Fantastic Italian Mirror! Wonderful small ornate and gilded mirror from Florence Italy. Mirror measures 5.5" x 4.75" and is just great. Excellent carving. The gilding is near perfect and the overall condition is excellent. One small spot of roughness to the gilding on one corner(see photos) Does not detract at all. The backside is the great traditional florentine paper that you see on most of these small mirrors. The hanging loop is missing but it would be very easy to add a wire and hang either direction. Vintage Italian Florentia Florentine Wood Mirror / Frame Gold Gilt, Gesso Gothic
Up for your consideration is a vintage Florentia handmade frame made in Italy. This item is stunning and ornate. It measures approx. 14.75" x 12.75" with a beautiful goddess on the top wearing a string of pearls around her neck and a regal roaring lion on the bottom. The window dimensions are approx. 5" x 12" The frame has gilt gold and gesso still vibrantly beautiful considering the age. Based on its stunning condition.this frame must have sat in very favorable conditions for many years. When I received it, it had very little dust. I cleaned all the nooks and crannies very lightly. The only issue that this frame has is the paper on the back is torn a little(see pic) There are no cracks or chips. The gold and gesso still look very vibrant. It still has the original cardboard insert. I'm not sure if this frame ever ... morehad anything in it.but it would make a wonderful mirror or picture frame. This is a set of 3 vintage frames/mirrors. The Larger one is app. 6 x 8 1/2 inches in size; 2 smaller ones are app. 3 3/4 x 6 inches in size. They are all Marked with"Made in Italy" on the backside of each one. They date from the 1940's They are all in Very Good Condition No chips. Lovely antique Barbola Italian Florentine wooden mirror has a beautiful botanical design at top and intricate details on the edges. It has wonderful gold and silver gilt embellishments. This one dates to around the 1920'3- 1930's. Art Nouveau, Art Deco. Condition is very good on this Italian gold frame. for the age. There is some minor wear considering 80 + years old, has held up well. There is lovely patina with minor chipping. and slight surface cracks. This LARGE vintage Italian Florentine Oval Gesso mirror has a beautiful botanical design going around the edge of the frame. This one dates to around the 1950's– 60’s. This Rococo style frame is wood& composition material. It looks like Barbola around the edges. Condition is very good for the age on this Italian gold frame. There is a lovely uneven patina to the scrolling and inner edge& minor chipping for the age. typical in vintage Florentine) Some of the gold has worn away on the scrolling so you can get a glimpse of the underneath. The flat outer edge that goes against the wall has some chips and fading of the gold, see all close-ups. All in all a nice vintage piece!
