ANTIQUE VINTAGE FEDERAL BULLS EYE EAGLE CONVEX MIRROR - ORNATE & LARGE WWII ERA
Nice Federal Style Eagle Topped Convex Mirror with 13 Balls representing the original 13 Colonies Made during WWII Era This is a great piece of history. I thought about restoring it and I still might if it does not sell in the next month or so. I just have too many other projects going right now. Back of the glass is dated 1941 as seen in the pictures. Mirro r measures approx. 29" Tall and 22" Wide Antique Convex Glass is in nice shape. I checked it over and did not find any cracks or chips in it. As you can see. The mirrored silvering is starting to wear. I think it adds character and helps show the mirror's age, but you could have it re-silvered to like new condition if that is what you are looking for. The exterior wood rim is in really good shape. There are some small signs of age and use and I imagine transport wear. The ... moreEagle up top is in really nice shape with 1 small spot of plaster that has chippe d. Hard to notice. The wreath at the bottom of the mirror has 1 small chip of plaster as seen in the pictures. There is paint wear on the 13 balls surrounding the mirror. I think that this mirror is unique in that it is not the bright gold finish. It is more of a"copper" or"dull gold" finish. One could refinish it into the bright gold that you see if that is to your liking. It is the"plasterized frame" which means that a small coat of plaster was spread over the wood frame prior to painting Other than that. Please take a good look at the pictures and determine if this mirror is right for you. I have seen these mirrors sell for $250 up to $1.500. Just depends on finding the right buyer at the right time. My starting price leaves you plenty of room to make money if you are thinking about restoring it and also serves as a solid investment if not. Antique 1870s BLACK FOREST Relief Carved Eagle Top Wood Frame OAK WALL MIRROR
I have up for sale a rare and beautiful vintage circa 1860s- 1880s Black Forest hand carved Hanging Wall Mirror. I believe that the frame is made of Oak- its relief carved with a bird. Possibly an Eagle on top. The bird has a glass eye and the talons are fixed on to a log. It measures approx 26-1/2" measured from the tip of the wing to the bottom of the vertical section of the frame,its approx 17-1/4" wide. The bird itself protrudes outward just over 4" The glass mirror itself measures approx 16-1/4" x 9" The frame is in very nice estate fresh as found condition. I am quite sure that the finish is the old original. Regardless it looks wonderful. It has a nice warm patina and recessed areas have darker coloration. Overall the frame is in Great Condition- other than some wear/small chip to the end tip of the birds beak ... morethe wood is in fantastic shape. Wear is light, the frame was well taken care of. The glass mirror is excellent- no silvering issues- no damages. I see that the bird is attached with 2 screws in the back. When I package it. I will take if off and package it separately. Up for auction is a vintage round iron American Eagle Framed Mirror. The framed mirror sticks to a magnet and is very heavy and therefore. I believe it is made of iron. The mirror is a flat mirror and NOT beveled or convex. There are stars around the mirror. I know very little about this item and as far as its history or age, I will leave that to the viewer. Description: Up for Sale is a beautiful Federal style Colonial Eagle convex“bullseye” or girandole mirror with 13 cannonballs surrounding the mirror for the 13 original American Colonies. The frame is made of wood and sculptured gesso with a gold finish. From the construction I would guess it is from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. It measures approximately 36" tall x 22 1/2" across with the mirror being approximately 18" across This item is pre-owned with normal wear you would expect on a piece of this age. It looks like a portion of the laurel wreath/vine on one side of the eagle has been repaired and the same goes for one part of the flourish below the mirror. The gesso is otherwise free of breaks or chipping but it looks like the paint has been retouch over the years in a few spots. The mirror is free of breaks. Cracks, ... morechips or silver flaking. The mirror itself looks to be in great shape as you can see in my pictures. Please look at all my pictures to judge color and condition for yourself. Very Large 32 1/2" Federalist Eagle Gold Convex Wall Mirror, Wood Frame Very Old
This mirror is in excellent condition. The glass is as close to mint as you can get. No fog, no scratches, no spots, no loss of reflective material. You can see where the mirror has been cleaned over the years. The frame is a wood frame mirror: 32.5" in height, 23 3/8" wide, and the convex mirror is 17 inches. The frame has just a tiny bit of age checking that you have to almost have your nose to the glass to see. There are some slight discoloration with the gold that would be typical of age. I have tried to show that in the photos. There is no loss of gold paint. But it looks to have had some retouches done over the years. I have no idea as to its age, but it looks to be old. Small Antique Vintage Sheraton Split Panel Mirror Reverse Painting Eagle Top
This split panel mirror with reverse painting came from an auction in Vermont. The mirror measures 20 1/4" tall without the eagle top and 10 3/4" wide. The painting is of a home in the country. Some of the paint has come off the painting. See the 4th picture. There are some marks on the glass. The gilt and black split column frame has quite a bit of wear and some dings and cracks, see all pictures. Both pieces of glass are loose in the frame. I am unsure of it's age.

