Antique Oval Small Mirror Frame Bronze Brass? Very Heavy, Ornate, Foundry Mark
This is a very old and very heavy frame. Probably made in the late Victorian era at the end of the 19th century, or the very early 20th century. It is marked on the back 217 and in another place it looks like NB+NY- not sure about this mark, the second part is hard read. Might be NV or even IW. I believe it is bronze or brass. I have seen this frame in a larger version many times in cast iron, and those are heavy, but this one is REALLY heavy. You may have seen frames like this that are usually a foot tall or more. This is a little guy. Only 9" tall and 8" across. The frame has been fitted with a mirror which is newer. There are 3 little tabs that more easily on the back. And you could replace the mirror with glass and use it as a picture frame if you wanted. I think this frame probably had an easel-back at one time so that you ... morecould use it on a table. That has not survived the last 125 years or so. This is suitable for hanging with 2 small screws that would hold each curved piece at the top. The mirror itself measures 5.5 x 7.5 inches. The mirror is in decent condition for it's age. There is one small crack in the glass toward the top but it does not effect the integrity of the glass. This might be a mercury mirror but I'm not sure of that. You be the judge. One of the arms that hold the mirror to the back is missing. The other three are there. The mirror frame is made of heavy brass, oval shape mirror, lovely and heavily molded details that has an art nouveau style to it, and an adorable cherub on the left side that is anchored on with a screw. Back of the mirror has a wire for easy hanging on a wall, or add an easel or brace on the back so it can stand. Measures overall up to 7"in. wide, 12"in. tall, and 2 1/2"in. deep. ANTQ/VTG Pittsburgh Lamp Brass & Glass Co P.L.B.& Co Oval Beveled Vanity Mirror
This is a wonderful early 20th century beveled vanity or foyer mirror. Generous in size. It measures approximately 13" wide and 17 1/4" tall. It is marked on the back(see photos) P.L.B. Co. and the numbers"893" though it could also be 898) The Pittsburgh Lamp. Brass& Glass Co. operated from about 1901 to 1926. Nicholas Kopp founded the original Kopp Glass in 1900. He was a renowned chemist. And built the company on his knowledge and ability to hand mold beautiful lamps and tableware. In 1901, Kopp took on new partners and renamed the company Pittsburgh Lamp, Brass and Glass Company(P.L.B. Co. specializing in lamps. Prosperity didn't last forever for Nick and in 1926 he went bankrupt. He reorganized and renamed the company Kopp Glass, Inc. Signal lenses, light fixtures, lamps and vases were the core of Kopp's ... morebusiness. That's why this mirror is SO VERY RARE AND UNUSUAL. I have not been able to find a single example of this mirror with the P.L.B. Co. marking. I am speculating that it is brass. But it could be something else. The thing is, I think Kopp would use the same materials as his lamp bases, so it is a fair assumption that this was made of like materials to his lamps(which go for thousands of dollars at auction today. The mirror is in very good condition. There is some wear to the patina in places. Consistent with age, use and handling. There are some"spots" on the mirror which tell its age and one very small chip on the very outside edge of the oval, left side near the metal. see last photo. Does not detract from the mirror at all, in fact, I never even noticed it until I started to take a really good look at it to list. Any slight wear, etc, is overshadowed by the mirror's soft patina, its lovely swirls, spray at the top, and scallop shell at the bottom. I also think the crossed"x" ties around the edge of the mirror itself gives the piece weight. Not too over the top; just the right mix of designs. A substantial and unique piece. Made in Pennsylva

This cast brass picture frame has been converted from an easel back photo frame and to a mirror made to hang on the wall. The frame measures 11" by 9" across the outer rim with a 5" by 4" wide opening for the mirror. There is a metal plate on the back attached with four flat head screws and a wire that goes from each side to hang on the wall. This is not cast iron and metal is not magnetic. Outstanding Jennings Bros. Large Oval Brass Putti Cherubs Vanity Mirror
Wonderful antique brass mirror features oval beveled glass mirror with intricate puttis or cherubs on either side holding the end of a drape holding fruits and flowers. The top displays the head of two cherubs. This is an easel style vanity or dresser mirror and is in very good condition. Mirror is intact with very minor silvering loss on the bottom right edge behind brass decorative frame. We believe this was made by Jennings Bros but could not locate any trademark. It has a pretty Art Deco Style metal ormolu across the top of it's metal frame. This is a very pretty mirror. It still works and with it's pretty and simple style adds interest and charm anywhere you hang it. It is a true wall mirror complete with chain and mounts on the back. This is an older mirror. More than likely 70 to 80 years old or older and for it's age& travels it's in good overall condition but it is not Perfect. It does have some very small scratches on the glass and some small dark spots on the silvering. The clarity is good. It's still a wonderful older mirror that would make any wall look better. Oh so lovely. This oval vintage mirror/vanity tray measures 16 1/2 x 8 inches overall and has a burgandy velvet back for sitting on a dresser or vanity. Large Oval Mirror Dark Oak Wooden Frame English Quality Piece 31" x 24" 20 Lbs. The old Mirror with the Brass Eagle on the top. The approximate age is beginning of 20th Century. The mirror framed in wood. The upper left side has a damage the wood is detached a little bit. I think it is possible to fix. Regency Style Antique English Oval Brass & Wood Mirror
An absolutely charming brass over wood mirror with simple lines and decoration. Perfect for an entry. Hall, library, bedroom or bath. A wonderful relic of'modern life' from the first half of the 19th century. It was purchased in London over a decade ago and has been much enjoyed for its simplicity of design and obvious age. The interior surface of the'pressed' brass frame is beaded. Bordered by a convex band and finished with an overlapping'paisley' shape design. The mirror is held in place between the brass frame. A hardwood'under-frame' and a thin, flat wood back panel. The wood under-frame is joined by a'loose tenon' at 12 and 6 o'clock. There are points of separation in the wood frame; the top tenon is broken, causing a split in the wood and there is another split at 3 o'clock. The back ... morepanel is also split. Between the mirror(which appears old. Was shaped to fit the frame and has jagged edges) there are three new thin sheets of wood to stabilize the mirror. The back panel is held in place by several old and newer nails. There are some unimportant scrapes and nicks on the back. There is a'hole' in the bottom at 6 o'clock, possibly for mounting? Due to its age all of the wood pieces fit together loosely. Nothing is snug or tight. This doesn't affect its appearance when hung, but does mean it should be handled somewhat gingerly. Two metal eyelets and a piece of string are used to hang the mirror. Could be restored. But why? Approximate measurements: 12 3/8" H and 10 7/16" W.
