Antique Sandwich Glass Pitcher in Cranberry, with Shell Pattern - 7" Tall - Mint
Luscious color and a lovely design combine in this Sandwich glass pitcher. The pitcher is in excellent condition and works as a functional serving piece as well as a display piece. Imagine pouring lemonade or ice tea from it or placing a beautiful bunch of flowers in it. The pitcher features cranberry crackle glass in a perfectly round bowl with four impressed scallop shell designs and a clear smooth glass handle. I bought it from an antique dealer in 1969 and she attributed it to the famous Sandwich glass production. The pitcher measures 7" tall and its globe is 7" in diameter and is free of chips and cracks; there is a small age scratch on its handle. Offered is this lovely wide optic crystal lemonade or water pitcher with three matching tumblers from the early 1900s. This hand blown glass features cranberry staining on the top three-quarters of each piece. A very pale yellow colors the bottom quarter. The pitcher will hold 64 ounces or a half gallon. The tumblers will hold 8 ounces of water. Lemonade, ice tea, beer or other beverage. Both the pitcher and the tumblers are decorated with hand enameled blue-and-white flowers with yellow centers. They have gold foliage and stems. A gold band encircles each tumbler and the pitcher. Separating the cranberry from the yellow. A band of white enameled filigree appears below the gold band, which you can see in the closeup photo. Gold trim once decorated the rim of the pitcher and the tumblers but much of it has worn off. Elegant Victorian Cranberry and Clear Blown Glass Pitcher wih Stopper
A Victorian era blown glass ewer form pitcher with original stopper in cranberry and clear glass. Unmarked as far as I can tell, rough pontil and plenty of wear on the contact area on the base, pitcher measures 8 inches tall, just under 10 inches with the stopper in, stopper is 4 inches long total. Pitcher is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, nice and clean, stopper has light fritting. I've included two photos of where the upper end of the handle joins the pitcher. That's not a crack, but where clear glass meets cranberry. An elegant piece of glass looking for a sunny window, priced to go. Returns accepted for any reason. Buyer pays postage. With tiny enameled dots and scrolls separating it from the clear bottom. Twelve raised ribs are easily felt on the inside but the outside is smooth. The upper rim has a wide pie crust treatment, with deep dips between each point. Enameled design on the front looks like cherries. Hand-applied handle is crookedly attached-see pic 6-and the interior bottom has a kick-up treatment from being hand-blown, very similiar to the bottoms of old bottles. The pontil is more rough than smooth, and the pitcher sits on a slightly elevated foot. The gold ... moreaccent trim is a bit worn in spots, and the glass is loaded with bubbles of every shape and size, but the pitcher has no chips, cracks or apologies.
