There is a notch in the edge of the syrup that the sterling top and hinge slides over. The syrup is 4 ¾ inches tall and the base is 2 7/8 inches wide. The sterling lid and hinge weight is 34 + grams. A Beautiful Cut Crystal Glass Syrup Dispenser/Pitcher stand 5 1/2" 3" at the base, and 1 1/2" at the opening. The lid is made of copper or brass, uncertain? and has had a bit of work on it from breakege or is just very old. Although I cannot say just how old. The glass is brilliant diamond cut and is very heavy for it's size. The bottom of this piece has something on it but we cannot make it out. But it is definently from manufacturing. it actually depends on how your mind perceives it) Very strange* My husband and I made out several different images from different angles. You are bidding on a frosted cut glass sterling silver syrup/creamer pitcher. The pitcher is in excellent condition. Except for the one mark that can be seen in the last photo. I can not find a sterling or maker's mark on the item. However. I believe this pitcher is sterling, because it was purchased at an estate sale with top quality sterling. This pitcher was placed in a miscellaneous lot of sterling pieces, and was sold as such. It is the only piece out of dozens that I purchased, and will be listing, that is not marked. I am happy to offer this marvelous American brilliant cut glass syrup. It is just 3.5" high. And it is cut in the strawberry pattern. It has tarnished silver plate fittings with floral accent. When I bought this great piece, there was a handwritten note inside it that said Higgins and Seiter, which was a well known china shop in NYC until 1915. It is nice to think that this may actually have come from there. There are no chips or cracks, and the silver plate fittings are tarnished. Be sure to check out my other syrup listings tonight. From an estate auction it appears the previous owner applied some sort of tape around the interior of the lid. Antique Syrup Pitcher with Lid Amber Cut to Clear Crystal Bohemian Glass Early DESCRIPTION This is a very attractive antique syrup pitcher with an applied lid in amber cut to clear crystal. It is obviously quality glass with an applied glass handle and a fully ground polished bottom. There is not any damage. The lid shows expected wear for it's age. And is positioned off center where it is a perfect fit for your thumb to hit using your right hand. This would not be handy using the left hand, so I guess it would be considered a right-handed pitcher) The spring in the lid is good. The syrup pitcher is approximately 4 3/4 inches tall and about 4 inches in diameter at the widest point. The diameter of the base is 2 3/4 inches. The weight is just over one pound- nice and heavy as it should be for good crystal. This is a very pretty little ... moresyrup that falls in the Bohemian crystal category and would probably date to somewhere between 1880 and 1910.
