Antique 1870s BLACK FOREST Relief Carved Eagle Top Wood Frame OAK WALL MIRROR
I have up for sale a rare and beautiful vintage circa 1860s- 1880s Black Forest hand carved Hanging Wall Mirror. I believe that the frame is made of Oak- its relief carved with a bird. Possibly an Eagle on top. The bird has a glass eye and the talons are fixed on to a log. It measures approx 26-1/2" measured from the tip of the wing to the bottom of the vertical section of the frame,its approx 17-1/4" wide. The bird itself protrudes outward just over 4" The glass mirror itself measures approx 16-1/4" x 9" The frame is in very nice estate fresh as found condition. I am quite sure that the finish is the old original. Regardless it looks wonderful. It has a nice warm patina and recessed areas have darker coloration. Overall the frame is in Great Condition- other than some wear/small chip to the end tip of the birds beak ... morethe wood is in fantastic shape. Wear is light, the frame was well taken care of. The glass mirror is excellent- no silvering issues- no damages. I see that the bird is attached with 2 screws in the back. When I package it. I will take if off and package it separately. PLEASE HOLD OFF MAKING PAYMENT UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED MY INVOICE. I have not yet packaged and revise my listing in a day or so with for the shipping calculator because at the time of listing I had not yet found a box that will suitably accommodate the frame. Rare 19C Antique Mirror Large Walnut w Oak Leak Acorn Rope Gesso Wood
Up for auction is this exceptional 19C Walnut and gesso mirror. This is truly a rare find. Mirror measures a large 56 5/8" l x 33 3/8" h x 2" d. It has a three panel wood back. We put a sturdy wire across the back to hang. Of course. This mirror could be mounted either vertical or horizontal. Just an exquisite design with oak leaves and acorns. A stately work of art. Beautiful attention to delicate detail. A rich appearance while being understated. So many large mirrors I have found are either too plain or tend to be- well- a bit garish! This is a nice balance of beauty and great workmanship. As it dates to the 19C, it is not perfect and should not be. There is some cracking in the gesso and a little professional restoration during its lifetime, so please look at the pictures carefully. I am uncertain if the glass is original ... moreor has been replaced over the century +. As the item is rare, antique and fragile, I will ship, but all arrangements would be up to the winning bidder. amazing large hallway foyer antique mirror 1880's Eastlake Victorian wood oak
This auction is for the best mirror I have ever came across. When I first saw it I thought it was a later reproduction as the front was in such nice shape. But then I turned it around and could not believe my eyes, the patina, the age, and then a decal that reads a patent date of 1880's. It is a large mirror. It measures approx. 48 1/4 inches tall 27 1/4 inches wide and would come off the wall 4 3/4 inches. All measurements to furthest points. Would look great in a hallway or foyer. The decal reads This Backboard patent applied for 1880, pat applied for 1883, pat applied for 1883 Deuther MFG. I would say it is in the Eastlake style. What I am still a bit confused by is when the front had it finish put on it. The front does have a stain that was put on it that was painted on with several different wood tones to give it a certain look. ... moreWhoever did that finish did a high end professional job. The front frame has no marks blemishes at all, it is in mint condition. The mirror has a couple of small streaks from age. Hard to see and only from a couple of angles, that means a little of the silver on the back has been lost, very little and like I said only in a couple of angles and it is faint. Vintage Antique Oak Wood Beveled Mirror 30" Very Nice
Up for auction is an oak beveled mirror with carving. It is in very nice condition. Possibly off a dresser but not sure. The mirror has some age marks with some fine scratches on the glass. There are a few small spots on the mercury backing of the glass but still in great condition for its age. It measures 30" high, width across the top is 21 5/8" 20 3/4" at the bottom. This is an antique wooden Victorian era wall hanging towel rack holder. It has been handmade following the Eastlake design. It is in overall good condition. The upper piece that runs left to right is loose and needs to be re-glued. There is a crack in the wood on the back where it is loose- please see the picture that shows this. The wood appears to be oak. This is one of a kind. Handcrafted item from a era long past. The towel holder measures 17 3/4" from side to side, 4" front to back and 10 3/4" from top to bottom.

Antique 1800s Dresser Oval Beveled Mirror with wood harp 24x30 heavy oak wood
Offered from my mother's estate is an Antique 1800s Oval Beveled Mirror with wood harp 24x30 heavy oak wood. This was once on top of a dresser that my great grandmother had from the latter 1800s. I believe it is solid heavy oak wood. But it could be mahogany. Looking at the harp which I call the long bottom piece with the broken foot, the wood is dark color all the way through. That may be due to aging. The Mirror is in wonderful condition also very heavy. The piece that broke from the foot included. No hardware other than shown. The 5th picture shows the backing which looks to be a masonite type material. Mom is gone now so I don't know how it all fits together. From a smoke& Pet free home. Please ask if any questions. Antique Victorian Floral Carved Wood Dark Walnut Oak Beveled Glass Wall Mirror
This is a nice antique solid wood framed wall mirror with carved floral accents on the crest and upper corners. And a wide bevel all the way around the mirror. The mirror is sturdy, solid, and heavy. The wood is walnut or oak with a very dark slightly glossy finish, the finish is probably not original, but is in good condition with some scuffs, scratches, and minor chipping, mainly along corners and edges. The glass looks very good, but there are a few areas of light spottiness in the silver. Images are crystal clear throughout. The lines that appear on the glass in the photos are a reflection and are not actually visible on the glass. There is a wooden panel over the back and the hanging wire is intact. The outer measurements of the frame are 19" W x 34 1/2" H. All original hardware in place including brass ball feet. Hinges and chain for hanging. The interior includes 3 original beveled glass mirrors all original with lots of black spots, shadowing, yellowing etc. No chips or cracks to the mirrors. They are 7.75" by 9.75" The exterior of the frame features one panel of celluloid featuring a whimsical scene of female with a winged angel or cherub figure. She is reading by a rose covered fence. The exterior of this scene is trimmed with relief pattern of flowers, feels like it's all under plastic coating of some sort. The other 2 exterior panels are papered with chintz floral, probably old ... morewall paper or paper mache. The inner trim of the wood frame features a bulls eye carved pattern.
