Antique Bradley & Hubbard Ornate Cast Iron Bronzed Bacchus Mirror Frame
Antique ornate cast iron bronzed mirror frame depicting the head of the Greek God Bacchus. The rest of the frame is a tremendous amount of work in the Art Nouveau style. This has the original formed tin sheet that is the backing to hold the mirror in the frame. There is no mirror. A replacement will be required and can be acquired at any glass and mirror shop in almost all towns and cities. They are inexpensive. This is marked B&H, and has a bronze ring to hang it with. Manufactured around 1870. It is almost identical to an easel bronze Bacchus bronze mirror frame I have listed as well. But the easel mirror frame is not marked. Both were acquired from the same estate and they were used as a set, one on a parlour table, the other hanging above it. The two bottom corners of this piece have no feet as does the easel frame, and less flourish ... moreon these two corners. It is impossible to tell if this was manufactured this way as part of this set, or if an early owner had it customized this way to hang above the easel frame in my other listing. This is a beautiful tilting dresser mirror made of cast iron in the Art Nouveau style. It has lots of faces. Angels and cherubs around the mirror. Marked on the back Iron Art, so its from the 1950's, but it still fits in with antique dresser items, as you can see. Excellent condition, no damage. It could also be used as a picture frame. Great antique victorian ornate cast iron beveled glass mirror
Beautiful ornate scrolled victorian cast iron mirror with beveled glass. With darkened gold color. Stands about 13 inches tall by about 9 inches wide. Has a beautiful scrolled easel stand. The back of the mirror has a metal plate that is held on with four swivel bars- the bottom one is stuck in the open position down inbetween the frame and the back- I did not attempt to move it. Stamped on the top back I think with the number 1040- hard to read, for a makers mark. Only flaw is a chip on the mirror on the lower left bevel, which doesn't affect the clarity of the mirror, which has some light surface scratches due to age and wear, and I see only a little discoloration/silver loss on the lower right beveled edge, and some tiny spots here and there. Really pretty example of an old victorian mirror in nice shape for its age, with fancy easel ... morestand. Please ask any other questions. Will ship in a medium USPS flat rate box that comes with tracking. Please see the pictures and read the descriptions explaining the measurements. Sizes and condition so there will be no issues later. Cast iron frame FLOATING mirror beveled edge vtg wall decor antique black metal
This piece has a cast iron or wrought iron frame that would hang on the wall and the beveled edge mirror fits within the frame. The mirror would rather“float” between the iron frame. It has two decorative hinge type connectors that would secure the mirror. I am not a very“handy” type person and I cannot get the mirror inside this frame. It seems too wide. But I know that is just because I do not know how to secure it. This mirror definitely goes with this frame, so it has to fit. I know a“handy” type person could get it secured. If you are"unhandy. like me, you get 2 cool separate pieces! The frame is a cast iron or wrought iron black metal piece in very good condition– no rust– very good condition. The metal has a twisted ribbon like look. I have yet to find any maker’s mark on this piece. But it could be that I do not know where to ... morelook. Due to the design– a maker’s mark could be hidden. The mirror has a thick rough or scalloped type beveled edge. I was going to say no chips. But on closer I think there may possibly be a chip in one of the scallops. Rather hard to tell due to the decorative cut at the edges of the mirror. Also. As you can see, the silver or mercury backing has worn off in several places. It is an old piece. Exact age unknown– I do not know if this is an older vintage piece. As more of a 1950's Mid Century Modern, or if it is old antique– I assume collectors can tell by the mirror cut and the frame style- Size: The metal frame measures approx 12 3/4ths inches in length. The center cut-out measures approx 6 1/4 by 4 1/8th inches. The mirror measures approx 5 3/4ths by 3 5/8ths inches. It is approx 1/4 inch thick at the edges. Condition: The cast iron frame still looks very good. As you can see. The back of the mirror shows much wear. As stated above, the mirror has a thick rough beveled edge and it is difficult to tell, but there may be a chip on one of the scalloped edges. Description This handsome antique cast iron frame stands 10 1/2" tall and is 10 3/4" wide. It has a folding stand on the back which allows it to stand freely. The design of the frame is unique and features a French motif. All around the piece are fleur-de-lis. The top has plumes and a helmet. And the feet have griffin like creatures holding shields with a fleur-de-lis. The frame has a mirror; it is not original to the frame but looks good. It could also hold an oval picture 8" long, 6" wide. The frame is in very ice condition with no breaks. No repairs and no losses. The back stand is original and in fine condition. It measures 17 1/2" x 13 1/2" with a mirror that measures 7 3/4" x 9 3/4" The beveled mirror shows