Creating a wonderful shabby look. The mirrored tray has four ornate french feet and two fancy French handles. The mirror has ghosting, scratches, silver loss, and age related marks creating a most desirable shabby mirror. There is one bolt/nut missing on the bottom of the tray. The bottom of the tray is wood and there is some faint writing on the bottom(See pic) The entire tray including the handles measures approximately 13" long by 8 inches wide. I bought 2 of these mirrors at a nice estate sale and one of them I have hanging in my living room as you can see in the last photo. Both mirrors are almost identical besides a few details so you can see by the one on my wall how beautiful it will look as a stunning decor mirror.The mirror is in nice vintage shape with no damage besides a few very small rub marks on the black paint but those can easily be covered up with no problems. Exceptional unique detail VERY ORNATE Large 39 1/2" tall x approx. 24 3/4" wide Heavy Wall mirror gold Appears Original paint and patina glass great shape( ignore leaf in 2nd photo) every area and corner etc is very wonderful designs( cant possibly show it all) I believe middle to late 19 th Century or possibly turn of century. Top has a heraldry type family crest? and flag stripes. Decorated with scrolls. I believe Roses with one rose each side top. acanthus? flowers. Grapes, leaves ormolu? There are 4 dowels with points pointing diagonally. Not sure what they represent. Gold plaster gesso gilted. Plaster gesso over wood ... moreframe and some carved wood I believe on sides with gesso over that. Age distressed but sound and sturdy no major damage nothing missing. Except as noted. Separated 3 places as seen in photos 2 on bottom, 1 on side. This is where the wood joints are. 2 of the dowels do not go in all the way possibly too long. The tips of two pointing upward have some old repair on them. Piece of plaster missing on top end. Seen in photo. Several other minor chips area of plaster loss. Very good overall. Minor to moderate wear. Cracks could be filled in and brighter heavy gold could possibly hide lot of this. The plaster could be repaired or enjoy the way it is. Later glass not beveled. Decorated on sides. art nouveau. Sold as-is condition. dark bronze color over gold. Appears possibly original wood backing. Modern screws holding this in. You supply hanger and wire. Recent estate find: selling a magnificent antique early 1900's FRENCH silver mirror frame. Originally there was a pair of these mirrors- one still had the original double beveled edge mirror intact(which I didn't get) and mine is just the frame. But wow- what a gorgeous frame! This is extremely good quality- very thick and very heavy! Pictures cannot do justice! Can still be used as a picture frame as is or one can add a mirror inside. This mirror frame dates from the Victorian era- early 1900's from France. The metal appears like silver but it may be a silver alloy metal- have not had tested. I also didn't see any marks. Frame has a stand in back so it can stand up also has a wire so it can be hung on wall. Mirror frame measures 19" in height and 12" width(widest part) It is in excellent condition. Charming ornate French wood mirror with ormolu mountings II
This French mirror is one of a pair. The other one is slightly different in color and about ½” narrower. So they are not an exact pair, but the ormolu mountings are the same and the overall appearance could make them work. They are listed separately. Both date from the late 19th century and were found in France. This one is the lighter wood one(see last photo for the pair) possibly maple, and very pretty. The ormolu mounting on the top is in the shape of flowers. The frame is wood and on the bottom is another smaller mounting. Shabby GORGEOUS Antique BARBOLA Roses SWAGS Gesso ORNATE French WALL Mirror CHIC
Offered is this gorgeous antique wall mirror! Features a distressed/chippy off white paint. Two generous rose swags, ornate topper, arched top, wood frame and a wire on back for easy wall mounting. Measures about 27.5" tall and 14" wide. This is a very old mirror that has amazing character but is not perfect. There are a couple of areas in the gesso that looks like it has been repaired and some cracking on the back side of the rose swags but those aren't seen or go all the way through to the front. The mirror has some slightly rough edges and has some silvering loss in areas/streaking on the mirror but is to be expected with a mirror of this age. I am not sure of the exact age but I purchased this at an auction for my own home and was told it is from the 1920's. All in all despite the flaws this mirror shines and is absolutely ... morelovely! This is such a fabulous vintage mid century French style mirror! ~ The mirror itself is most likely more oval in shape and the gorgeous frame appears to be a wood with a thick resin design overlay which is very well made and not easily chipped ~ the decorative frame has what appears to be an original factory finish of a wonderful romantic green with many beige or tan highlights ~ it is so curvy with gorgeous carved designs of roses. French scrolls and ruffles, smaller open garden flowers, and many swirls ~ the left and right sides have somewhat of a outward point edge and this is the largest area of the framed mirror measuring 69 and 1/2 inches long ~ the top has a beautiful scrolling crest design and measuring from the top if it to the scroll at the middle bottom we have 43 inches-the lower frame drops several inches below the middle scroll ... morebut so does the top of the frame so the longest area is from the crest top to bottom ~ the decorative frame measures anywhere from 2.5 inches to 6 inches ~ there are hangers on the back. This is a beautiful vintage Victorian style cast iron picture frame. It originally had a gold finish. But most of it has worn off which gives it a wonderful antique look. The insert measures 5 1/2" x 4" The frame measures 12" tall and 9" wide. Weighs 1 pound 13 ounces.
