PAIR LARGE ANTIQUE TALL ITALIAN VENETIAN GILT IRON BRASS WALL MIRROR PALLADIO?
We are very pleased to offer this magnificent pair of antique(1920s-1940s) mirrors. These large mirrors feature beautiful gilted iron and brass frames. They are very much in the Palladio. Italy style in terms of their pattern and frame design. The gilt iron frames are heavy and feature a"suspended" outer frame which is connected to the inner frame by a series of ball shaped connectors. The frames are then embellished with ornate yet simple scrolling curves on the corner sections and are topped by a gilt brass, large, fleur de lis. The mirrors are very old and because the backs are missing, they have some scratching to the mirrored coating on the backs. They are secured in the frames with the original wooden border which is fitted on the inner side of the frame on the backs of the mirrors(see picture 11) The backs of the frames are ... morefinished in red, again suggesting Palladio as this was common with Palladio mirrors. Because the backs are missing, there are no manufacturer's stickers. However, the frames are numbered on the front side in the upper section. These are exceptionally designed mirrors and frames. The finish is in very good condition with little evidence of age or wear. We can ship either with the mirrors or without. You can choose this option. The mirrors probably need to be replaced if you don't like the"aged and worn" look. I have had them hanging in my home for a while and I love the aged charm.just a personal preference. This is an old first part of the 1900s decorative mirror from a fabulous estate. Most everything in this house was from the teens or 1920s era. This is an absolutely beautiful Antique Italian Rococo Style carved wood and gesso mirror. Looks like it was carved from a single wood panel and is intricately painted with the most amazing details. So much detail. One would find details like this on a full sized piece of furniture. Hand painted with very intricate details of roses, flowers and the like. Base color is a rich deep creamy gold color which more than likely was originally an oil base white. Detailed with moss green and a profusion of red flowers embellishing this wonderful piece. Nicely varnished in clear giving this piece a wonderful warmth. Stands approximately 20 1/4 inches tall and measures approximately 12 1/2 inches wide and wood is over 1 1/2 inches at it's widest thickness. This was originally purchased by my grandmother who lived for a while in the Russian section ... morenear Knob Hill. Fantastic Italian Mirror! Wonderful small ornate and gilded mirror from Florence Italy. Mirror measures 5.5" x 4.75" and is just great. Excellent carving. The gilding is near perfect and the overall condition is excellent. One small spot of roughness to the gilding on one corner(see photos) Does not detract at all. The backside is the great traditional florentine paper that you see on most of these small mirrors. The hanging loop is missing but it would be very easy to add a wire and hang either direction. ANTIQUE FRENCH ITALIAN ROCOCO BAROQUE ANGEL DEVIL FACE CENTURION WALL MIRROR 57"
ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE MIRROR! We are pleased to offer this UNIQUE. Older vintage(mid 20th Century) French or Italian wall mirror. The exceptional mirror is MASSIVE and measures 57" tall and 40" wide. It features an extremely ornate and intricately detailed frame. The frame(an Italian Florentine type hard foam synthetic) features large acanthus leaves and drapery accents as the primary background. Large cherubs/angels are found on the upper and lower frame center. Centurions/warriors are featured(back profile with no face detail) on each center side. The North Wind face is on each lower corner and a small"devil face" is located on the bottom center of the frame and is surrounded with an acanthus leaf, heart shaped medallion. Centurion helmets, horns and drums are also found in the details as are corded strands which intertwine ... morewith the acanthus leaves. All of the features are accomplished in a very deep relief so there is an abundance of texture to the frame. The frame is finished with an oversized acanthus leaf topper. This is a beautiful frame, exceptionally detailed. The colors are cream or ivory and a rose/purple which are all"glazed" with a golden color. The mirror and frame are in very good condition. There are some very minor paint chips. But they are very hard to notice and can be easily resolved. There is nothing distracting. The glass is beveled around the edges and is free of chips, cracks or discoloration. The backing is paper(looks like it has been replaced) with two fairly new hanging brackets. THE MIRROR IS EXTREMELY HEAVY. The mirror measures as follows: The frame is 57" x 40" It is 3" deep. The mirror/glass is 35" tall and 23" wide. Due to the size. Stunning mirror that is authentic this is not a reproduction. This is carved wood and has the most beautiful leaded glass decorations to the corners. The mirror is incredible and is perfect fit over a fireplace as pictured or over a buffet cabinet! 18 inch high 52 inch long! Louis XIII style with fine floral. Scroll and dot etchings on panels and cartouches surrounding a rectangular glass mirror. The mirror's many facets catch the light and reflect various parts of the objects in the room in a very exciting and cheerful manner. The vintage feel of the mirror is the result of spotting and minor losses of some of the silver backing. The mirror itself is about 7-1/4 inches square. The mirror frame is composed by 4 quadrants and two of them are a tiny wobbly needing to be fastened at the center square in the back. Antique Italian carved and gesso baroque style gilt framed mirror
This gorgeous antique Italian mirror was made in Parma. Italy. It has a unique upside down tear drop shape with rich carvings and great gilt. The patina is so great it looks like it is made of gold(sorry, it is not) It dates to the early 1900's, but has a mirror of a later date. The frame is wood and gesso with large C scrolls and garlands. Both the frame and mirror are in very good condition with only very small signs of wear. Beautiful Vintage Ornate Black Unique French ? Italian ? Mirror
I have listed for sale a beautiful ornate vintage black either french or italian mirror. This mirror is beautiful with it's shiny black coat and is considered fine condition. I bought 2 of these mirrors at a nice estate sale and one of them I have hanging in my living room as you can see in the last photo. Both mirrors are almost identical besides a few details so you can see by the one on my wall how beautiful it will look as a stunning decor mirror.The mirror is in nice vintage shape with no damage besides a few very small rub marks on the black paint but those can easily be covered up with no problems. The mirror does not have a hanger and this would be easy to place a wire hanger on the back for hanging.The mirror is very heavy I guess a hard plastic material. Graceful. Gilded wood Neo-classical mirror, with original label on back. This mirror is in great condition it has no tear or damage on the Frame other then light small wear on the gilt that's on the frame(two places) the mirror has few age spots that is not very visible, you have to look up close to really notice it. Their is a screw missing on the metal Palladio label that I have not replaced I wanted to leave it in his original finding. This is a easy fix and up to the buyer's wishes for me to replace it. A very classic and elegant look that will complement any setting. The date of manufactory believed to be 1960. The origin of this mirror is Italy. It measurers 50" x 26" will consider best offer
