UP for your consideration this week is a Beautiful Antique or Vintage Wood possibly KOA Hand Mirror. NEW LOWER PRICE MOTIVATED SELLER! Note- I am not an expert in wood. And do not claim to be. This could be KOA, Rosewood, Teak, Oak etc. I really have no idea. Description: When I picked it up at the Estate Sale. I just thought it was beautiful. Someone who knows wood can probably take a look at the pics and tell exactly what type of wood it is. I can tell you this. The wood is a really pretty maple caramel color and feels really smooth to the touch. There are some minor scratches, and a tiny stain on the back of the mirror. The mirror itself is in excellent shape. Mirror is not beveled. Has a nice weight to it where it wont tire out your hand or arm in my opinion. This is an old first part of the 1900s decorative mirror from a fabulous estate. Most everything in this house was from the teens or 1920s era. The mirror is 22 1/2" by 14" and is some sort of plaster with a gold. Dark burgandy gilt. It has a green and black crest type shield on the bottom. It has been hanging in my house all that time& now I have added a cabinet in my house where it was& I really don't have room for it now. It is in original. Unrestored condition. Mirror is nice, has some pretty etching. Mirror is heavy for it's size, 12" by 22" It would look even more fabulous with a new coat of gold paint, but I like to leave items in their original condition. Impressive. Large Statement Piece! Genuine Antique. This fabulous gold leaf mirror has been in our family for many decades, over 40 years that I personally recall. I believe the frame is made of wood, and gold leaf. An appraiser gave us an age of the mirror made circa 1920-1930. Measures aprox 44" tall and 27" wide. The back has a wire for hanging, and the back is covered in plain brown paper. Looks incredible in a foyer or dining room! Ornate Brass? Mirror Accented with Cherubs-Free Standing- Estate Find
Ornately designed free standing mirror which appears to be brass. No markings. But beautifully done. Since this is an item from an estate I can not say it's age or maker. I was told it is a vintage piece. It stands 22" high and 12" wide. Very detailed in it's design. The cherub at the top is attached with a screw as a separate piece. And has a bit of play which can be remedied by tightening the screw I imagine. The mirror fits in with small holders similar to how a picture is fitted to a frame. It has a few small black dots and a line showing wear to the back of the mirror. Easily replaced. Beautiful vintage design. This rare pair of gold-colored convex mirrors measures 5 inches across each. The eagle atop of each one has a wingspread about 2 inches. D's pieces are extremely well detailed. The members themselves to show some discoloration in the silver. Overall the frames are in excellent shape but as always all these old things are sold"as is. Up for your consideration is this Boston classical gilt wood pier mirror. It is made in America from the classical period circa 1830. It is massive mirror with its original gold leaf surface on complex turnings and carvings. It does have the original mirror. Can be hung vertically or horizontally over a mantle chest or table. It is in very good condition with only a small piece of one of the decorations on a square missing although it does not detract from its beauty by any means. It comes from a wealthy Conn estate. All items listed are Original and Genuine. As always! Empire Mahogany OGEE Mirror. Circa 1840-50. Wonderful period mid 1800's mahogany Ogee Mirror from a North Alabama Estate. Overall great condition. Totally original with the beautiful rich finish and patina. The veneer is in good condition overall with only flakes missing along the very edges ONLY. See images. When displayed these are not even noticeable. The mirror is ORIGINAL with normal wear. But still in great shape for its age. I like it original, not"new" looking. The back has the old wood backing and old hangers ready to display above a mantel or dresser. HANDSOME OLD PIECE! NOT A REPRODUCTION! Overall size 31" X 21" and 2" deep.
