Rare Vintage Keen Kutter Oak& Etched Glass Display Case-Antique Knife-Mirror Fantastic Keen Kutter display case with etched glass front. This etched glass is an anomaly. I have done my research. And can’t find anything that refers to Keen Kutter using the“Kutlery” spelling. I am no expert and maybe someone else has some information on this case. The wood case has minor wear and tear like scuffs and scratches, but looks pretty good for its age, and is strong and intact. It has two sliding wood doors that have mirrored sides inside the case. The doors work and slide well. The case is velvet covered on the inside, and is formed to the contours of the display sections. The velvet is worn away in areas, and stained in sections. There are two wooden drawers that slide in underneath. They are sectioned and have great pull knobs. The top glass ... moreis missing, and the two side glass pieces are broken. Despite this, the case is very strong and stable. I believe the case will travel very well. It appears that the glass could be replaced easily, and has previously been held in with wood strips. Up for auction is a beautifully carved antique Black Forest mirror with beveled edge from the early 1900's. The frame has branches with oak leaves and acorns that wrap around a nice mirror. This piece has fabulous detail. The only flaws that I see with this piece is a small dark spot or discoloration on the left side of the mirror(I tried to get a picture of it, but doesn't show up very well) and four small holes on the back with a round mark(You can see in the last two pictures that show the back of the mirror. It might have had a leg on the back at one time so you could also display the mirror on a shelf which is were these marks might have came from, not sure. This could be KOA, Rosewood, Teak, Oak etc. I really have no idea. Description: When I picked it up at the Estate Sale. I just thought it was beautiful. Someone who knows wood can probably take a look at the pics and tell exactly what type of wood it is. I can tell you this. The wood is a really pretty maple caramel color and feels really smooth to the touch. There are some minor scratches, and a tiny stain on the back of the mirror. The mirror itself is in excellent shape. Mirror is not beveled. Has a nice weight to it where it wont tire out your hand or arm in my opinion. Antique 1870s BLACK FOREST Relief Carved Eagle Top Wood Frame OAK WALL MIRROR
I have up for sale a rare and beautiful vintage circa 1860s- 1880s Black Forest hand carved Hanging Wall Mirror. I believe that the frame is made of Oak- its relief carved with a bird. Possibly an Eagle on top. The bird has a glass eye and the talons are fixed on to a log. It measures approx 26-1/2" measured from the tip of the wing to the bottom of the vertical section of the frame,its approx 17-1/4" wide. The bird itself protrudes outward just over 4" The glass mirror itself measures approx 16-1/4" x 9" The frame is in very nice estate fresh as found condition. I am quite sure that the finish is the old original. Regardless it looks wonderful. It has a nice warm patina and recessed areas have darker coloration. Overall the frame is in Great Condition- other than some wear/small chip to the end tip of the birds beak ... morethe wood is in fantastic shape. Wear is light, the frame was well taken care of. The glass mirror is excellent- no silvering issues- no damages. I see that the bird is attached with 2 screws in the back. When I package it. I will take if off and package it separately. PLEASE HOLD OFF MAKING PAYMENT UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED MY INVOICE. Mirror Beautiful Vintage English Octagonal Oak Framed Beaded Jacobean Beveled Offered here is a beautiful vintage beveled mirror framed in a great oak frame. This piece is from England and is a very nice piece. The wooden frame is in good condtion with no breaks or repairs and just normal surface wear for a piece this age. The frame is good and tight and sturdy and there is a wooden back on the mirror as well. It is octagonal in shape. The mirror itself is beveled. The mirror is not perfect. It does have a fair amount of black speckling to it where the silvering is slightly damaged. So the mirror itself is definately not in mint condition but is in ok condition for it's age. If you are looking for a perfect mirror this one will not work. However. I do think this mirror is still very nice and you really can't notice the issued with ... morethe mirror unless you are looking at it from close up. I tried my best to photograph the surface of the mirror but that is difficult to do. The mirror measures 21 inches across from one side to it's adjacent side. So it is 21 inches tall and 21 inches wide. I've tried to take a number of pictures so that you can judge for yourself it's quality and value.