quite a few age spots and has some rough edges behind the framing. The only marking I see is the#7362 on the frame. There is one wire hook missing on the back that holds the mirror in place- could be replaced easily. This antique swivel mirror is made of cast iron and/or cast brass and contains its original beveled glass mirror insert. Although it's difficult to make out all the words. I'm sure that the back is marked with the words"Verlag bei E. G. Zimmermann Hanau" My assistant has just pointed out that there is actually a diacritical mark over the"m" and the"n" rather than doubled consonants, so maybe this will help to date the piece for those more knowledgeable than I am. I don't see any numbers, so I'm guessing that this may date to pre-1850, but this is based on information I culled from other listings, etc. so please do your own research if this is important to you. This definitely dates to the 19th century and was made at the foundry of E. G. Zimmermann in Hanau, Germany. The mirror has no cracks. ... moreAlthough there is age-related damage to the silvering, as well as an approximately 3/4" scratch near the top and a tiny chip on the bevel edge of the mirror near the top. My sharp-eyed assistant noticed when photographing the mirror that one of the back feet doesn't sit quite flush with the tabletop. I've owned this for a year or so without ever noticing this. The entire frame measures 12&3/4" tall x 8&3/4" wide. And the base is 4&3/4" deep. This has a lovely patina of age with some verdigris to the finish. An exceptional vintage mirror. An ornate baroque cast iron easel frame, I'd guess dating to the 1940s or'50s. It is in an older painted finish, an off white with gold highlights with a midcentury French Provincial look. It is marked on the back"J M 32, Iron Art" It measures about 16" in height and 11 1/2" in width. the condition is very good, the mirror is clear, the easel mechanism at the bottom works well and I see no cracks or missing pieces. ORNATE ANTIQUE CAST IRON BRADLEY AND HUBBARD MIRRORED 3 ARM SCONCE BACHCUS
This auction is for a really awesome Bradley and Hubbard nickle plated cast iron mirrored 3 arm sconce. This piece is beautifully ornate and in really nice condition. The piece measures about 16" long and about 9" wide. The iron work is incredible. With scrolls and East lake style sconce arms. At the top is a portrait of Bachcus, the Roman God of wine and intoxication. The nickle plating is in excellent condition and most of these that you see are in a brass finish. I have taken pictures with and without a flash. The first are it's true color and the others look gold but are there just to show better detail. The mirror is in nice condition for it's age with only a little light spotting near the top. The sconce arms are a bit loose and may need a different screw to hold them tighter to the piece. Antique c. Late 1800's Victorian Gilt Cast Iron Mirror Frame Easel Back #9032
ANTIQUE VICTORIAN GILT CAST IRON EASEL MIRROR/ FRAME FOUNDRY MARKED#9032 Fresh from an upstate New York estate! Check out this offering of a gorgeous and ornate late 1800's gilt cast iron framed mirror! The intricate design involves a scrolled leaf motif with a small bouquet a the top(accented with pink) with additional pink accent at the bottom center. This mirror has a hinged easel back for display on a dresser or vanity but could also be hung quite easily if desired. The original beveled mirror is intact with no cracks but there is a small chip in the upper right and there are spots on the silver backing that are missing. The original paperboard back is still in place. While the mirror itself is not perfect. It produces a good image overall. It could be repaired or replaced easily if you didn't want to keep the original charm- ... morefurther, you could replace the mirror with a picture and use this item for it's frame appeal. The cast iron gilt patina has a wonderful aged patina. The mirror(glass) is 6" by 4 1/4" The overall dimensions of the frame itself are 12" tall by 8 1/2" wide. This is a stunning antique gold gilded cast iron wall or table mirror. it is extremely ornate and done in a beautiful Victorian style. the mirror is nicely beveled and held in by a screwed in iron plate in the back. the frame is nicely footed and wrapped with cut out scroll and floral detailing. it is a thick frame and has some nice weight to it. there is a pivoting arm in the back that stands the mirror up on a flat surface or can be pushed aside to hang on a wall. the frame measures 13 1/2 inches tall by 8 3/8 inches wide. in good shape. there is a marked" oct 14 1910" on the bottom of the oval shape glass. the rim/edge of the glass piece has some crack on it. And one crack on the metal"T" stand at the back, but the stand still can hold the mirror very steady. it's about 17" h x 12" w for the metal frame. and 10" x 8" for the oval glass. there is a" AF" MARKED on the metal and a number" 167" too. but the number is not so clear so I am not so sure. please see the pictures for better detail. if you have any question please let me know. thank you for checking my listing and have fun bidding. good luck.

There is a raised number on bottom of stand but I did not find a maker name. The mirror has a bevel edge and some normal wear. The mirror looks foggy because it is reflecting the table top.
