This Wonderful American Brilliant Period Cruet is made out of very thick. Fine quality glass, it is decorated with deeply cut hobstars& fans, it has a crystal clear applied glass handle, and the stopper is beautifully decorated with at least 100 small facet cut surfaces. This Cruet has nice weight at 1 1/4 pounds. It measures 5 1/2 inches in height to the top of the stopper, by 3 1/2 inches in diameter across the widest portion of the body, the Stopper measures an impressive 3 1/8 inches in length, and both the cruet and the stopper are signed with a Libbey acid-etched manufacturing mark. The Quality of this Cruet is Excellent and it has seen very little use, there is a tiny nick where the handle is attached to the neck. The Stopper has just a couple of tiny nicks on the 100's of facets(please see photos) and that's it, both the cruet& stopper are in really nice condition, the glass is super shiny& bright. And there are no heat checks in the handle. American Brilliant Cut Glass info: This type of glass was produced to compete with European lines being imported into the United States. Early pieces were often unmarked so consumers wouldn't know the difference between American and European wares. Marked pieces of American Brilliant cut glass are prized by collectors with the names Hawkes and Libbey being familiar to most seasoned antiquers. Marks on cut glass can be difficult to locate and read. Identifying older. Quality cut glass can be confusing to the novice collector. Antique ABP STERLING RIM CUT GLASS PITCHER Tankard Silver AMERICAN BRILLIANT Offered for sale is this antique cut glass pitcher with a repousse sterling silver rim. It is nicely cut quality glass. Note the triple cut handle. The sterling silver was made by J.F. Fradley of New York City. Please excuse the reflections in the pictures. SIZE: The pitcher is approximately 11.5 inches tall. It weighs 3 pounds 8 ounces. CONDITION: There are a few tiny flea bites on some of the raised sharp edges of the cuts. There are some wear scratches on the bottom. The glass is mostly clear except for some faint water marks on the inside. That I have not tried to clean off. There is a small ding to the silver rim- the pen is pointing to this in the close up picture. MARKS: The silver is marked as shown. Here is a Beautiful crystal pitcher in the Harvard Pattern. This is an American Brilliant Period cut crystal pitcher.The octagonal little squares on the pitcher just shine with lustrous brilliance. When the light hits it. It shines like a shining star. The outer rim is done in the thumbprint style and there are double thumbprints on the handle. This is such a nice elegant pitcher, the photos don't do it justice. Condition: No chips or cracks. The glass is clean and clear. Because of its age. There appears to be no wear and tear from inspected. However there is a small manufacturing imperfection at the bottom of the pitcher; a short, miniscule line of bubbles. Shown in picture.
