Painted navy blue on the outside. It features wrap around decorative brass hardware on the top and bottom edges of the trunk itself and on the four corners of the top, please refer to photos for detail. There are two wide decorative brass bands running up the front of the trunk and the lid, across the top of the lid, and down the back of the trunk, all held in place with tiny brass nails. The lid is hinged in the back, all hardware is brass. The front lid features two brass tabs which fold down onto the locking pins. Going through the locking ... morepins are a pair of Japanese locks, very rare nowadays, but popular on storage trunks in the 1920's and 30's. The locks themselves are solid brass, a collector's item in themselves- we have chosen to offer them with the trunk, as they came to us at auction with the trunk. The key is included, will be in a separate envelope on the outside of the trunk. There are two side handles mounted on brass circles, please see photo. The inside is roomy, unpainted wood, no tray, in very good shape. This would make a wonderful storage chest for quilts and blankets, kept at the foot of a bed. Here we have an incredible hunter green wardrobe trunk made by the Dread-Naught Luggage Company of Petersberg. Virginia around the 1930's. The interior has been completely recovered in a stunning ivory/ cream satin fabric. It has a locking mechanism for the drawers in addition to the exterior lock and the keys are included for both. The exterior has the wear and tear you would expect for its age and the leather handle is worn and torn as well, all of which add to its antique character. The top latch is off, but we have it; someone who is handy could probably easily re-attach it. The lower latch and lock keep it securely closed without it. Offered is an early 1900 Trunk which measurers 13 inches high. 36 inches wide and 22 inches deep. It has a center lock labeled"Eagle Lock Co. 178, Terryville, Conn. U.S. which is slightly bent. No key. There are two leather straps originally with the trunk which are not complete. The side handle leather grips are in good condition. The wood slats appear to be oak type of wood, but not positive. The interior is original with no restoration, lid lock needs reattachment, and the truck interior is wooden construction with an extra metal base evident from the outside base. There is one dent in the metal base, which is black color in the photos. The trunk is wrapped in oil cloth or a canvas type of material, with metal corners and metal edges. THE METAL CORNER TRIM IS ALL THERE BUT ONE RIVET IS MISSING. SOME OF THE OAK HAS SEPARATED SLIGHTLY FROM THE CORNERS BUT ARE STILL INTACT. This is one BIG Vintage Trunk! It was made by Besbilt Trunk Company In Newark. N.J. USA Trunk No. 83117 It has a plate so if it were ever found you could contact the company and they would get in touch with whomever purchased/lost it. It measures 26" high x 40-1/2" wide x 24" deep. This trunk could be restored or used"as is" with all its character! Would be a great wide screen TV stand. End table or just hanging around for extra storage. I would say someone has added some paint to the outside. But it is rather industrial looking. The leather handles on both ends are missing. Hardware is in good condition. Corners are awesome! Sorry. This unique item is a vintage wicker storage basket. Dating back to probably before the mid century. The wicker basket itself is assumed that old. No one knows if it was built as a house or if that was done later. However, this is not just someone's craft project. The house has been around for at least decades, but could have been built that way in the first place- just am unable to get that verified, as a fact. It measures approximately, a little over 22" high x almost 13" wide x almost 11"deep. Not sure what it was originally intended for, but nowadays, it can be used as a laundry hamper, a trash can after a plastic bag is placed inside, general storage, or just as decor. Greens and blues. These are vintage pieces out of the 60's-70's. They also have aluminum fish faux keyhole locks and handles. Here is a vintage steamer trunk. Measures 39" long. 20" wide, 21" tall. Does not have a key. All parts are attached as shown in photo. Belonged to my grandmother who came to this country from Austria in 1910 so this trunk is at least 104 years old. Needs some restoration as shown in photos. Blue sides is some type of cloth material over wood. the bottom panel is metal as shown in photo. Hinges came loose and need to be attached. The wood shelf insert is cracked, but repairable. This Huge Vintage truck measures 40"x23"x 25" and has a dark military green finish. The base is made from metal and the sides are wood wrapped in leather. I have seen these used as storage trunks as well as coffee tables in the past. It could also double as a Cedar chest or window seat. The outside has that natural distressed look that is sought after these days. The hinges and latches all work and the key and lock mechanism has been removed previously.
