A nice old vintage Wood and Gesso ornate picture mirror frame. It is in good condition with some signs of wear and some losses to the applied decorations. It is marked by the maker with a metal tag on the reverse side for Narcissus Mirrors. This large mirror measures 3 feet 1 inch high and 1 foot 11 inches wide. The inner opening measures 2 feet 6 inches high and 1 foot 6 inches wide. It has a nice look like that of the frames on Maxfield Parrish Prints from the Art Deco Nouveau periods. NO RESERVE… This auction is for a handsome old Art Deco Era Reverse Mirror Picture Frame. The entire frame measures approx. 15 1/2 inch wide. About 10 1/2 inch tall at the center, and the color I would call Champagne. The picture size opening is approx. 6 5/8 inch by as bout 4 3/4 inch. There is a lot of light reflection in my pictures, so you may have to look very close at them. I have used a yellow pencil to point at the lower left corner. I am trying to point out a small chip on that corner. The glass is thick and has beveled edges. There are 4 metal threaded posts that hold the frame together, and have a thread nut on the back of the frame. I have used a yellow pencil to point at on e of the posts to try and point out surface corrosion on the metal. This fun little country survivor dates ca. 1830-1850 and is crafted of soft wood(poplar? Pine? with original two tone red grain painted surface and brass hanging loop. It measures only 6 ½” x 5 ½” overall with 4 ½” x 3 ½” reveal and 5” x 4” back opening and houses an antique glass mirror pane with badly fogged silver. The construction is all wrought nail and it retains its old thin wood back held in place with square nails. Outstanding Victorian Era Rare Stick and Ball Mirror or Picture frame
Up for auction is one very sweet wooden frame I would estimate was made in the 1880's-1890's. This frame is a very large 46" tall x 34" wide at the bottom x 39.25" wide at the topx 2.25" deep. Frame is in excellent condition except for a piece of rail that has been damaged. This is easily replaced and made perfect again. This frame is very tight. And I know how it will look against a painted wall or over a mantel as a mantel mirror, or as a large bathroom or entrance mirror. You will not find another on Ebay, it's very unique. Antique easil beveled mirror/picture frame heavy iron purple antiqued
This is a very unique antique mirror or it could be a picture frame. I got this at an estate sale. The lady was 102 and still living. They had to put her in assisted living. She had a house full of antiques, how old this mirror is I do not know but by the looks of everything else I would say very old. I do not know what the metal is. It is very heavy, it weights over 8 lbs. so it could be cast iron? I just can not say because I do not know for sure. I was told that if a magnet stuck it was iron. The magnet sticks. It has a old mirror in it now but it could hold a picture. It has the swivel stand. It can stand or hang. The mirror has the dark spots and gray lines in it. The mirror is beveled. The lady loved purple. Everything she had was purple. The frame looks like it has been antiqued purple with a white wash, some of the brass shows through ... morea little. Around 130 + years old. Deeply bevelled, original mirror, wood backing, hanging wire. Spectacular leafy vine carving all around. Frame has great depth. Antique American Fort Dearborn Chicago pewter picture frame
For auction is a very ornate pressed pewter picture frame with original? bevel glass cover. I have attempted to photograph the detail in this frame so the pictures for the better part of my description. Stamped in the lower part of the frame(and photographed) is"CHICAGO ILL. U.S.A 1830 FORT DEARBORN 1893" I cannot find a makers name. This frame being a soft metal now more than a century old does have some imperfections. It likely has a glossy EPNS or silver pained finish which now only remains in the deeper part of the ornamentation. The most raised part of the ornamentation has possibly lost some detail through dusting and polishing and the flat back(behind where a picture would sit) has been pushed in by the supporting arm. From the Estate of a lady that lived for many years in the Phillipine Islands. An Antique Wood Hand Carved Mirror or Picture Frame. She Collected Antiques from that area and bought most of them back to the US. I have several other of her items listed on ebay. This Frame is super Ornate. Not sure if it can be classified as Art Deco or not. the Frame measures 36 1/2 inches by 25 inches on the outside. the inside measurements(the opening for the mirror or picture) in 24 3/4 by 19 1/2 at the widest points. there is a wood back board for this frame but it is not original to the piece. there is a crack from natural ageing near the top on the right side( the last picture) but it does not go all of the way through the frame. searched ebay and could not find anything similar. the frame has a light finish of some kind. there is no paint or gilt. This most unusual cherry wood and walnut hand cut folk art cupboard/mirror dates from the 1870s-80s and measures 10” tall x 7” x 1 ¼” deep. The door boasts delicately cut rose arabesques framing a central heraldic crest and when it is opened reveals a period mirror glass framed with original lemon gold molding.
