Estate Find- Here is an original old shaving mirror. It mearsures 14.25" across by 18.5" high. It is made of wood with ornate carvings at the top center and bottom corners. It also has an all wood backing with an old wire hanger. Due to age the mirror has black markings. Streaks and a couple of defects in the glass but no cracks or chips. This gives it character and shows its age. The frame has some paint loss but overall it is solid. It makes for a nice primitive piece that is totally original with no restorations or touch ups. We are proud to offer this incredible Victorian shaving stand. Made of Mahogany with burled Walnut inlay. This piece features a swivel mirror and storage drawer, sitting atop a ringed, minimally fluted central column with a wonderfully carved tripod base. The single drawer has an inlaid front and dovetail construction, reinforced by small square nails. There are three small hooks that have been added to the interior of the drawer. There are brass fittings throughout the piece. It is sturdy and stately, and features period detail that is sure to impress. ANTIQUE 1860s TRIPLE FOLDING SHAVING MIRROR with NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN
This Auction is for an 1800s Antique Wood Folding Shaving Mirror for men. I believe this dates to around the Civil War era.1860s to the 1880s. Has three Wooden Panels with some type of Leather or oil cloth backing to each of the Beveled Mirror Panels,the Leather panel that shows on the outside when folded close has a picture embossed into it of a Native American Indian on a Pony or Horse and holding an Arrow like he is hunting or going into Battle. The other 2 panels are plain however one is missing but could be replicated and replaced. The Beveled mirrors are cloudy from and the silvering on back has worn as pictured due to age. The original hardware is all intact including Gold metal round ball feet so you could open this up on top of a table or it has a chain with which to hang it on the wall. I am offering for auction a beautiful antique Victorian style hanging gingerbread style cut out wooden shaving or vanity wall mirror. I believe this is made out of walnut wood. But can't be 100% sure. This is in good antique condition. I picked this up at a local estate auction. It measures 20" high, 12" wide. The mirror is in excellent condition, no cloudiness or damage whatsoever. The original wooden back is still intact with original hanging wire. A wonderful Country Primitive with original mustard grain paint. We found this locally in Lancaster County. This is from the late 19th century. Circa 1880's or earlier. The upper portion has a lovely deep scalloped overhang all the way around the top and sides of the mirror frame. There is a little shelf under the mirror and a deep slant lid lift top box. The base repeats the deep scalloped shape along the bottom front and the sides of the box. Condition: Lapped and nailed construction. Made of pine, it shows good age with little nicks and scrapes to the surface. All very strong and stable. Up for sale we have a most attractive Antique Shaving Dresser Mirror. This piece can be used on top of a dresser or any place in the home a beautiful Antique mirror would be appreciated. The mirror is in outstanding condition for a piece from the late 19th century. The base has bun feet and the sides have nicely hand turned finials. The mirror measures 22 tall by 21" wide at the base by 9 1/2" in depth. The mirror itself is 16" tall by 15" wide in its frame. It works beautifully and has its original mounts in excellant shape. It stands up straight and firm with no wobbling. There are three spots on the base that have veneer chips(see pictures) There are a couple of surface scratches on the back covering that can be easily touched up. Antique victorian bamboo wood framed tri-fold shaving mirror. Open it measures 17" across. 12" tall, closed 11" The center mirror is flanked on either side by two beveled mirrors. On the brass closure is stamped Brevete SGDG LB Patented 1878. The mirror is all original except for the two pieces of wallpaper on the back of the two side mirrors. I have never tried to remove them. The center has a faded maroon leather back with a gold coat of arms. The bottom center panel edge has a sliver of wood missing. See picture. This was truly an incredible find! Despite its age. It has held up incredibly well over the last 100 years or so. The wood and mirrors still in good condition, and the tooled leather is not only impressive, it truly gives this heavy bulky mirror, a delicate touch. The black tooled leather front has various animals in brick red and gold. I have taken many photos to try and show this. There is a small amount of loss to the leather front but it isn't very noticeable. This item was used as a traveling vanity mirror that could also be hung for storage or used for shaving. When opened, the 3 square beveled original mirrors sit on 6 wood feet. For its size, this item is deceptively heavy! There is also a substantial original chain attached for hanging shown. Antique Victorian Small Dresser Shaving Vanity Mirror Dome Topped Wood Frame
Very heavy for its size Victorian dome topped beveled mirror with wooden frame. The mirror has the shape and looks of a vanity or dresser mirror. We cannot see however any evidence on the sides that it was indeed suspended inside a base or stand. The wooden frame is domed at the top and curved at the corners without any visible joints any where that we can see. We are not sure what kind of wood the frame is made of but our guess based on its color is"cherry" The back of the mirror is almost entirely covered with a heavy flat piece of wood which is screwed at the edges holding the mirror in place. The mirror is beveled and looks very old and hand cut. The normal age stains or discoloration are showing through. And these only add to its character. The wood frame is in very good antique condition with only two areas showing a small ... morehairline crack. These are hardly visible. Antique Vintage Silver Shaving Mirror Stand
Up for sale is an antique shaving mirror obtained from an estate sale. I believe it's made of silver. But I can find no markings to confirm this. However, it seems to have the properties of silver. Magnets are not attracted to the metal, and when buffed with baking soda and water black tarnish marks come off on the cleaning cloth. The stand is adjustable. I have not tried to adjust the height. But it has a screw for doing so. It currently stands about 18" tall. The mirror is about 5.5" in diameter, or 6.25" if you include the frame of the mirror. The base is 5.5" in diameter. The mirror rotates 360 degrees. I am throwing in a plastic cup and shaving brush. But they are by no means original to the mirror. They will do for display but are not accurate to the time period. Antique Art Nouveau Tri Fold Vanity Shaving Mirror with Portrait Paintings
This is a unique antique art nouveau trifold mirror. It stands on brass feet. Folds flat with a clasp but latch is missing from clasp. Middle mirror is a replacement; the side two mirrors are beveled. The middle one is not. The frames around the mirrors are beautifully carved and stained, and it looks to me like possibly a wood burning tool was used. The fold outs are faced with hand carved, painted portraits with gold and also the wood tones complementing traditional art nouveau style detailing. Overall good condition. The paintings are missing some molding, but they stay in place. Two corners of one portrait were glued at some point and that glue is visible-see the close up photos. Each panel measures 12 7/8 inches by 10 7/8. The overall measurement of the whole triptych open is 33 1/8 by 13 1/2 inches. Purchased from Les Puces-a flea market ... morein Paris. Probably dating from 1880 to the turn of the century. This is the kind of piece a woman might have carried in her trunk. This is an old antique Victorian era celluloid over a chromolithograph print vanity dresser mirror from estate. This is selling AS IS due to its old age. See glass which can be replaced possibly. W hen open is 13" long x 7" High with feet. Closed measures 7x4.25. The front celluloid features a yellow rose and a bud. There is a 3/4" maroon stain in back celluloid which is overall off white.The celluloid is vibrant and in wonderful condition otherwise. The celluloid is in beautiful condition with vibrant colors. Antique 1800's Tri-fold Weiderer Beveled Glass Shaving Vanity Mirror
Wonderful old mirror from a local estate sale. It has the original beveled glass mirrors. The panels measure about 11 3/8" x 9 3/8" The back panels have a floral motif and look to be made of a pressed material. Perhaps gutta percha. Looks like there were two small turned feet removed from the middle panel. The hanging chain and eye screws have been removed. The embossed panels have a green tint to them that is more pronounced in my photos than in real life. There is a small worn spot to the center mirror as shown. Beautiful mirror. Thanks for looking.
