Small Shabby 23"x15" Antique Art Nouveau Gesso & Wood Petite Gold Gilt Mirror
Original early century art nouveau frame which measures 23" high and 14-5/8" wide in good strong condition over-all. As can be seen in the close-up photos of the top. There is a separation in the gesso(and this could be an over-lay of carved wood rather than gesso- can't tell for sure as the finish is adhering quite well and this separation does not weaken or compromise the integrity of the mirror- it's still retains its strength) The mirror, when seen from the bottom looking up, is a bit wavy. It may be and probably is the original mirror. As can be seen on the back there was moisture on the finish piece and the mirror is not affected by this. The wire on the back is doubled and old. but looks like it will serve its intended purpose for some time to come.

Victorian era Gesso/gold gilt mirror EXCELLENT
This is a fine antique Victorian era mirror in gold gilted Gesso. As you can see in the pictures most of the gesso work is near perfect for its age, in the last 2 pictures it may some aging(minor fissures) but nothing that is really noticable. The mirror came from the same estate as the table its on(not for sale) and the piece is an excellent example of that era, mirror has no flaking or crazing of any kind, I CANNOT include freeshipping on this item because it must be packed well and carefully so no damage occurs, must be insured as well, dimensions are 28" 1/2 inches wide x 20" 1/2 inches high measured by mirror, a little higher if on center because of ornate top, so add about another 4" inches if you are interested in on center. Large Antique Original Rococo Revival Wall Mirror: Gold Gilt Gesso; c 1840-70
This period Victorian Rococo Revival wall mirror dates from c.1840-1870. It is conducted of wood covered with gold gilt gesso. There are ornate carvings of floral designs(see pictures 4-8) and four desirable grape clusters(see picture 8 for an example) And the scrolled crest is very detailed and certainly accents the remainder of the frame. The mirror and frame is in good original found condition. The mirror itself is in very good condition with no known cracks or other damage. The wear is consistent and appropriate for the age and use. There are some minor chips of gesso and one section(see picture 9) has some small breaks in the gesso. In picture 10, there is one piece that would need to be reattached. The gold gilt paint is consistent over the entire frame and is still a good vibrant color. The original back is wooden and has the original ... morehanging wire( see picture 11) The approx. measurements are: 69" L; 32" W; and sets out from the wall a maximum 11 3/4" With a minimal amount of restoration, this period mirror would be the focal point in any setting. This is an excellent antique wall mirror in a wooden gold gilt frame with floral gesso accents and border all the way around. It looks like the gold was re-painted and there is only one tiny chip missing from the frame and one spot that was touched up. Otherwise, it is near-perfect. The mirror is also excellent, thick and heavy, crystal clear throughout, with only a few small black spots from age. The paper is intact on the back and there is a wire attached for wall hanging. The outer dimensions of the frame are 14 1/4" x 29 1/2" I will pack it very well, double box it, and insure it during shipping.

On sale this week is a beautiful old acid etched mirror. Depicts what looks like a saint. You can see the halo over her head. Lovely long flowing gown with flowers on both sides. She is holding something but I'm sure what it is. The frame is awesome. Nice patina on this old gilt. Made of a very lightweight wood/gesso material. It has a holy water font on the front. I'm sure it would have had a liner of some sort at one time but is now missing. I kept some Rosary beads in there. Please check out all of the photos to help with the description. There is some natural crackling from age and where someone had hung with a wire it has thinned on the middle area. Excellent Antique Gold Gilt Wood & Gesso Framed Rectangular Beveled Wall Mirror
This is an excellent antique rectangular wall mirror with an elegant gold gilt wooden frame with floral gesso accents. Both frame and mirror are in very good condition. There is no missing gesso on the frame. But it does look like it was re-painted a few times. The paint is a nice, rich, metallic gold that is smooth and even, and a good color for the age of the mirror. The glass is beveled and seems heavy and thick, images are clear throughout, but it has a faint streakiness to it with a few tiny specks of missing silver. The back has been re-covered with paper and there is a wire for wall hanging. The outer dimensions of the frame are 17 3/4" L x 31 3/4" H, and the mirror measures 14" x 26" I will pack it very well, double box it, and insure it during shipping.

Antique Victorian Gold Gilt Wood Gesso Framed 3 Section Etched Wall Mirror
This is a stunning Victorian wall mirror with an elegant gold gilt wooden frame with gesso accents that is separates the mirror into three sections. There is a beautiful floral and stripe border etched into the back of the glass on each end. The mirror is in good condition overall with a few small spots of missing silver and faint cloudiness in a few areas. But mages look crystal clear throughout. There are some shallow scratches and scuffs on the far right mirror section that is slightly visible in the photo of that section. The frame is excellent with no missing gesso. The gold finish looks very good with only a few touch ups that were done in matching paint and are not obvious. There are a few tiny chips of paint missing, but they are not noticeable unless closely inspected. This is a long mirror, measuring 54" L x 18" H. There ... moreis a wire on the back for hanging, but it is a little bit long and is visible when the mirror is hung. The paper backing is no longer intact, but the cardboard panel is there and there are small square nails all the way around holding the cardboard and glass in place. I have wedged some extra cardboard pieces behind some of the nails that were touching the glass, and I will make sure to fill in any loose spots or exposed glass on the back with extra cardboard before shipping. I will place pillows over the top, wrap it well, double box it, and insure it during shipping.

