You are looking at a vintage Art Deco dressing mirror. Signed January 1935 Galax Va. on the back of the mirror. It is about 20" tall, some of the backing is coming off the back or the mirror, some of the finish is coming off the wood frame. The base is a little warped. it sits fine on a towel or carpet, but tips a little on a hard surface. A great addition to any collection. The items in the picture are the items that you will receive. Description Wonderful Large Proportions Victorian Dressing Table Mirror. Superb carving on this antique table mirror. Scrolls and foliage decorate the upright supports and the base has a great serpentine shape with lidded compartments at either side. The mirror itself is an oval. The silvering still bright, it is angle adjustable. Most likely to be solid mahogany I'd guess! Measures 69 wide. 85 high and 29 deep at the deepest point. Welcome. Up for sale is a Lovely Ladies dressing table mirror. This Victorian mirror is very ornate with a brass plating over a cast iron body. The mirror is beveled and has some minor spotting. Not bad. The pins that hold the mirror in are missing on the back and are replaceable. The hinged foot on the back is original. It is marked on the back"Pat Apld For" The mirror has a very nice floral motif among the scroll work. No Chips, No Cracks and No Repairs. This condition is consistant with age and use and does not compromise the quality or integrity of the mirror. The mirror measures approx. 17" in H. and 11 1/8" in W. at its widest. This mirror is a real find! Heavy brass and marble in Classic Late Art Deco Design! It also has a very Hollywood look. But the design is very spare and elegant. Would work for both sexes. We offer a very beautiful Antique Empire Dressing Mirror. This piece has been in our collection for many years. The feet have the brass capped claw foot on them and everyone is present and secure. The side pieces that screw the mirror on the base have wooden centers with brass backs. They are very special. The finials are perfect as well and give this piece its crowning touch. The mirror is quite foged from age. And could be replaced. We have left it original for the next owner to decide. The piece was being stored and does need a good polish and cleaning. We took advantage of a clear evening when we shot the pictures last week as we had been having a lot of rain. The mirror frame is in very fine condition for a 19th century useful item. It could use some strenghtening on the one side back where the screw goes into the wood. It displays fine. ... moreBut probably would not take much spining of the mirror by someone unaware of its Antiquity, The mirror frame itself and the mirror are both tight and strong. The mirror front does have age cracks in the burled wood from shrinkage over time and age. With all this being said we are selling the mirror As Is due to its Antiquity. It is one of those rare pieces from the Empire period that we are lucky to even find in any condition. There are surely little nicks and dings from over 165 years ofr use. But from the look of this mirror the finish is very good, the Mirror is ready to place and display. The mirror frame stands 65" tall by 26 1/4" wide at the base. A stunning and very rare Victorian pierced ormolu dressing table mirror. When placed on a dressing table the mirror is raised on two stepped and castellated feet and supported by an ornate easel stand. Alternatively the mirror can be wall mounted by the heavy hanging ring mounted on the back of the frame. The frame has the well detailed. High relief face of Bacchus at the top, adorned with vine leafs and grapes. Centrally at the base is a stylised acanthus leaf again cast in detailed high relief. The borders of the frame are formed from an elaborate stylised in scroll form vine complete with many bunches of grapes. The two candle arms are decorated in leaves and support the original leaf shaped bobeches and candle holders. The candle holders and bobeches are removable by way of a screw fitting for ease of cleaning etc. The thick arched mirror has a deep bevelled edge and is secured by a heavy placque on the frames rear. Here is a fabulous very old Antique 19th Century Ornate Bronze Standing Dressing Table Shaving Mirror featuring Griffins. Cherubs, reticulated foliage, a torch top; all sensational. The mirror portion is tin that has aged to a bronzy patina with a foggy reflection. The easel portion has a wire replacement but does still stand. Overall measurements are 23" tall, 15" wide and the bronze is approximately 1/4" thick. Exquisite bronze work that I believe dates around 1850. This item is a truly superb 19th century Victorian style tall dressing table/ shaving mirror offering great attention to detail. The I tricately hand decorated mirror sits perfectly on it's stand. With its elaborate solid bronze fittings it really is a stunning item. This piece offers a floral design set on a black background with a central focal point depicting three exotic birds. For your consideration is a SUPER and RARE! Dressing Mirrow with inlaid Drawer most likely from Charleston SC or another low country location. Possibly VA. I believe it is Charleston because backboard I believe is Cypress interior Yellow Pine with Mahagony Veneer with Fruitwood banding and inlay. Oval inlay is similar other late 18th C Charleston card tables and case pieces with Fruitwood inlay. Simple Queen Anne feet were used late into the 18th C on Low Country region including Charleston and Eastern VA furniture and accessories. Very good condition, the mirror is replaced and there is some banding inlay that needs to be glued. Pieces will be secured and the new owner may glue back if they wish to. Feet are original, I believe hardware is original as well. Great patina.
