Up for auction is this vintage brass fireplace screen with fine detail. This style is known as a peacock fan fire screen. It is beautiful shape and has a wonderful patina. This is a very rare pair of large antique victorian copper and brass fireplace andirons. made in mid to late 1800's they are made from extremely thick copper and brass and are extremely heavy. in a victorian style with exquisite detailing throughout. the base if footed with large routed ornate feet and the center has a heavily embossed female face and a fleur-de-lis underneath. it is very thick with bubble and floral trim. the base meets the large copper globe with a ribbed brass section. the globe shaped body is made from very thick copper and also is very ornate with demonic faces connected with hung fruit. Here is a beautiful set of antique brass. Very detailed and ornate fireplace andirons with cast iron backs marked BENNETT. Claw feet, acanthus leaves around the top, a pattern similar to fleur de lis up the front and side of the top. Very, very detailed; there isn't a part that doesn't have some kind of design on it. The feet alone are double knuckled, detailed and measure 1-1/2" x 1-1/4" to give you an idea of size. Some of the fanciest ones I've seen. They are in excellent condition. Each one measures 23" tall. 18" deep, and 10" across the front. These are quite heavy.

this is an absolutely stunning pair of rare antique ornate victorian brass fireplace andirons. they have an obscure design with a dual andiron on each piece. they have a great 3 dimensional flame finial which is very detailed. The back/ wood rests are made from cast iron. With a brass plate over the top, and this is where the second is located. the brass has a great patina from age. one measures 22 inches tall by 9 inches wide by 17 inches back to front. there is slight ware to one of the back finials but facing toward the back it is hard to see. and some blacking on the back of the backs as well but will buff or clean up. great rare set. Pair BRASS ANTIQUE ANDIRON Fronts ~ Lovely Ornate With Two Feet
This is a pair of lovely old antique brass andiron fronts.each is 11 ½” high with two feet and an ornate design corporating feathery swirls. Urn shapes and Greek key designs. They both have the horizontal flat bracket on the backsides which has a hole in it to accept the bracket stand which would hold them upright and hold the firelogs. I have seen these with just an angle bracket screwed on so they can stand on their own…though these can stand as they are on their own. They are quite decorative.with great old patina. The screen features Louis XVI styling with a center medallion of love birds seated upon tree branches. The top of the arched screen features crossed torches and wreath. The screen has trailing acanthus leaves and vines with a drapery swag across the bottom. The frame is raised upon elongated feet of scrolled acanthus leaves that resemble claw feet. Description Super fabulous pair of antique brass andirons-chenets with ornate designs of swags with lions heads on the bottom of the large end and flame top finials. Each measures 20" wide and 17-1/2" tall and extend back 6" They are heavy. Each weighs 17 pounds. I have shown them with a can of coke so you can see how large and impressive they are. Details are shown on the top under the flame and on the sides. The andirons have recently been polished but still retain a deep, rich patina. There is a hook on the back of the bar I have shown in the last picture- there may have been a bar as part of the set at one time. Vintage brass decorative Rococo style fire screen. It measures 28.5 inches high by 27.5 inches wide and the feet are 9.5 inches apart. It weighs 19 lbs. This fire screen is in one solid piece. It has an acanthus ormolu that adorns the decorative center piece and the frame of the fire screen. It is missing a screw on the bottom of the decorative center piece and the screen appears to be slightly stretched out where the missing screw might have been attached. Description Absolutely stunning antique French Style Brass Fireplace Fender. The design and detail throughout the piece is amazing. Fender measures 66" long by 12" deep and 7-1/2" tall. It has paw feet but there is one problem. One of the feet is missing on the right side and a brass plate has been added to hold it up. Most of the time this part is hidden inside the fireplace. I've owned several screen similar to this one over the years.but NONE have been as heavy as this solid brass piece. Standing about 28" tall and opening to just over 38" wide. This piece weighs in at OVER 23 POUNDS. Being from the late Victorian/Nouveau era, this piece has all the lines and designs popular of the time. Notice that this piece has the pointed top finial found on c1900 pieces but not on later pieces(The pointed finial was replaced with a handled shape) Selling just as found, this piece comes with the dust and patina from many years beside and in front of the fireplace. This is a stunning antique 19th century large gold gilded bronze fireplace fender. it has beautiful ornate solid bronze stylized lion head feet on the corners. the fencing of the fender is extremely detailed with pierced cross-like design and very ornate. the bottom edge of the fender is a nicely ribbed bronze rail. there is also a rounded top rail that runs around the whole top edge. it has a wonderful patina from age and measures 42 3/4 inches long by 9 inches tall by 13 1/4 inches back to front. it is a very large fender and in good antique shape. Here is a lovely antique cast brass peacock fireplace screen that is fully functioning. It opens out with 4"leaves" on each side to a width of about 36" wide. There is a figure of a profile surrounded by leaves. Flowers and swaths in the center section, which stands 27" high. Including the handle. The base is decorative and heavy and measures about 11" wide by 7" deep. Photos show front and back side. On the back side. There is what looks like residue from cleaning? we tried to remove it with water only and it did not fully come off. We are afraid that if we start cleaning with brass cleaner we might compromise the patina and risk having part of it look shiny and part not. This operates by pulling the leaves open on either side. This set includes three tools, each made of solid brass, and two tool holders, also made of solid brass. These are high quality tools. Each has a finely cast fancy brass handle. This antique set looks very similar to a set illustrated in Judith Miller's book, Antiques. Appraised at $1200 to $1800. I have shown that set from her book in the last photo. The set I'm selling here shows signs of having been used and well cared for over the years. The tools and their stand are in excellent condition. Each tool is about 30" long. Beautiful Fine Detailed Antique Brass Fireplace Fender Fine Ornate Castings
This beautiful Brass Fireplace Fender belonged to my parents- my father inherited it from his aunt and uncle's estate in London. Ontario. Likely acquired there as all other furnishings came from Ontario dated around 1910. You will see in the photos a number on the casting(s) it appears to be R 518809. More than that I cannot tell you. There is some minimal damage to one small facing(see photo- that would be unseen when in place in front of the fireplace. I imagine it can be repaired. Needs a good polishing. Dimensions are Length 52 and 1/2 inches X 14 inches deep and 6 inches high. All measurements are from the outside edges. I will ship it to Canada or the USA. This pair has very ornate leaf type scroll work on them and they have very nice curved claw feet. They have finales on top that remind me of acorns. They have a very nice old patina on the from age and having been used over the year. This pair was taken right out of fireplace of a(3) story brick home built in 1901. These beautiful antique gold tone brass andirons are over the top in elegance and beauty. They stand approximately 16 inches tall with very elaborate flame designs. Composed of solid brass. They are very heavy and solid. They are also quite old with some scuffs and wear commensurate with age. They originally had iron back supports which allowed these to be free standing. Somewhere along the way the iron supports went missing. The new owner may want to find replacement supports in order for these to be stand alone again.
