early-mid 1800's antique furniture Civil War era MIRROR w/ MAHOGANY veneer
This early 19th century mirror measures 15" high x 13" wide and is made with two separate mahogany veneered frames. The inside frame having a nice beveled surface. The two frames are held together using square nails and the hanger on top is made of brass. Condition: a couple small nicks to veneer. The largest being 1/4" and located at top right corner; some bruises and small cracks on wooden frame but nothing distracting from its overall look; the brass hanger is original though it was moved at one time because it loosened up; mirror was replaced and shows some cloudiness. Ogee-type turn of 18th c. mahogany veneer mirror
This is a beautiful mirror from the late 1700s-early 1800s. I've actually had it on one of my walls for the past few years. And am only letting it go because I'm replacing it with an actual ogee mirror that's 3 times its size. It has a gorgeous, warm, lustrous mahogany frame with great patina. At one time. It would have had some sort of crest at the top, which is now gone, revealing the cross-shaped mounting holes where it had been. In place, the holes aren't noticeable. The same applies to the strange scratches that I just noticed on the edge of one of the sides(in photo) which could probably be largely smoothed over w/ some paste wax(I hate to suggest such things, but it's true) It's only a stretch of a couple inches on one side close to the corner. I took a last photo with my phone to show that. As with all such ... moremirrors, the silver isn't perfect anymore. The dark areas in that photos are dark areas that don't reflect an image as well. That funny triangle in the corner is a reflection of something, though. The mirror worked well enough for me. but I'll suffer for fashion(and the integrity of a 200-year-old mirror) You won't find one of these every day. Help me find it a good home. Antique Empire Mahogany Veneer Wall Mirror with Wooden Back
An antique. Empire period, wooden mirror with mahogany veneer and wooden back.good size. The mirror, inside 8" wide by 10" high within frame measuring 12 1/4" by 14 1/4" Has a blocked border with a champfered back.very well made, probably circa 1840-1850. I'm sure the mirror has been replaced and there are a few small veneer chips missing, but this is a very desirable size and can be used both for both country or Victorian settings.it will polish well. Personally, I prefer this straight style to the typical ogee mirror from this period, they are much harder to come by. Happy Hunting!

Large 19th Century Mahogany Veneer Ogee Wall Mirror
The frame of this mahogany veneer mirror measures 18 and 1/2 x 26 inches. The mirror itself is almost 10 x 17 inches. There are 4 small flakes of veneer missing as shown in the photos. The mirror has a small bit of discoloration which resembles a smudge but it is impervious to cleaning. Buyer will pay for shipping.
