You are bidding on an elegant Italian Florentine Gilded Oval Mirror. This lovely mirror is done in a simple understated style. The frame is a simple rounded moulding accented on both the inner circle and outer rim with a beaded design. The gilding is in wonderful condition with a mildly distressed finished to suggest aging. The mirror itself measures 8.5 inches by 6.25 inches. The entire piece measures 11.25 inches by 8.75 inches. The mirror itself is clear without any flaws. Two of them are a matched pair. They measure 9.5" long by approximately 7.75" across. The third(on the left) measures 13.75" long x approximately 8.25" across. The fourth(on the right) measures 12.25" long x 8" across. Only the fourth is clearly made of wood. I can't be sure what the first three are made of but it resembles wood. Vintage Italian Florentia Florentine Wood Mirror / Frame Gold Gilt, Gesso Gothic
Up for your consideration is a vintage Florentia handmade frame made in Italy. This item is stunning and ornate. It measures approx. 14.75" x 12.75" with a beautiful goddess on the top wearing a string of pearls around her neck and a regal roaring lion on the bottom. The window dimensions are approx. 5" x 12" The frame has gilt gold and gesso still vibrantly beautiful considering the age. Based on its stunning condition.this frame must have sat in very favorable conditions for many years. When I received it, it had very little dust. I cleaned all the nooks and crannies very lightly. The only issue that this frame has is the paper on the back is torn a little(see pic) There are no cracks or chips. The gold and gesso still look very vibrant. It still has the original cardboard insert. I'm not sure if this frame ever ... morehad anything in it.but it would make a wonderful mirror or picture frame.
