Antique Medical Phlebotomy Tin Blood Letting Bleeding Cup 1800s Civil War Era
Antique Medical Phlebotomy Tin Blood Letting Bleeding Cup 1800s Civil War Era Old antique medical instrument. A tin blood letting cup in good condition. This cup was used after a scarificator made an incision, as a receptacle for the blood. 1800's Brass Tourniquet - Maw & Son - Civil War Era - Wound Surgical Amputation
Up for auction is an original 1800's Brass Tourniquet that I believe was once part of a Surgeon's Amputation set. It is clearly marked"S. Maw& Son London" on one side of the"T" handle. The tourniquet measures approx. 3 1/4" tall and the lower base measures approx. 2 1/8" x by 1 1/2" I imagine that it was probably sold without a strap as any piece of cloth or fabric would suffice and it would not be too difficult to fashion one. Antique umbrella stand bamboo with cast iron drip plate- World War 2 era - nice
Antique bamboo umbrella stand with cast iron drip plate. This is the real thing not a reproduction. Probably from the 1940's-1950's. Cou ld be older. That is my best guess. Very usable and decorative for that special little spot. Stands about 32" tall and the triangle shape is about 14" on each side. Weight is about 9 pounds. Most of it being the cast iron dri p plate. Antique Medical surgical amputation knife blade scalpel Civil War era
Well the best I can come up with is that this is an amputation knife or blade. Dont know what else to call it. It came with other medical instruments dating around 1900 or before. I would guess this would be civil war but.it does not have a wooden handle. The handle looks. Feels like plastic.probably Bakelite. The stamp on the blade says Emerig Phila The box says W.H. Walmsley The knife and box definitely go together.to the point that the knife only fits in one way. Can not be flipped vertically. Box is velvet lined. That is all I know.not much If you have more information on this item. I would appreciate it if you would drop me an email with your thoughts. This item is in really nice condition for its age. Still sharp and the velvet is intact and in good condition. The case shows wear and tear. Readers have been kind enough to verify that ... morethis is indeed an amputation knife from around the Civil War era and suggest that the handle is ebony)

If you have any questions for us regarding this item. Please email us at jjdecoy antiques@live.com or give us a call at 1.207.314.9621. We look forward to talking to you! This is a magnificent solid black walnut finger carved cabriole leg Civil War-era oversized sofa that dates from the 1860s-70s. It’s amazing ... morethat something like this has been around for 140 years. And has no breaks or bad joints on it. It’s just tight and in fantastic shape. You can see a slight lamination seam on the right-hand side where the wood joins together, but nothing has come apart. It has a green crushed velour that is in such nice condition that it either has been replaced, or this sofa may not have seen very much use. The wood is the original nice dark walnut stain, with cabriole carved front legs, big carved knuckles on the fronts of the upholstered arms, and even retains the original brass wheel casters. The fabric is all nice and clean, and could use a good shampooing but is very useable. The patina of the frame is gorgeous. The sofa is a lot larger than usually, and can hold about four adults. The width on the outside, from arm to arm, is 74 inches and on the inside is 65 inches. From the back to front on the seat it measures 23 inches, so the overall depth is about 27 inches. It is 39 inches high to the top of the center crest rail, and 23 inches high to the arm. It is 17 inches high to the seat. This is a nice, tight, extra-large sofa with a great, reasonable price. Rare Antique Surgical Instrument Set - Civil War Era Amputation Set
This is a very nice Civil War era amputation surgical set lined in purple velvet. The set was manufactured by Otto and Reynders. The set contains scalpels. Amputation knives and saws, tourniquet, rongeur, forceps and several needles. The largest amputation knife is not original to the kit and is clearly a modern day instrument made by Archer Co. who are well known for their reproduction instruments in the last 25 years. The purple velvet lining is in good condition but is faded where it is exposed. The walnut box is in excellent shape with no cracking or damage. I have owned this kit for almost 25 years and am now selling my medical collection over the next month or so. These sets are quickly becoming unobtainable as most are in museums or collections never to be offered for sale. I am going to charge $50 shipping but will refund the buyer ... morethe difference once shipping and insurance are established when it is mailed. These is a rare opportunity to have an interesting part of American history Posted with e5b.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk.rp*b7g%3Ee5b-13d0919b8c7-0xf6-

1775 Revolutionary War Era Map of New England - Boston, Harbor, MA NH CT RI
An excellent example of Thomas Jefferys’ famous map of New England. In four unjoined sheets as issued. Published in Augsburg by Tobias Conrad Lotter, this edition is always more richly colored than the English Jefferys. Lotter was one of the leading German mapmakers of the 18th century, and his edition of the map is particularly useful in that it preserves the original English language text for the title, notations, tables and placenames. Jefferys’ A Map of the Most Inhabited part of New England was the first accurate survey of the area and one of the earliest large scale regional maps of any part of America. First issued in 1755. It continued to be published in various forms until after the Revolutionary War. The map includes an inset plan at upper left of Boston that shows the city at the start of the Revolution. And a second inset of Boston ... moreHarbor near the title. There is a large finely engraved vignette below the title that shows the Pilgrims landing at Plymouth Rock. THOMAS JEFFERYS] Map: A Map of the Most Inhabited Part of New England. Containing the provinces of Massachusetts Bay and new Hampshire, with the colonies of Conecticut and Rhode Island, Divided into Counties and Townships The whole composed from Actual Survey and its Situation adjusted by Astronomical Observations. Augsburg, Germany: Tobias Conrad Lotter, 1775. 4 sheets. 22” x 25” each. Inventory#8904 Please view our website for better images. This item is sold unframed. ABOUT THE SELLER For over 20 years. Large Custom-Quality Vintage Vietnam War-Era Commando Bowie Knife Italy Italian
This outstanding Vietnam War-era bowie-style commando knife was made in the late 1960's/early'70's to be sold in the PX's of American military bases around the globe. It's OBVIOUSLY similar to a classic design by Bo Randall of Orlando. Florida, but what it lacks in originality it more than makes up for in bang for the buck. At a small franction of what you'd pay for a Randall piece of the same size, style and vintage, this outstanding knife delivers a First Class weapon whose reliable, high-quality lethality and general usefulness could save the life of a soldier in need when nothing short of your life depended upon it. In the field of battle, knives like this found loyal use among Rangers, Green Beret, LRP's and any other soldier who understood the need for this kind of reliability. The quality of its materials ... moreand craftsmanship are custom quality in every detail. Its thick, beautifully ground and tapered blade is stout carbon steel, honed to a sharp edge made for ruining an enemy combatant's war, not to mention his day. Its beautifully sculpted leather-stacked handle is thicker than most with a solid brass cross-quillon and a large stainless steel pommel with brass finial. It's much larger than most knives of this kind, measuring just over 12-5/8" with a blade that's 7-5/8" long. It comes not in its original leather sheath, but in a VERY high-quality black nylon military sheath which fits it much better than the original and which is much less reflective of light. This is the last of three similar knives we're selling for a neighbor whose son-in-law intended to use it in active service a few years ago but never had the chance, and he greatly preferred this sheath for safety and security. The knife is in stunning condition apart from some VERY minor tarnish at the very tip of blade(what VERY little tarnish on it is from storage and will easily come away) It has NEVER been used. Holding this knife tempts one to engage in behavior befitting only someone behind
