Antique / Vintage Small Wooden Mortar and Pestle : Multi-Colored/Toned Wood
Up for sale is this antique small wooden mortar& pestle(I don't know what type of wood it is and wouldn't venture a guess) My wife and I bought this piece at an antique shop in town. Please view the pictures and read below for details on the condition of the item. The mortar is just over 3 inches tall and about 2 inches in diameter at the mouth. The pestle is about 3& 1/4 inches long. As you can see in the pictures. The mortar and pestle have obviously been used and the surface is covered in scratches, dings, and marks. Also there is some cracking of the wood on the pestle, at the base of the mortar, and on the cup of the mortar(see pictures) The rim of the mortar also seems to be uneven on one side; almost like a decent sized sliver of wood was taken out of it and was smoothed out over time. There are no markings on the mortar ... moreor pestle or any provenance(other than that it was acquired at an antique shop) that would indicate an age or a maker. My wife and I purchased this mortar and pestle because of the multi-toned wood, which makes it a charming piece. In use in the mid-20th century and then placed in storage in 1970 this copper toned box is sufficiently large to store many trinkets. It has a clean minimal design and is copper toned with a base metal that is magnetic. It has a hinged lid and there are a couple of worn spots where the lid meets the bottom. The wood lined interior is in excellent shape. And the bottom of the box may have have had felt protective pads that are long long. Weight is 3 lb 12 ounces. Porcelain Hummingbird 2 Toned Green w/Wood Base 4" x 2 1/2" Little Rubb Off
Very pretty little two toned green hummingbird sitting on a branch and drinking off what looks like a lavender lilly. There is a sticker on the bottom that says Made in China but no other markings as to who made the hummingbird. There are 4 little felt pads on the bottom and there is also a wood platform for it to sit on. The hummingbird measures 2 1/2" tall and 4" from the wing to the first green leaf. There are no cracks or chips. But there is rub off on the corners of the tail. Also, there is small spots of rub off on some of the leaves and stump. If you are cleaver I'm sure they could be touched up with paint from a craft store. I have 2 other hummingbirds and I am selling all of them separately. Up for your consideration we have a nice mid century style bar ware ice bucket set. This set includes the gold toned metal and wood bucket with a pair of matching gold metal tongs. The bucket has a glass insert inside. It measures about 10" tall. 10" long from handle to handle and 7.5" wide in diameter. It has a small wooden handle on top that is a bit loose and will need tightened. The metal has some light spotty areas to it and the tongs also have some spottiness. Wooden hand carved scooper spoon made from Cherry Wood! This versatile scooper spoon is the true meaning of ONE OF A KIND as no two pieces I make will ever look or be the same! This scooper spoon is 9 7/8 inches long by 2 3/8 inches wide at the tip by 1 inch deep! This spoon is so comfortable. The ball fits well in the palm of your hand and it curves comfortably for scooping any type of dry item! This is 100% hand carved(as all things Romey are! so it is not perfectly even like a machine would be. It is GORGEOUS in person, I cannot say that enough! This Cherry Wood has white sap wood down to darker red/brown heart wood. It is stunning! The figures and grains of this spoon are outstanding in person. Pictures don't do it justice at all! After the roughing. Shaping, and first sanding each one of my wooden creations gets a“bath” in clean ... morewater and set out to dry. By wetting the wood after sanding, it allows the loose fibers of the wood to“stand-up” so the next sanding helps ensure the wooden utensils stay smooth after use and will last for many years. This process happens once again in between finer grit sandings; all the way down to 400 grit. Once I am done with the final sanding, I polish each piece with a mixture of Beeswax and mineral oil to help condition and preserve the wood. For best care and to preserve the wood. Never put any wooden utensils in the dishwasher(hand wash only as soon as possible so no food residue‘s stick) and occasionally coat your wooden wares with either Howard's Beeswax(found out Home Depot) or food grade mineral oil USP(found in the pharmacy area) to help keep them shiny and soft! Large Oval Convex Glass Wood & Gesso Picture Frame with Sepia Toned Photograph
Up for bid is an old photograph of a man with a very pleasant expression. In an oval wooden convex glass frame. Measures 18-1/2" x 24-1/2" The photo is in very good condition and is curved to match the glass. The wood is painted to resemble another type of wood and has a nice curved surface. It has very intricate decorations made of gesso at the top, bottom, and sides. There are the following issues: no hanging wire; loss of gold paint on one area; some small chips on black paint; a few cracks to decoration; back board is original. But is fairly fragile, has some chips and a couple tears; nails appear to be newer. You may see all these issues in the photographs. Overall. In good shape. Antique Etched Mirrored Glass-On-Wood Silver Toned Repousse LAST SUPPER
This is an exquisite rendition of The Last Supper in raised metal relief. In a rare and ornate antique glass, wood, and mirrored frame. Stunning detail in the etched mirror under glass, and the silver toned wooden scrolls in deep relief attached to each corner, and center top and bottom scrolls and medallions. The sculpture proper depicts Jesus Christ, and all of the Apostles. On viewing close up, each Apostle is identified on the lower edge of the tablecloth. When you step back, it looks like the pattern of the tablecloth. It is all securely attached to a thick wooden frame, which is scrolled exactly the same as if it were carved from one piece. I can find no artist or maker's mark. The back is covered in a reddish mahogany heavy wood grain veneer. Which has 2 small missing pieces on top and bottm right hand corner. The veneer is also ... morelifting somewhat in this same area. There is also a few small scratches on the back. This piece measures 15" wide x 10" high x 1/2" thick. I cannot guess what type of metal. It is silver toned. The etched mirror under the beveled glass layer appears to be silvered. Up for your consideration we have a vintage gold toned metal jewelry trinket box that is lined with wood. It is marked made in Japan and has a"K" on it. It measures about 1.5" tall. 4" long and 3.5" wide. It's in pretty good condition with no major damage but it has alot of discoloration to the metal. It has some surface scratching from normal use and is a bit dusty and could use a good cleaning. We have recently purchase d a major estate of a serious collector of all things unique. Ceramic Salt, Pepper, and Sugar Set on Silver-Toned Tray with Wood Accents
This is a six-piece set if you count the lid and spoon for the sugar bowl separately. As sellers frequently count. The first and second pictures, which look virtually identical, are the front and back of the set on the tray. As you can see, the design is on the front and back of the pieces, but not on the sides, as shown in the singular pictures. The ceramic pieces have a swirly design with yellow, orange, and gold accents. The shakers have holes on the top shaped in an"S" and"P" They have their original plastic stoppers. It's a wonderful feature to have a set complete with a sugar bowl that can be kept neatly on a tray. The tray has wood handles on each end. Vintage Syroco Wood deer doe or fawn gold toned bookends with leaves
You are bidding on a vintage Syroco Wood set of bookends. They have deer standing in leaves on the front. There is felt on the bottom of each. One of them doesn't have any noticeable chips.
