This is an absolutely beautiful Antique Spanish Baroque Mirror in what feels like solid plaster. This is a big and heavy one. Weighs almost 10 pounds and measures 27 inches long x 17 1/2 inches at the widest point x 2 1/2 inches at it's thickest point. Mirror looks like it's made from 1/4 inch glass. Beautifully detailed and even has a vintage repair as can be seen in the last photo which is supplied for your inspection. Made to look like it was carved from a single wood panel and is intricately painted and embellished with gold. This beautiful mirror belonged to my grandmother who died back in 1966 and all her possessions have sat in storage in my parents garage not seeing the light of day for almost 47 years. This is a nice old beveled mirror. It has a plastic type frame in a creamy yellow. It has some knicks on the frame so please look at pictures carefully. Also its so hard to take pictures of mirrors so please excuse fingers and the pictures of my camera. Its a heavy piece and it measures 21" high and 15 1/2 wide. In the pictures with the camera is because I was trying to show you the three black marks on the piece. That is all that is wrong with the mirror. If you will wait until I send you a invoice on the shipping so that I can adjust if to high or if I need to increase the cost as its large and heavy. Antique Oval Small Mirror Frame Bronze Brass? Very Heavy, Ornate, Foundry Mark
This is a very old and very heavy frame. Probably made in the late Victorian era at the end of the 19th century, or the very early 20th century. It is marked on the back 217 and in another place it looks like NB+NY- not sure about this mark, the second part is hard read. Might be NV or even IW. I believe it is bronze or brass. I have seen this frame in a larger version many times in cast iron, and those are heavy, but this one is REALLY heavy. You may have seen frames like this that are usually a foot tall or more. This is a little guy. Only 9" tall and 8" across. The frame has been fitted with a mirror which is newer. There are 3 little tabs that more easily on the back. And you could replace the mirror with glass and use it as a picture frame if you wanted. I think this frame probably had an easel-back at one time so that you ... morecould use it on a table. That has not survived the last 125 years or so. This is suitable for hanging with 2 small screws that would hold each curved piece at the top. This is great for any place you want to add a little reflection, especially nice in a grouping of mirrors. It does have some scratches on the mirror which I am sure is from how old it is. The leather on the backside is hardened from age. There are no cracks or breaks and it has a wonderful bevelling in the mirror which is very hard to picture accurately. It is 8 1/2" across and is about an 1" tall. It is pretty heavy. This is a very unique antique mirror or it could be a picture frame. I got this at an estate sale. The lady was 102 and still living. They had to put her in assisted living. She had a house full of antiques, how old this mirror is I do not know but by the looks of everything else I would say very old. I do not know what the metal is. It is very heavy, it weights over 8 lbs. so it could be cast iron? I just can not say because I do not know for sure. I was told that if a magnet stuck it was iron. The magnet sticks. It has a old mirror in it now but it could hold a picture. It has the swivel stand. It can stand or hang. The mirror has the dark spots and gray lines in it. The mirror is beveled. The lady loved purple. Everything she had was purple. The frame looks like it has been antiqued purple with a white wash, some of the brass shows through ... morea little. This Victorian gilt gesso framed mirror came from an auction in Vermont. The auctioneer dated the mirror to 1880. The mirror. Itself, has a beveled top edge, so, I am not sure if it is original to the frame. The frame measures 24 3/4 by 21 3/4 inches. The red velvet border has wearing all around. Each corner of the frame has some gesso lose, please see all pictures. The mirror is heavy. It weighs almost 12 pounds. There are cracks in the gesso all around that can only be seen on close examination. There is wear to the frame. The glass has some light marks. It is a wonderful mirror. This is a very nice antique make-up mirror. It is on a stand so it can be used on a dresser or vanity. It has a gold colored frame. It could be brass. But I'm not completely certain of the metal. It stands 13 1/2 inches tall. The mirror itself is round and is 8 inches in diameter. The mirror has two sides and can be flipped over to have either side at whatever angle is needed. This is a stunning 19th century antique solid bronze Victorian wall mirror candle holder sconce. It is made from thick/ solid bronze and is extremely heavy with a wonderful patina from age. it is a very high quality piece doubling as a mirror and has two arms in the front which hold two candles as well. the arms are connected to a very ornate stylized female face which is very dimensional and sits off of the mirror. the candle holders. Arms, and drip plates have great detailing also. the frame is very detailed with an exquisite cut out design and is very intense. the mirror has a beveled edge and has just a little ware to it. the mirror is in great shape measuring 19 inches long by 12 inches wide and sits 3 3/4 inches from the wall. it is backed with a brass plate and screwed together. very rare high quality mirror. Maker: Unknown Dimensions: 13" Tall x 8" Wide x 3-1/2" Deep Mirror size is 5-1/4" Diameter Description: This fantastic antique pedestal vanity hand mirror is made of heavy cast brass covered in silverplate. It is a double sided swivel mirror- Normal view- And magnifying views. The Art Deco metal work is beautiful- The base is designed in a floral. Leaf and rope pattern. Scrolling feather and a floral wreath run up the pedestal with a garland of flowers trailing up the sides of the stand frame. Mirror angle can be adjusted by the side screws and this comes completely apart so you can replace or clean the parts. Quite ingenious the way it is made. Up for auction is this Whytock& Reid Walnut carved mirror. Made in Edinburgh Scotland. Circa 1920. Possibly to a design by Sir Robert Lorimer. Measures 42 x 33.5" Original beveled mirror. Very heavy. Only blemish I can see is a small indent in top right but is very hard to see. Provenance: I purchased this piece from the estate of Robin Nicholson. A Scottish art historian and assistant director of the Virginia Fine Arts Museum, Richmond VA. Mr. Nicholson worked for The Fine Art Society from 1987 to 1992.