This gorgeous antique Italian mirror was made in Parma. Italy. It has a unique upside down tear drop shape with rich carvings and great gilt. Antique Vintage Gold Gilt Wood & Gesso Framed Floral Etched Wall Mirror
This is a charming antique wall mirror with elegant floral gesso accents on the top and bottom of the frame. A beaded scroll and leaf pattern etched into the back of the glass at the top of the mirror, and three flower screws holding the mirror snugly in place on the frame. Overall condition is very good with no missing silver on the mirror or gesso on the frame, and only very light, almost completely unnoticeable cloudiness and a couple tiny black spots on the glass. There are a few scuff marks on the outside edge of the frame where the pink primer is showing through. It still looks fantastic as-is but could be easily touched up. The cardboard backing is intact with a tear along one side. There is a wire attached for wall hanging. The outer measurements including the frame are 12" W x 28" H. The gold has an aged look and there are some spots here and there where the paint has worn away. Especially on the bottom edge(see pictures 9-10) which gives it a slightly shabby appearance. One area where the gesso has chipped off on a petal(bottom left, picture 8) Also an indentation in the wood to the right of that(manufacturing flaw- picture 8) Apart from that everything else is in good shape. This Victorian gilt gesso framed mirror came from an auction in Vermont. The auctioneer dated the mirror to 1880. The mirror. Itself, has a beveled top edge, so, I am not sure if it is original to the frame. The frame measures 24 3/4 by 21 3/4 inches. The red velvet border has wearing all around. Each corner of the frame has some gesso lose, please see all pictures. The mirror is heavy. It weighs almost 12 pounds. There are cracks in the gesso all around that can only be seen on close examination. There is wear to the frame. The glass has some light marks. It is a wonderful mirror. Corners under the print, and middle of the bottom edge, all of which is in good vintage condition. The frame is gold gilt with a recessed burgundy band all the way around the middle. There is very little paint loss, just a few minor scuffs and scratches. The mirror is in good condition, crystal clear images throughout, and only tiny specks of missing silver. This is a vintage gold gilt wood wall mirror. Recently purchased at an estate sale. I am unsure of it's age. The corners are chipped a bit leading me to believe it is gesso. This can be seen in the pictures. Also there is a spot of glue residue on the mirror itself that will need to be removed. The mirror measures 11 3/4" X 9 1/2" and there is a sturdy wire for hanging. Gorgeous 19th Century Eduard Keller Finely Carved Gilt Wood & Gesso Mirror
Gorgeous antique gilt gesso and wood framed mirror dating from what I believe is the mid to late 19th century. Could be earlier I have no idea. I have investigated the label on back, but I have been unable to find out anything about it but I am sure it is European. It reads what I believe is Eduard Keller with Meissen/Heissen? underneath. There are more words underneath that which I cannot read. If you have any information you can share on this, please do so! I am very interested to know the origins. Offered at no reserve due to lack of knowledge regarding the maker or history. For the age, in really fine shape but it could use some slight restoration on some of the corners and some of the gilt in a few areas and it looks like there are a few areas of old attempts at restoration. One corner needs to be just pounded together as it is coming ... moreapart slightly, still VERY sturdy though. I am not sure the age of the actual glass mirror, but there are a few small black age specks within the mirror. There are many restorers that can fix the issues it has and it will look even more fabulous. It measures a huge 43.25" wide by 34.5" tall by 3" deep. Antique Victorian Convex Gold Gilt Wood Gesso Federal Eagle Framed Wall Mirror
This is a fantastic antique Federal Eagle crested convex wall mirror with 13 balls around the frame signifying the 13 colonies. It is an original antique piece from around the turn of the century. The frame and glass are in excellent condition. Nothing is missing, or broken, the gesso is 100% complete, the crest and decorative piece on the bottom are tightly intact and not loose or cracked, and the mirror doesn't have any missing silver or age spots. The frame might have been re-painted at one time, but if it was, it was long ago and not obvious. Some of the 13 balls have recently been touched up where the paint was chipped(shown in the close-up of the ball) but the touchup paint matches nicely. The gesso has some shallow hairline cracks typical for its age, but nothing is loose. One of the eagle's wingtips has a small area of paint ... morechipped off. There is a new piece of cardboard and new nails on the back along with new eye hooks and a new hanging wire(in my opinion though, the hooks are too small and the wire is too thin so replacements might be necessary. The outer dimensions of the frame are 31" H x 21" W. It will be packed very well. Double boxed, and insured during shipping. It is guaranteed to arrive safely.

This is in good vintagecondition. Dusty, and intact; some signs of use and small cracks, as I have tried to illustrate this in my photos. Vintage 13" x 10 3/4" Oval Gold Wall Mirror. The mirror has some cloudiness that older mirrors tend to get. There is an area of missing gesso detail on the outer rim.