this is a stunning vintage hand carved wooden convex wall mirror. it is a very large mirror and has a wonderful gold gilt finish. the mirror is circular and has a convex domed shape. the top is a large very ornate eagle with wings spread. He stands on the mirror with a long olive leaf in hand. the mirror has many dimensional spheres running around the whole border of the frame. the bottom also has very dimensional ornate detailing with a stylized floral design. the frame measures 30 3/4 by 22 1/2 inches. already has a hanging wire on the back ready for mounting. it is in great shape and no pieces missing. the actual convex mirror is fading a bit but still does work as a mirror. In very good used and vintage condition, there are a few small spots of missing gesso along the edges. In addition, there are some black age spots on the mirror itself. Estate found. 1890-1920 Brass Tabletop Mirror with an embossed Spread Eagle on the top and a fierce Lion head on the bottom. The heart or shield shape brass frame measures 10 1/4" ht x 7" width. The 1/4" thick mirror measures 5 7/8" x 4" width. Still in excellent condition with no damage. Appears to have been made in England as there is an old"Rd" patent number on the backside corner of one leg.

Vintage Federal Eagle Convex Wood Mirror We are very excited to offer for auction a vintage Federal Convex Mirror. This bulls eye mirror is constructed of wood and measures 25" tall(from the top of the eagles wing to the bottom of knot of the frame) and 17 5/8" at widest point in diameter. The mirror itself is approximately 13" in diameter. The mirror has darkened to an antiqued silvery tone and may even be mercury glass as there is a gray coating visible on the edges of the back side. Due to age there is not a super bright or high reflection off this mirror. The eagle and laurel details are beautifully carved with very nice detail. There is evidence of age but it has a great look and really adds characater to a room. Condition: There are some condition issues and I have taken that into account with my starting price. There ... moreare a some cracks in the gesso and some surface paint loss on the top of the balls as well as the tip of the right wing of the eagle. There are two cracks on the wood backing of the laurel but it does not move and is very stable. It does look like some of the laurel have been re-attached(glued) on the left top side but there are no missing pieces. There is also a repainted area on the right upper portion of the circular frame(I assume to cover some dings) as well a small amount on the laurel that touches that edge. Eagle Mirror (Federal ?) Wood & Plaster
This mirror measures 13 inches from the top of the eagles head to the bottom of the mirror and 10 inches across. There is one small chip in the gold under the left side of the eagles wing and one small chip under the decoration on the bottom of the mirror. The mirror is made of wood with a gold overlay(plaster? Overall in pretty nice condition for it's age. The paper has ripped on the back of the mirror as shown in the photos. 1890's Victorian Beveled Pier Mirror with Carved Eagle on Top, 105" Tall
This is an old Original 1890's Victorian Pier Mirror in Beautiful Condition with a carved Eagle on top. Measures about 105" tall. 36" at the widest part, and 12" deep. Has been repainted gold, all trim and carvings look to be there and in good condition. Has the original beveled mirror in nice condition with minor spots of missing silver. The top is beautifully carved with a fantastic eagle perched at the very top. I think the top is made of plaster, like the old frames, as it is formed on about a 45 degree angle. Antique hand carved Federal Eagle Convex round mirror in hand carved gilded wood. The mirror looks very old and we believe it to date from the late 1800's. We took lots of pictures so that the people interested can appreciate the way it is made and be able to estimate its age. The frame is all hand carved wood with a gold gilt surface. The convex glass is in excellent condition with very mild interior discoloration from age that hardly shows. The overall measurements are 32" high X 22" wide. The mirror only is 17 1/2" in diameter. As one can see clearly from all our pictures. The condition in general is very good, except for a small part of the eagle's head missing. Unfortunately this is how the mirror was found. I love this curved mirror! It's manufactured by Burwood(see photos) and(REVISED FROM ORIGINAL POST) there is a small scratch on the bottom left which I missed and even though it's in the photos. It's hard to see there as well so I've added a new photo of just the scratch. The mirror itself does have slight'shadowing' but I believe its from age(don't know how old it is) It's approx. 27 inches tall and 12.75 inches at the widest point. Composition: Appears to be some type of ceramic or other synthetic material. Certainly not wood though. Someone at one time wrote the date of Aug-1949 on the back of the frame. Size: Overall Width: 8 1/2" inches Overall Length: 13" inches Mirror Diameter: 5" inches. Condition: Mirror appears to be slightly darkened or cloudy. Still displays quite well. Back panel may have been replaced at one time. A little of the gold coloring is worn off at places. Though it looks nice like this as it reveals nice aging. A hairline crack in the back of the right eagle wing that does not penetrate the wing and thus does not affect the integrity or look of the frame. No damage noted. Antique patriotic mirror. Has a wonderful atmospheric quality. Unsure of age but has a civil war era vibe to it. Frame is wood with gesso ornamentation. Eagle is gesso. I left mirror as found. Mirror glass appears to be new. There are superficial cracks in the eagle but it is holding firmly. Good condition for age. Some paint missing from upper right quadrant of frame. Up for sale is Antique/Vintage American Chippendale style Mahogany Mirror Surmounted by spread wings Eagle. I found and bought this mirror at estate sale in Pasadena. California 1880's mansion just front of Cal-Tech few years ago. I believe the frame of mirror and other wooden parts are mahogany and have made by hand cutted and carved. This kind of Chippendale mirrors were popular in United States and called American Chippendale Mirror. I never have seen this size of American Chippendale Mirror before. The dimension of mirror is 70-1/2" tall x 33" width. Very nice to Hallway! I do not know how to ship to out of town. I listed as local-pick up. Vintage Antique Gold Gilt Cast Iron Federal Eagle Mirror by Iron Art Co.
