Up for bid is a beautiful Victorian Walnut and burl Walnut Dresser Mirror/ Peer Mirror. This mirror has a craved top and bottom with burl sides. Mirror is 44.75" tall x 26.25" wide x 2" Deep. this is an exquisite very rare antique victorian large wall mirror. it has exquisite ornate detailing. And made from very heavy solid brass. on the top is a large lion head which has very beautiful detail and in his mouth holds 3 dimensional scrollwork which leads down to the circle mirror. the mirror actually sits off of the wall and hangs from the lions mouth. Very exquisite obscure design. the mirror is in great shape. It was replaced at some point, and as well as the cardboard backing in the back, looks great. the piece has a wonderful patina from age. Beautiful Pair of Victorian Mirrored Wall Sconces c1900 These are absolutely beautiful Victorian wall sconces made from solid bronze. The sconces are extremely decorative and of fine quality. The detail is fabulous and they are a real statement piece. The frames are in exceptional condition with very little in the way of wear. The mirrors are however replacements and in our opinion haven't been fitted particularly well with only a silicon fixing. The mirrors could be easily replaced if required. A properly fitted piece of antique glass would increase the value of these sconces considerably. That said this can only be seen when they are off the wall and are beautiful even as they are. I see one tiny knick on the inner left edge, near the mirror at about 10 o'clock. Great old dark patina on this wood. I'm guessing it has the sunlight hitting it on the right side for a hundred hears. This is made from one block of wood. No glue. The frame measures 11 1/2 inches diameter The mirror area is 6 inches diameter. The frame is 1 1/2 inches thick. The mirror is a replacement. The thumb tack was holding a string for hanging. This is an extremely high quality antique 19th century solid bronze Victorian figural table mirror. it is extremely ornate with an abundance of intricate detailing. Very dimensional, and done in high relief.
