This castor is 12 1/2" tall and stands on 4 ornate feet. The jar is in the"Daisy and Buttons" pattern. Normally called"Vaseline" or"Uranium" It glows brightly under black light lamps. This is one of the more stunning vaseline jars I've seen in many years. It glows with natural sun light alone. All the photos provided were taken with natural sun light shining through a nearby window except photo#4. Which obviously was taken with a black light lamp nearby. There are no chips. Nicks, cracks or stains in this jar. The"W" representing L.G. Wright, is imprinted on the inside base as shown on last photo. The lid is probably not original and fits tightly. The silver plating on the tongs. Lid and frame is in great condition and I have no reports of any damage or abuse. Please do not assume I am an expert with the items I sell or that pickle castors are all original or"Mint" Unless specified as such. Many pickle castors on the market from the 1870's to the early 1900's have had parts replaced or changed out, due to breakage, lost tongs/forks or damaged parts. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN VASELINE SATIN ART GLASS EWER PITCHER ~ENAMELED & JEWELED
We offer a most beautiful Victorian Vaseline enameled Ewer Pitcher. This Antique Art Glass Ewer has a great cased glass satin look. When put under a black light. This pitcher glows with its vaseline chemistry. The inside is a beautiful White MOP Satin Glass. The outside also has tiny coralene beads making up a babies breath type of flowered decoration. The main decoration is the enameled butterfly on the centerof the base. The cased glass edge is clear and has a wonderful double ruffle that makes the spout stand out pointing upward. This piece is in very fine condtion.There are no cracks. Chips or repairs we can find. We have not yet found a signiture but believe it may be attributed to Thomas Webb. The piece is in very good condition with only normal wear for a 19th century piece. There is a hand polished pontil mark on the bottom. ANTIQUE VASELINE URANIUM GREEN & AMBER GLASS WATER PITCHER WITH LID STEUBEN?
If there is any such thing as a beautiful water pitcher this is it. It's striking. The green uranium glass is gorgeous& the applied amber/topaz handle is equally nice. Excellent quality. Thick& heavy glass. The pitcher is 9 1/4" high. About 10 1/4" with the lid. 4 1/2" across opening, base is 5" across. There is a subtle wide panel or rib effect. Unfortunately there is a chip mainly on the underside of the lid(pics 11& 12) I have searched& have only found one similar& it was Steuben. I believe it is Steuben because of the shape. The applied handle& the way the lid fits, my Mother collected Steuben, but I am not positive, you will have to decide. In"THE GLASS OF FREDERICK CARDER by Paul Gardner in the back of the book in catalog line drawings, page 213#5099 is a very close example. Also ... morepage 214 are two more close examples. It has a lovely pattern of slightly muted hobnails on all sides. The stopper is in good condition as well with just a slight roughness at the stoppers edge With the stopper in place it measures 7 3/4 inches in height. Vintage Green Vaseoline Depression Uranium Glass Beverage 2 Quart Pitcher with Guilded Sterling Silver Grape leaves. It is in excellent condition. There are no nicks or chips. There is however the normal wear that is found on something of this age. It is a very nice piece with its beautiful lines. The SS Guild adds and extra glimmer.
