Wood separations, Sturdy. Very good overall condition, This charming mahogany smokers cabinet was crafted in Victorian England around 1850. The mahogany displays a rich complexion and a highly pronounced grain that have only grown more beautiful with time; the same is true for the exquisite satinwood and ebony inlays that adorn the interior of this piece. The richness of the wood owes to the elaborate finishing process that Victorian cabinetmakers employed in constructing their furniture; there were often over a dozen steps in the finishing process. Which ended with a fine, hand-rubbed coat of wax. Not only does the wax enrich and protect the beauty of the wood, but it is easily maintained for long periods of time: waxing a piece just twice a year will keep it looking new indefinitely. This fine Victorian smokers cabinet is certainly an excellent example of how smart craftsmanship can defy the perils of time. It has. However, sustained some wear, including superficial separations in the wood and a number of scuffs. It has also lost a few knobs on the interior drawers; the small, inner door has also warped so that it doesn't fully shut. Neither do the exterior doors lock. However, none of these details detract from the fundamental beauty and convenience of this piece; instead, they only add to its lovely antique charm. Overall condition is therefore very good: whether used for its original purpose, as a jewelry box, or for storing other small items, this smokers cabinet would make a fine addition to any furniture collection! Made in England, Victorian era, Circa 1890, Mahogany, Hidden drawer, Carved leg, Dovetailed drawer, Some normal wear to top, Age splits and old repairs to apron, A wonderful antique specimen from England around 1890. This hall table was probably once used as a washstand. But today would function perfectly in a foyer, entryway, hallway, or stairwell. The mahogany has a particularly nice patina to it that can only come with age. The piece features a hidden drawer in the middle for a little bit of storage room. The nicely carved front leg gives the table some pizazz while the clean lines of the piece don't over do it. The drawer is dovetailed, a sign of high quality craftsmanship. There are a few age splits and old repairs in the apron shown in the photos. These are purely cosmetic phenomenon and do not affect the structural integrity of the piece. The top also shows wear marks consistent with age and has a faded ring to the right side. Overall the table is quite sturdy and would make a wonderful addition to any home. The top is a beautiful patinated mahogany. It is in good condition. You can see the slight ring to the right side. The top does show signs of wear consistent with age in the form of tiny dings all over the surface some of which can be seen here. The wonderfully carved leg is supportive and good looking. The hidden drawer pulls out to reveal some storage space. The drawer is dovetailed. A sign of high quality craftsmanship. Both sides have similar slight age separations and repairs on the apron. Beautiful late 1800s British Victorian mahogany dresser top vanity mirror. Made of mahogany veneers. Solid mahogany and pine secondary woods. The piece has two pull-out drawers and a center storage area with lid. Overall measurement is 25 1/4" wide x 31 1/2" tall x 12 3/4" deep. Finish is in very good condition. Brought back from England in the early 1970s. Weight is 23 lbs. MIRROR: Swivels on two brass hinges which can be opened to remove mirror. Mirror can be accessed by removing wood panel on back. Which is held in place by simple brass turn latches. Flame mahogany veneered base and mirror frame Square form mirror Serpentine formed base Scroll carved feet Scrolling mirror supports of solid mahogany. 56cm to top of mirror. 46cm wide 22cm deep Mirror and frame held securely with Patent ball joint friction fittings in brass. These enable the mirror to be positioned at any angle. Areas of Veneer missing to base. Splitting of veneer to base, area of veneer missing to frame, slight silvering to mirror. You can see the mirrors in the background have some peeling but it adds character to them and their age. They each have a sticker on the back of them and each stamped 814 shown in last two photos. Not sure if the hanging hooks are original or not as a couple hooks look to have been reattached on the back, please refer to photos. They hang perfectly fine with the hangers on them as photos show. I see one tiny knick on the inner left edge, near the mirror at about 10 o'clock. Great old dark patina on this wood. I'm guessing it has the sunlight hitting it on the right side for a hundred hears. This is made from one block of wood. No glue. The frame measures 11 1/2 inches diameter The mirror area is 6 inches diameter. The frame is 1 1/2 inches thick. The mirror is a replacement. The thumb tack was holding a string for hanging. This auction is for a victorian tri-fold mahogany beveled glass shaving mirror embossed leather. The leather embossing of early birds and hunters& game. Archers spears& sword hunters. It is used, the leather does show cosmetic wear. Each section is 5" x 7" in size. The mirrors have beveled edges- some spots with silver loss, no cracks. No manufacturers markings that I can see. Late Victorian Edwardian inlaid mahogany overmantle mirror ca 1895
Gorgeous Edwardian period overmantel mirror with triple beveled mirrors and inlaid ribbons and bellflowers. There is one large oval mirror on the bottom section. And the top section has two smaller square mirrors, and an inlaid bellflower wreath with three ribbons. There is a shelf on top which can be used to display pieces of pottery, photos, or great for Christmas decorations. A beautiful piece to complete your period decor. The main body of the mirror is 41" wide, and 36"tall. The mirror is 49" at the base, which is its widest part. There is some damage to the finish, and some light separation at the seams which is photographed. The top shelf was screwed on to the brackets at some point. For PICK-UP ONLY. I am selling an ANTIQUE wooden wall mirror that used to be on a dresser or a chest of drawers. It is 41-¼ inches long and 27-¾ inches wide. I think it is made of MAHOGANY(the wood has a reddish tone in a few places where it shows through the finish) I think it is from the VICTORIAN Era. The glass and wood backing look original. You can see shimmering silver specks beneath the surface of the glass. The backing is held on with old flathead screws. The sides, top and bottom of the main wooden structure are joined together with dovetail joints. The raised part of the design(the border, scrolls and“fan” on top) were applied to the front of the main structure. Halfway up on each side, on the outer edges, there are threaded holes where the mirror attached to a dresser. One hole is open. The other hole has a broken off ... morepeg inside. As far as I can tell. Everything is original, including the glass and the wood backing. Again, it was originally on a dresser or chest of drawers. The hanging hardware is pretty old, so I would guess it was converted in the mid-1900s. Along with the silver specks in the mirror, there are a few faint streaks. The outer edges of the wood have the most wear and there are a few shrink cracks. On different areas on the wood, the lacquer is either worn through, darkened or alligatored. AMAZING HUGE CARVED VICTORIAN MAHOGANY MIRROR 1880's %%% Brown wood
This is sooooo beautiful! Huge mirror in fantastic condition. Really would make a statement in any room. It is 51 1/2 inches tall and 48 inches wide because the bottom shelves bow out a bit.The ornate cornice at the top and the shelves come off for easier transporting. It has posts that could be attached to a dresser or sideboard. Thanks for looking! I have it listed at local pick up but I am willing to work with you if you want to hire a shipping company.
