THE FINEST C.1820 NEW YORK MINIATURE EMPIRE CHEST, SELECT CROTCH MAHOGANY WOODS
Pictured here is an exceptionally fine C. 1820 New York 4 drawer miniature chest in excellent condition. It has been refinished to show the vibrant crotch mahogany and curly maple grains. Other than a couple of very minor veneer patches. The chest looks very much the way it did when it was made. The cotter pinned hardware is fire gilt and original. The drawers are dovetailed and the bottoms are champhered. The woods are mahogany and some poplar as secondary wood. Dimensions are 15 1/2" wide. 9 1/2" deep, and 17" tall. The top drawer. Which is veneered curly maple. Was probably intended as a secret drawer but the catch for the bottom is missing. It could easily be repaired. Professional packing and 3 day air shipping by The UPS Store with insurance is $100. California buyer pays 8 3/4% sales tax.

Nice vintage mahogany ukulele. No markings. Looks to be a mainland style U.S. made uke probably from the 1950s-1960s. Very solid, no cracks or repairs. About the same size and design as a Kamaka soprano. Last photo shows comparison with Kamaka on right. The neck is much thinner than the Kamaka making it easier for small hands. Great sounding and playing USA Washburn. This is from 1996. When for a couple years Washburn guitars were made at the Tacoma factory in Washington. The Washburn Forums have a lot of interesting conversations about these guitars, and there are great pics at vintage Washburn- look for the Jim Smith Sr. collection. This is a Cheyenne 46S… solid sitka spruce top with some bearclawing and solid mahogany back and sides. The guitar plays and sounds great. Quite a bit of play wear around the sound hole and lighter play wear throughout, but no problems anywhere. There is a hairline finish-only crack on the back of the headstock coming off the screw on the D tuner. Some white residue on the edge of the bridge, no lifting or bellying. Bound neck. Up for auction is my Mele tenor ukulele made of all solid woods. It has a beautiful solid spruce top with bear claw and quarter sawn stripes. The back and sides are solid mahogany with vintage style purfling. I bought this ukelele new for over $500.00. It is a very nice instrument that has a great voice and excellent projection. It is about a year and a half old and shows very little signs of wear except for the following: a slight hairline crack that goes from the sound hole to the bridge pictures 2 and 7. Slight wear in the finish from strumming(also 2 and7) and slight wear in the finish on the back side of the neck around the area of the first two frets. None of this affects the playability and the instrument is structurally sound. It is strung with Aquila strings with low G.
