Vintage Modern Glass & Rattan Pitchers, Handblown Pair
Being offered is this rare opportunity to own a stunning. Authentic vintage modern pair of handblown glass pitchers in excellent condition. Even their rattan-wrapped handles are pristine. Note in enlarged photos. The handles are attached only on the bottoms! The tops of the handles are floating apart from the vessel walls, about 1/16" A sure mark of skilled craftsmanship. Likely never used except for home decor. These came from my grandmother who collected modern furnishings from 1950s-60s, in Pittsburgh. However, she did travel to Florida, and overseas to Europe and the Holy Land. Their are no apparent maker's marks or signatures. Could be from a design studio or a highly skilled artisan. I do not know. Inquiries welcome with new info. Larger one measures 8.5" tall x 6.5" wide. Smaller one is 5.25" tall x 4.5" ... morewide. Together. They weigh just over 2 lbs. Up for bid are: 2 VINTAGE ANTIQUE GLASS SYRUP MILK CREAMER PITCHERS w/ MEAL LIDS DATED 1916 The two pitchers are slightly different in height and design. One pitcher is 4 3/8" tall and the other is 4 1/4" tall. Both have a ribbed design with spring hinged lids. Both lids are marked. With one being very hard to read. The one that is more clearly stamped, reads Pat Aug. 22nd 1916. There are NO chips. Breaks or cracks on either of these heavy weighted pitchers. Nice varied lot. I find these patterns also in miniature and other lamps. All from Consolidated Lamp and Glass Coraopolis, PA, ca. 1890s. I call them Pine Cone, and the Guttate incorrectly I call Beaded Drape. All with lids of which 3 are patent dated, a shorter pink cased version, a pinky peach blow swirly glass, a blue cased, and a ruby glass. The shorter syrup 4 1/4" tall, the taller ones are 6 1/2" tall. The syrups all in excellent condition. No chips or cracks on the glass, handle areas clean with no problems, the blue with just a bit of old syrup inside the bottom still. Done in a beautiful milk glass alternating clear to milky spiral designs on the sides. With red colored roses on each, one can appreciate the craftsmenship that went into making these. Two Antique Amber Art Glass Small Thumbprint Pitchers
Aquired from a collector/dealer's estate. Presented for your consideration are two small art glass pitchers. They are not a matching set, however, they go well together and that is why I grouped them into a pair. Both pitchers are clear amber glass, with a thumbprint design and applied handles. In the photo, pitcher on the left has a blue handle and measures 5 1/2" tall. The pitcher on the right has a ribbed handle and measures 4 3/4" tall. I do not know the maker's or the age on either piece. The smaller one has a distinct blowpipe pontil scar on the underside with some iron residue which shows it is quite old. Both in good condition, no chips or cracks. Both pieces may need to be washed and cleaned if desired. Items are guaranteed as represented. Immediate payment via PayPal expected at auction's end.
