Antique Thousand Eye Eyes Pitcher Decanter blown & pressed vintage glass EAPG
Beautiful Antique Thousand Eye Eyes Large Pitcher Decanter- a unique find- blown& pressed vintage clear glass EAPG. All of the art work and collectibles being sold by Adams-Byrd Fine Art& Antiques have been collected and selected one at a time by the proprietor. An art historian with many years of training and experience in university art history departments, museums, galleries, and historic sites both in the U.S. and abroad. In most cases the pieces offered for sale on Ebay are from the business inventory(the business has been based in the Washington, D.C. area for many years) Our inventory is extremely large, so the majority of the pieces we are putting on Ebay have never been displayed in any of our retail locations. Occasionally, we are also selling pieces from our personal collection. The art and collectibles that we are offering ... moreto Ebay buyers are special and unique pieces that have been carefully“curated” by us. This beautiful old clear glass decanter/ pitcher in the thousand eye/ eyes pattern was blown into a four part mold(and a three part mold was used for the stopper) Several companies made this pattern. So we will have to leave it up to the experts in antique glass to determine which company made this fine and rare pitcher/ decanter. The exact dating also will be left to the experts. The clarity and quality of this piece(including the blown base) indicate an early date. It is in good used condition. There are no cracks. On the bottom of the stopper. Some little marks are either very small chips or imperfections from the glass molding process. The only surface"roughness" is from the pontil marks. We have never used it; it has just been displayed. Inside, around the perimeter edge of the base, there is a slight white ring. We never washed the inside, but the new owner might want to- to make this piece even more perfect. On the stopper some of the convex eyes in one area on the lower half have little"dimples" on the tips- they did not completely fill in with glass in the mold.

Which was a decolorizer to turn the glass clear. Glass that contains manganese, when exposed to ultraviolet rays of the sun or other sources of UV rays, causes the glass to turn amethyst. Some of my amethyst bottles and glass are purpled from years of exposure to natural sunlight. Antique EAPG Silver Banded Amber Glass Lemonade Pitcher & Tumbler Set
You are bidding on an antique silver banded amber glass pitcher& tumbler set. I am not sure of the exact age. But it is very old, as referenced by the attached photos and shows expected signs of wear from age. I noted one manufacturing bubble in the pitcher and thinness on one side of the bottom from where it was lifted while being made. There is a small chip at the foot near this thin area. The silver banding on many of the tumblers has worn away. Otherwise this set is in very good condition for it's age. The pitcher stands 8" tall and is 7" at it's widest from handle to spout. The tumblers are 4" tall and 3" across at the rim. Thank you for looking& good luck bidding!
