$10.00 Shipping Location: Lancaster, United States This is a Flint Cobalt 2" Fluted Whiskey Taster or Possibly a Toy Mug with a Handle. A Finished Pontil, ca. 1850-1870s. It is 1 7/8" tall. 1 ... more11/16" in diameter at the top, 1 3/8" in diameter at the base, 2 1/8" from the end of the handle to the edge of the rim, has 10 half-flutes, a 2-part mold, and a finished(fire polished) pontil. It is a deep cobalt with just a hint of purple. It is too small to have a ring to it. There is a little bit of wear to the high points on the base. Some bubbles, a few of which are large in comparison to the glass, some straw marks, a spot to the left of the handle that has 2 or 3 brown streaks of glass that are somewhat marble-like but are too faint to see unless looked at closely, some fleabites around the inner rim as well as some roughness from the mold, and there's a small flake off the upper rim. There are close ups so please take a look at them Other than this, given its age it's in fairly good vintage condition and has no chips, cracks, bruises, fractures, or repairs. Because of the wear around the upper rim it's possible that this is a toy mug for a child rather than a whiskey taster. But whiskey tasters could be this size. So it might have been used as both. As far as color goes. This piece is among the best; especially the thick base. The glass isn't thick enough anywhere else to be able to see the rich, deep, cobalt blue and even there you have to look at it straight on to be able to see the faint hint of red that turns it a tint of purple. That's why even with the small flake on the upper rim, the color of this piece is the reason it has always had a place of honor among my favorite pieces of glass. Boston Sandwich Glass Overshot Pitcher
This is a Boston sandwich glass overshot pitcher. It is 13.5" tall and about 9" wide. The top part of the handle has been broken off and glued back on but it's only the very top edge of the handle. The handle and the rest of the pitcher show no other damage. It has an ice compartment in the pitcher. Right under the handle the vase indents in about 5.5" where the ice goes to cool the liquid inside. This is a remarkable piece with great value. It would be a stunning collectors item or a piece that you show off in your home.

The creamer was manufactured by the Boston& Sandwich Glass Company and it is in the Bellflower pattern. The creamer features a vertical ribbed pattern with bellflowers. An applied handle, a paneled stem, and a rayed base with cicular foot. This is also the more rare of the two creamers that has the pattern to the end of the lip. The creamer rings exactly as it should for old flint glass when tapped gently, and overall it stands about 6" tall. Item Condition: The overall condition of the creamer is excellent. Antique Boston and Sandwich Glass Overshot Gooseneck Champagne Pitcher 1870. Beautiful overshot Boston and Sandwich glass overshot pitcher with applied tall swan handle. A very graceful form. The pitcher is 11 1/4 inches tall by 5 1/2 inches wide. It dates to 1870- 1887. See Barlow and Kaiser, A Guide to Sandwich Glass. 1985, p 52 ff. Barlow and Kaiser note that this type of pitcher, with a bulbous body and long thin neck, proved hard to use, so not many were made. I have shown photos against both dark and light backgrounds. Antique Blue Boston and Sandwich Glass Overshot Pitcher Amber Reeded Handle 1870. Fine overshot Boston and Sandwich glass overshot pitcher with applied reeded amber handle. The pitcher is 7 inches tall by 6 inches wide. It dates to 1870- 1887. See Barlow and Kaiser. A Guide to Sandwich Glass. 1985, p 57 ff. Boston and Sandwich originally called this type of handle a"claw handle" It is one of the earliest handles I have see which was attached first at the base, not the top, which became the standard for the glass industry at the end of the 19th century. The glass frit used for overshot is clear, as always with Sandwich, except that in this pitcher there are two little drops of red glass, one on each side, that made it into the frit by accident. Antique Boston and Sandwich Glass Overshot Tankard Pitcher Reeded Handle 1870?
I am thinning out my glass collection. I am not a glass expert so am not sure the maker of this overshot tankard. I am putting a low reserve on it because I wouldn't mind keeping it, it is very nice. I looked at other pieces online to come with Boston and Sandwich, please verify yourself, it is my best guess. I do believe it is antique, vintage, I bought it from Ebay about 8 years ago. I can say it is in great condition, no cracks or chips or dirt or bad smells. Ask questions please and bid with confidence because I ebay for fun and not to make a living. BOSTON & SANDWICH CRABERRY & CLEAR OVERSHOT WATER PITCHER c1860 -1887 MINT
This is one of three pitchers I have for sale from the Boston& Sandwich Company c1860-1887. This is a beautiful collection of antique overshot glass which is flint glass rolled in crushed crystal glass. This water pitcher measures approximately 7.75" high and 6.5" across. Bearing the applied rope style handle and the colors of cranberry on upper portion. Fading down to a lighter shade, to almost clear on the bottom. Pictures were taken inside a bookcase so may not have the best lighting to reflect their beauty, but pictures include one for all three together. Thanks

Antique Art Glass Rubina Verde Pitcher Mt Washington Hobbs or Boston & Sandwich
Here is a beautiful Antique Art Glass Pitcher in Rubina(Rubena) Verde. It shares characteristics of both Hobbs and Mount Washington. Such as the square neck/mouth and reeded handle. Both makers manufactured Rubina Verde Glass( as well as Boston& Sandwich) The melon or slightly bulbed paneled body is more suggestive of Mount Washington and it's line of flow just about stops at the waist or upper body and then continues on, whereas Hobbs Pitchers have a continuous flow from body to mouth. This could possibly be from Boston and Sandwich as well but I have never come across a shape such as this which was attributed to B&S. This Pitcher is quite large standing 8 1/2" and is 7 1/2" handle to spout. The reeded handle and body glow under UV light. The pontil mark is unfinished. The neck and mouth are cased with Rubina on the ... moreexterior and White opalescent on the interior. The Rubina flows from neck. Over the upper portion of the body and mingles with the Verde a bit before flowing to all Verde on the major portion of the body. It is in excellent condition with no chips, nicks or cracks. Whatever it's origin. Either Mount Washington, Hobbs or another early Glass house, it's Antique beauty has no question! Truly a lovely and rare early Art Glass Pitcher.
