Antique/Vintage Metal and Wood Lined Treasure or Doll Trunk/Chest Home Decor
Vintage/Antique wood and metal treasure or doll trunk/chest. Not sure of the exact age but I was told it was very old and maybe from the early 1900's. It is gold lined with a velvety material but the ribbon is not attached but could be easily attached to keep the lid from going back too far. The latch on front of chest does need repair and there is one small crack on one of the top slats on top of chest. The slats are wood and the sides. Top and front appear to be pressed metal on top of wood. Measures 15 inches long, 8 3/4 inches wide and is 8 1/2 inches tall. Comes from a smoke free home. We do not charge handling charges. This trunk has been part of my family since I can remember. I believe that my father had it in the early 1930's but can't verify that. It could be older or newer. It measures 23" high. 19"wide and 34" long. The trunk is made of some type of metal with wooden stays. It has decorative tin type on the top and front. The lock has no key. It reads- Yale& Towne Mfg. Co/ shamrock around the keyhole with Y& T/ Stanford Conn. U.S.A. AB The round top has 5 wooden stays. 4 on the front and back and 3 on the bottom. The rollers are in working condition. The inside has no tray or decorations. As you can see. I know very little about this trunk. I found it in a foreclosure here in Vegas. It is ROUGH. I can send more pics if you need to see certain features. It was definitely a cool looking trunk when it was new. The bottom is the worst part. See pics. I am taking a stab at the price, so don't shoot me if it is too high. it is large and pretty heavy. Shipping might be possible but I am going to list this as local pickup. Picking it up would be a good Las Vegas vacation excuse. As long as you pay for it, I will hold it for up to 30 days until you can get here. Any longer and I charge you a storage fee. I have a Wheary wardrobe/trunk that I will list also. Buy em both and really make the trip worthwhile. PLEASE understand this is an old trunk that definitely has seen wear and use. It will need big time refinishing.