This is a fantastic gold gilt cast iron mirror with an eagle perched on top and elegant scrolls around the sides and bottom. The metal is excellent. And the gold finish is still shimmery, not dull but probably a little darkened from age, and 100% intact with little wear. The mirror is held in place by three clasps that screw into the frame and blue pieces of felt are positioned under the clasps to protect the mirror. There is a small chip missing from the top edge of the mirror, but it is not visible from the front if the mirror is properly positioned. There is also one tiny scratch in the silver backing on the mirror, but it is hardly noticeable. There is a hanger screwed onto the back for wall hanging. The frame is marked Iron Art Co. Outer measurements are 10 1/2" W x 17" H, and the glass measures 4 1/4" x 10 1/4"

New England Antique Federal Mirror circa 1812 - 1822 Boston Mahogany Old Eagle
A better than average Federal period Mahogany wall mirror with original American Eagle cast in bronze. Retains original gold guilt- not painted- finish. These mirrors were made in the Boston area and were hung prominently in the better homes of their day. Original finish, old repair to the wood. Mirror glass was replaced in the 1930's or 40's. 40" high x 20" wide. Retains original backing boards- one being 16" across the grain. I estimate the age at 1812- 1822 due to the quality and form of the eagle compared with earlier examples. Compare with similar mirrors offered at much higher prices- and they have broken eagles or lesser quality eagles. This was purchased and is currently in New Hampshire. 60 miles from Boston. Overall a very wonderful piece. I love it! I got a good deal- so you get a good deal.

ANTIQUE REGENCY CONVEX EAGLE MIRROR from the Cawood Homestead. Gllded Wood& Gesso. Late 1800's- early 1900's This is a rather spectacular Regency Style Convex or Bulls Eye Mirror which I rescued from the large dining room in the big house at Cousin Emma's place( please see below) The mirror is 30 inches tall and 18 inches wide. It is made of Gilded Wood and Gesso. The top of the banded circle surrounding the mirror. The Eagle and his olive leaves and the bottom foliage scroll work are all gilded with a bright gold. The interior concave circle with the thirteen balls representing the original thirteen colonies is of darker gold and the band against the mirror is painted black. This subtle combination of different golds and black is very handsome. My maternal grandmother. Blanche, who was born in 1879, grew up on the property ... moreand who was the source for most of the information I have of Cousin Emma and the old property, told me that this mirror had always hung in the large dining room for as long as she could remember. She also told me that she remembered that when her father, Hezekiah Cawood, died in 1924, this mirror was draped and covered with black crape. I don't have an exact idea of the mirror's age. But I would have to suppose that it dates to sometime from the late 1800's to the early 1900's. The mirror is in very good condition with no significant damage. Some of the gilding has age appropriate wear and the Eagle's wings appear to have been repaired at some time. The glass of the mirror has no scratches at all and reflects beautifully. It has just a very few and small age related streaks which add authentic character to the mirror. The photos give a very good idea of the elegance and beauty of this fine old mirror. This is a lovely vintage/antique Federal style bullseye convex matte gold gilt hanging mirror. About 50-60 years old. It is impressive in size and design, measuring 31" high x 22-1/4" wide. The mirror itself is 17-1/4" in diameter. It is carved wood and gesso. There are some age cracks in the carving; no breaks or chips. The mirror is in nice condition with minor oxidation.
