This is a vintage metal silver toned case for mechanical pencil lead. The lead has been used. The case measures 4-3/8" long and 1/4" in diameter and opens up to reveal the storage area. It is assumed that this item also is a U. S. military item, but this has not been confirmed nor has its age. The unusual design consists of a detailed three-dimensional depiction of an eagle with a parachute. The pin measures approximately 1-3/4 x 7/8" and has a hinged attachment pin with hook-type latch.
