Original Antique Ornate Gentlemans Shaving Mirror - Unrestored Wood Wall Mirror
Estate Find- Here is an original old shaving mirror. It mearsures 14.25" across by 18.5" high. It is made of wood with ornate carvings at the top center and bottom corners. It also has an all wood backing with an old wire hanger. Due to age the mirror has black markings. Streaks and a couple of defects in the glass but no cracks or chips. This gives it character and shows its age. The frame has some paint loss but overall it is solid. It makes for a nice primitive piece that is totally original with no restorations or touch ups. Antique Victorian Small Dresser Shaving Vanity Mirror Dome Topped Wood Frame
Very heavy for its size Victorian dome topped beveled mirror with wooden frame. The mirror has the shape and looks of a vanity or dresser mirror. We cannot see however any evidence on the sides that it was indeed suspended inside a base or stand. The wooden frame is domed at the top and curved at the corners without any visible joints any where that we can see. We are not sure what kind of wood the frame is made of but our guess based on its color is"cherry" The back of the mirror is almost entirely covered with a heavy flat piece of wood which is screwed at the edges holding the mirror in place. The mirror is beveled and looks very old and hand cut. The normal age stains or discoloration are showing through. And these only add to its character. The wood frame is in very good antique condition with only two areas showing a small ... morehairline crack. These are hardly visible. Antique Late 19th C Folding Travel Shaving? Mirror Bun Feet 2 Ovals Wood Frame
Up for auction is a folding shaving or boudoir double oval mirror set recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia PA area. It is found in good used condition with the following issues to report: some of the screws were replaced around mid-century. One whole section of the original tri-fold is missing(photo 12) making it just a pair connected so no longer stands on its own, some losses to the edges of the mirrors, some cracks to the wood from drying out over the last 100+ years. None the less a gorgeous connected set of oval mirrors measuring overall when opened 9.25 x 14" and 7x9 when closed. Could have been a traveling shaving or boudoir mirror. With 3 it would have stood easily. Lovely bun feet. Antique Wood Tabletop Mirror Shaving Vanity Vintage Early 1900s
This is a lovely antique mirror I believe from the early 1900s. It is made of a dark wood. Not sure what type. The brackets that hold the mirror are a slightly different color of wood than the base and frame. The mirror is in good shape with only a few little spots of discoloration. There are some scratches on the wood pieces that hold the mirror but the base and frame look very nice. The wood on the back of the mirror has some small cracks and ripples in it but nothing drastic. The mirror has a fancy brass frame, and then it has a fancy brass decorative piece on either side, and brass toppers for the ends of the towel bar dowels in the front. Made of solid wood, it measures 11 5/8" widest which is at the bottom, 8" tallest from the center top to the bottom of either side and 2 1/2" deep from the back to the brass points of the front towel rod dowels. The towel bar, made for a small hand towel, measures 8 3/4" wide on the inside and is 1/4" diameter. The shaving mirror measures 2 3/4" square, mirror alone. At the backside, you can see a covering that looks to be an old black textured paper- that's not paint that's black, it's the paper. The paper is in good condition overall but has lots of air bubbles that you can see in my photos 13-15. There's some holes in the paper; at the bottom half where the screw bottoms from the dowels push through, and there's some chips and rips to the edges of the paper but it's stuck on strong- with only small spots

Antique Primitive Shaving Mirror in Wood Wall Hanging Towel Bar
This antique primitive shaving mirror and towel bar rack belonged to a couple that married in the early 1900's. There are no manufacturer's marks and it was likely hand-crafted. It is s olid wood(looks like oak grain) The backer board is a rough cut and about 1/4 inch thick. Overall measurements are 16 1/2" wide x 15" high x 3" deep on the bottom. The storage well is 11" across and about 1 1/2" deep. It has a r ectangular mirror with an exposed surface of about 14 x 5” that appears original. Mirror has lots of age blemishes and a chipped corner. The t owel bar on the bottom is 1/2 inch in diameter. There is are nail holes in the top on each side where a wire was strung to mount the rack to the wall. Local pick-up is ok. I believe my father started refinishing this piece as it is stripped. Antique Glass Shaving/Make-Up Mirror by Unknown Maybe the 40's? Used Very little is known about this item. It has a wooden frame with many marks of wear and tear. The lower right corner has broken and the repairs made have left it with a very visible split between pieces. The other lower corner is beginning to pull apart. The mirror does make a white piece of paper seem yellowish. So we know it is antique glass. The back piece of the mirror to hold it in place is likely not original, unless they typically used cigarette boxes of that time. There is a very light mist of paint spattered at the back and the glass is lightly scratched over most of the surface. The wood is split. But still this is an extremely wonderful piece that will appeal to certain people. Not everyone will like it. If you don't like distressed pieces do not buy this. All of my pieces will have various stages of wear or use. None of these pieces look like new objects because they are old. These pieces are straight from the collection and have not been cleaned.
