Original Antique Ornate Gentlemans Shaving Mirror - Unrestored Wood Wall Mirror
Estate Find- Here is an original old shaving mirror. It mearsures 14.25" across by 18.5" high. It is made of wood with ornate carvings at the top center and bottom corners. It also has an all wood backing with an old wire hanger. Due to age the mirror has black markings. Streaks and a couple of defects in the glass but no cracks or chips. This gives it character and shows its age. The frame has some paint loss but overall it is solid. It makes for a nice primitive piece that is totally original with no restorations or touch ups. This is a lovely older mirror. It has a beveled edge and a very nice craved piece at the top. Not sure if it's wood or gesso. It has wood backing. It's 20 1/4" x 9" It has a label on the back that says. Borin creators of Mirros and Framed Pictures, No. 3576? Borin vivitone Corp. New York, Chicago, LosAngeles. The bottom decorative piece is missing and there are a couple of cracks in the top part. A few spots on the mirror as you can see in the pics. Over all it is in good condition for it's age. ANTIQUE MEDITERRANEAN GESSO GILDED ORNATE WOOD 19 CENTURY 13O YEAR OLD MIRROR Up for your consideration is this really nice antique mediterranean style gesso gilded ornate wood frame 19th century 130 year old mirror. FEATURES:Made out of wood with a gesso(plaster) Mediterranean leafing style design on the top"handle" and the very bottom part of this 130 year old mirror. The handle looks like the leaves are coming together to form a wreath. And the shape is an almost kidney shape where the middle curves in. Along the rest of the frame it is somewhat contoured with several fine lines, or ridges. The back has the origianal cardboard liner, but the vast majority of the paper backing/cover is gone. The only thing that remains is along the outer edges. There are several different types of nails that hold this mirror into the frame, some ... morelook like they come from at least 3 different time periods. There are signs on this that just can't be"faked" or duplicated without the passage of many many decades of time and looks very aged. There is an eyelet screw on each side of the mirror with 4 thin braided cords attached for hanging. By looking at this, it looks like the handle was handcarved out of wood, as it looks very primitive with no uniformity, even the two back support wedges that hold the handle onto the mirror are very different in size. ADD. INFO: Based on the way this mirror was made. You can pretty much be sure- there were not a lot of these made. INCLUDED: The actual antique Mediterranean style 19 century 130 year old mirror pictured. NOT-INCLUDED: Your awesome wall to hang this up on. SIZE: At the hips of the mirror. It measures about 26" wide x 21" tall. Mid-Century Wall Mirror with Ornate Wood Frame. I'm not sure if this is Danish or not- my grandparents were Danish and had a lot of Danish items. The design is very elaborate on the top and sides of the frame. However, as stated in the condition description, the top part of the frame has several breaks and chips in it. If the mirror was replaced and the frame was restored this could be a nice item. I saw one similar go for a lot of money. But it needs some work. The frame from the end of the wood to the end of the wood measures approximately 32" by 23 3/4. The mirror area measures approximately 29 3/4" by 17 1/2. This is offered for free local pickup or for $30 shipping.

Stunning antique wood framed mirror. The frame is made of a soft wood and was hand carved with a lot of beautiful detailing. It's 26.5 inches long and 19.5 inches tall. The wood frame is antique but I do believe the mirror. Backing and hardware were replaced at some point so I'm not positive of their age. The backing has some wear along the edges. This is an absolutely beautiful antique wall mirror with great detail on the mirror and the frame. The mirror is etched in an elegant floral deisgn with finely detailed mounting buttons. The wood frame has gold leaf accent paint and has intricate carving as well. This is in GREAT condition for it's age(cica 1920-30) and is made with very fine quality! SIZE: 12" in width x 24" in height There is a small scratch near the top portion of the glass which can be seen in the photos and there is also a small"swirl" near the bottom. ANTIQUE EDGED BORDER MIRROR IN ORNATE WOOD FRAME 10 by 19 in
Today we have a nice and very old antique mirror in a carved wood frame. The mirror measures 10.5 by 19.25 inches. This includes the frame. The mirror has a lined border that must have been etched in from the back as you cannot feel the indentions. There is some finish loss to the mirror up in one corner a few other very small dots elsewhere. This gives it such a true shabby cottage type look. The frame is carved and has a top piece and a bottom piece that are a part of the complete frame. Not nailed in place like many other antique mirrors. This means that they won't be falling off. The frame does have some nicks and finish loss as is expected with a piece this old. This still has it's original backing though it does show some water damage. This has two newer looking wires attached on the back so this baby is ready to hang in thqt ... morespecial place in your home or office. This is a beautiful. Stunning! we believe 1920s or 1930s, gold gild carved wood, overmantle three panel mirror. There are gorgeous reversed floral border etchings in all four corners and the top center of the mirrors. In each corner of the mirror panels there are nickel sized gold gild carved wood floral buttons. The overall condition of this piece is nice. But there are some small aged cracks in the wood, not noticeable unless up close, and not affecting the sturdiness or beauty of the piece.I did take the photos with flash to show the detail of the wood. So some of the pictures make the gold gild look newer and glossier than it really is. This mirror was purchased some time ago at a high end antique store in St. Augustine. Florida. I try to describe any problems up front and I take lots of photos. Usually with and without flash-PLEASE look at them, consider them part of the description, and ask if you need more. I usually do a light cleaning on items—not heavy duty. In many cases I notice dust or grime in photos that I did not see beforehand and I re-clean the item, so when you receive it, it may actually look better than in photos.
