condition but has a few signs of use as one might imagine. With scuffs, nicks, scratches and so on and there is a tear to the top and another smaller ... moreone, but nothing detracting and all very characterful! The lining is clean and dry with two very obvious ancient ink stains. please see photos) This is a beautiful old travelling chest which stands with real presence- the perfect combined storage chest and coffee table! Up for sale is an old rounded black and brown suitcase. It is 18" wide. 17" tall and 9" deep. It has a handle on the top and a snap lock, with other hinges on the sides. I do not have a key to actually lock the case, but you can open and close the snap closure. The inside is a blue pattern cloth and it does have some stains. The outside has some scratches and dings, and the brown trim is a little rough. It is still structurally sound and has a great look. This auction is for a pretty cool storage case. It was used to store hats as this case still has the center snap-on insert in the middle which is rare. It is black in color and has the look of leather however I think that the leather is a faux leather except for the handle which I believe is real leather. It has a good look to it. Could be used for many purposes. It is solid and can hold some weight. It has a Corbin lock and a blue and gold floral pattern interior. A pretty neat old piece. For auction is a fascinating antique black chest that is 12.5 inches wide. 12.5 inches deep and 7.5 inches tall. It has a hinged lid with two fastening clasps on the handle side. The inside is lined with a kind of gray felt. Given the interior partitions, I wish I knew exactly what this chest was designed to hold. Perhaps you know. I cannot determine precisely the composition of the chest walls. Each corner has a protective metal corner and metal brads hold the case/chest together. The hinges have the word"Corbin" on them. The handle appears to be leather coated with a stitched seam. The case is sturdy and sound with no holes, but it does have excessive wear: dents, rusting, staining, scratches. VINTAGE 1930s/40s WW2 ERA BLACK METAL DOCUMENTS STRONG BOX/PORTABLE SAFE Description: Welcome along! For bids today we have an interesting way to keep your storage problems at bay with this vintage strong box! Made in the 1930s or 40s this black metal box features a mostly plain exterior with only a key hole. Corner covers and side handles/leather straps for carrying. This simplicity was to aid security as the box was used to carry important documents and assets either day to day or in a hurry(eg incase of fire! The box is 3.2kg in weight and measures 35cm wide by 23.5cm high and is 23cm deep. It opens to reveal two chains keeping the door in check and a nice blank space. Perfect for keeping objects or paper work in. The previous owner used the box during WW2 while part of the Home Guard. It was so important to him that he had his initials ... morelacquered on to the front and a brass name/address plaque put on the top just incase it got lost! Luckily the box never did get lost however when the gent past away he forgot to leave the key handy and so it had to be forced open to access the treasures within. Despite 50+ years of life we'd say that this forced entry was the only drawback to the piece. It means that now the door will not stay shut if the box is tilted but given that the metal was only bent up and the lock is untouched this may be rectifiable and a new key engineered. The good news is that otherwise the box just has the type of wear which gives it character and age(no big dents or gouges! It also opens and its handles move freely while the leather straps(although a little worn) are still supple. Strong and capable of being carry handles once more. Any questions? Please ask! Vintage Wooden Trunk With Black Painted Metal Outer Shell
For sale is this Gorgeous Vintage Wooden Trunk Covered in a Metal Outer Shell. The outer shell is painted black. The trunk body is in very good condition. The bottom is not rusted and all of the wooden parts of the bottom are attached. There are only a few notable cosmetic issues. The paper on the inside of the trunk has some damage to it(there is staining and some tears) It is also missing the handles on the sides. I dont have the key for the front lock and neither did the previous owner. I assume that is the reason for the detached bottom plate of the lock from the trunk's body. The plate is present and the lock is fully assembled and in good cosmetic condition. If you're looking to use this piece decoratively. The key doesn't matter much anyway. It has 6 drawers on one side, and a"closet" with its original wooden hangers and a drawer underneath on the other side. A metal rack pulls out so you can access the hanging clothes like they are in a closet. The drawers and the"closet" are locking, as is the trunk itself, with the same key. The key comes with the trunk. Cosmetically. The trunk has been cleaned and painted black inside and out, with the insides of the drawers and closet clear-coated to seal them. This listing is for a vintage flat-top storage trunk on wheels. It has been painted black and seems very clean inside. It doesn't have any strong odors. The trunk measures about 36" wide. 21-1/4" deep, and 24-3/4" tall with the wheels and 23-1/4" without the wheels. The outer latches still seem to work as they should. The center locking latch closes but does not stay shut. We do not have keys for it. The leather handles still seem strong, although one shows wear(see photo) The trunk is located in Las Vegas. This is a beautiful early 1900’s antique round black Leather/Vinyl Suitcase Hat Box Train Case. This piece has been around. It does show some wear. The surface has some scuffs and scrapes and on one side it looks a sticker has been removed. The body and handle are very solid. The hardware is all original including the Excelsior lock which still works and has the key. One pin has been replaced on the upper part of the lock. The repair shows on the inside of the lid. The liner is in good condition with some stains. The elastic in the upper pouch is still very tight. One of the leather straps to keep the lid from falling back when open is broken but the other is still in very good shape. The Dimensions are 17 1/2" x 16" x 8 3/4" Please look at the pictures. 1900-1950 Black Vintage Hartmann Steamer Chest/Trunk made in America
This is an antique/vintage Hartmann steamer chest/trunk dated from sometime between 1900 and 1920. It is made by the Hartmann Trunk Company out of Racine. Wisconsin. There is a stamp with that information on it on the front of the trunk. It looks like it has travelled to San Francisco and Los Angeles, California and Denver, Colorado as there are a couple of stickers on the top from those places. It is in very good condition with scratches and marks on the exterior consistent with travel and having been put on and off trains. The interior is in excellent condition with no tears or stains in the fabric. It is very heavy, around 85-100 lbs and approximately 40 inches tall, 22inches wide and 21 inches deep. It contains 4 drawers. A small suitcase, an ironing board, and 10 hangers. There is no key for the lock. It smells old. But does not smell ... moreof mothballs or musty. It has been in Colorado for the last 20 years that I know of, so it has been in a dry climate and a non-smoking home. Up for auction is a vintage National Vulcanized Fibre Co. Black Trunk/ Chest with a working key/lock. There is a removable two compartment tray. One of the supports for this tray is intact but damaged. In overall good shape.
