The frame itself is lovely and has been made from carved wood and gesso and is then finished in gilding to create a wonderful effect. There is superb fine detailing all around the mirror. The silvered mirror. Which is original, is is very nice condition and is bevelled glass. Please note the mirror is in super condition any marks in the photograph are simply light reflections. The frame of the mirror is a wonderful oval shape and has some very nice detailing to the top of wreaths and ribbon with a bow which sets the mirror off beautifully as can be seen from the photographs. Ornate Georgian Wooden Mirror with Gilt Coating. Featuring leaf/vine design frame and an oval bevelled glass mirror. Measures approx 24" top to bottom. This frame has been previously repaired at the back where the wooden frame has cracked. Vintage Art Deco Barbola Oval Dressing Table Mirror - Bevelled Glass
A Really Beautiful Barbola Dressing Table Mirror With Bevelled Glass and Particularly Fine Flower Ornamentation and Blue Ribbon Edging. As is usual for Barbola items. A couple of the delicate flower petals are slightly broken and their is one tiny spot to the mirror. But these do not detract from the overall attractiveness of the piece. It has gilt backing and wire for wall mounting if desired. None of the blue scrolled ribbon edging is missing and the colours are still vibrant on this lovely antique mirror. It measures 46cm(18" in height. And 34cm(13.25" in width. Delivery is by 24 hour"door to door" courier service or the mirror can be collected in person from either Malvern. The mirror is oozing character and is a must have for anyone looking for an original 30's mirror with a bit of age to it. The mirror has lovely shape and retains its original hanging chain. The back of the mirror is wooden as you would expect. The edges of the mirror is beveled which really completes this beautiful piece. The mirror is extremely good quality and is ready to hang. Up for auction is this large ornate antique oval wood beveled glass mirror. This piece is very heavy! Wood frame has some damage and the glass has silvering issues but this adds to its character. Vintage Hand Mirror Faux Tortoise Shell Large Oval Bevelled Glass Bakelite?
This is a beauty. The mirror could be Bakelite or plastic or celluloid. But the faux tortoise pattern is gorgeous whatever the composition. The vintage could range between the 1920s to 1950s, I am not sure. The surface of the tortoise shell is in remarkably good condition showing some gentle wear. The bevelled edge mirror is perfect and retains all of its silvering. The overall length of the mirror is 29.5cm. At its widest(landscape) the frame plus mirror measures about 20.5cm. The other widest measurement of the oval(portrait) is just under 14cm. It has a satisfying heft in the hand and feels well balanced. I am uncertain of its origins but was found in Australia.
