One of a kind partially refinished solid wood carved ornate gold leaf mirror. Not certain of exact age of the original frame. The frame is believed to be originally manufactured in Mexico and has lovely ornate Spanish style carved decoration in good shape. Frame and finished corners are solid. The frame has recently been partially refinished with Dutch metal/composition gold leaf over red bole to match the original finish. The finish has a really nice patina and lots of luster. Very classy r efinished ornate antique gold leaf mirror. Not certain of exact age of original frame. But I would guess at least 50-60 years old based on the patina on the original frame and mirror glass. Frame and finished corners are solid. As well as the ornate decorations. The frame has been recently refinished with hand applied dutch metal/composition metal leaf with glazing. The frame comes with the original thick mirror glass. The mirror has some imperfections that happen with age as seen in the photos, but I have left the original mirror because some find this desirable. I finally decided to part with my great aunt's antique heavy ornate wall mirror. Antique Gold Leaf Wood& Gesso Wall Mirror. This mirror is just gorgeous and has been well maintained. The glass is in good condition.no chips. No cracks, no hairlines etc. The mirror needs to be cleaned. I have limited space, and that's why I'm selling it. There is a small water damage on one corner at the top right but when it's hanging the wall- no one can't tell. One corner of the mirror the same top right- a portion of wood approximately 1/2" x 1/2" wood came off. My mom. One time, when the gold was oxidized from age, had it restored with new gold leaf sheets. It hangs on the wall with wire which is intact. We are pleased to offer this very rare. Exceptional piece. This offering features a 1950s a large, gold leaf/gilded frame large wall mirror with attached gilded iron 3 arm wall lamp/sconce. This incredible mirror/sconce is European made and is marked with the Ferracolor, Made in Spain, metal tag which is still attached to the sconce. This is an exceptionally rare and beautiful piece. The mirror is large and the giltwood frame is quite ornate. It features an intricately carved wood frame with Neoclassical design. It is accented with acanthus leaf scrolls, curved lines and a carved shell in the center bottom. The large, 3 light iron sconce features wheat leaves with acanthus leaf accents found under each lighted arm of the sconce. All are gold gilded and are in exceptional condition. There is expected aging to the iron sconce in just a couple ... moreof areas, but overall it still maintains its beautiful and original gold finish. The mirror frame is in immaculate condition for its age. It shows only minor aging in just a few spots but nothing that is easy to see except upon very close inspection. The mirror has some aging at the top in the form of a cloudy, lightly spotted appearance(see pictures 9& 10) Again, this does not stand out much except with close inspection. Otherwise, very good to excellent condition. The sconce is attached. Through the mirror with screws. It has been given the ability for the sconce to move a little for adjustment. The power cord features an on/off switch. It is vintage, but in good condition and the sconce is working perfectly. I have pictured with only one lighted bulb as 3 makes it a little too bright to photograph well. The mirror frame measures 38.5" wide and 34.5" tall. The sconce is 34.5" wide and measures 6" tall at the tallest leafed section and 7.5" tall at the center arm. Ferracolor pieces are exceptional in quality and extremely hard to find. This offering is for a beautiful and OLD. Victorian/Arts& Crafts large wall or mantel mirror. This gorgeous mirror features a substantial(chunky, if you will) solid wood frame made of turned wood with a center section of French or Barley twist accent. Trimmed similarly to an old window or door, the frame has four large corner blocks with an Arts and Crafts styled floral bouquet/basket appliques. The spool wood is hand fitted into the back wood frame which is also thick and substantial. The frame has been gilded and the color is now a beautiful, aged gold or bronzed color. The mirror is in very good condition for its age(early 1900s) There is some expected wear/aging to the patina of the wood. There are some minor scratches and chips but these are not distracting and actually compliment the character of the piece. There appears to have ... morebeen one minor repair to the frame where it meets the mirror. It appears as a piece was cracked and has been glued to secure it(see picture 11) It is holding quite well with no issues. The back is faced with paper. The old hangers have been removed with a center hanger attached. I think the mirror is too heavy for a single hanger so you may want to add an additional hanger. The mirror is meant to hang horizontally as the corner floral baskets dictate this(otherwise, they will hang side ways) The mirrored glass is in good condition with no chips, cracks or loss of back coating. The mirror is large and measures 41" wide and 21" tall. It extends 2.75" from the wall. The mirror glass is 33.5" x 13.75" The mirror is heavy and weighs approximately 25-30 lbs. Antique Beautiful Floor Mirror - Gold Leaf
We initially paid $1.000 for the mirror 25 years ago. It was bought from an antique store in Los Gatos, CA. The mirror itself is good quality and very thick. The frame is gold leaf and borders all four lengths of the mirror. The mirror is very heavy(150 pounds) and is about 6'10" tall and 3' wide. It will be sold to the best offer and to only those buyers who are local or that can arrange for its pick up. Basically I will not ship this mirror- the last antique item I sold cost a fortune for shipping.
