this is a stunning vintage hand carved wooden convex wall mirror. it is a very large mirror and has a wonderful gold gilt finish. the mirror is circular and has a convex domed shape. the top is a large very ornate eagle with wings spread. He stands on the mirror with a long olive leaf in hand. the mirror has many dimensional spheres running around the whole border of the frame. the bottom also has very dimensional ornate detailing with a stylized floral design. the frame measures 30 3/4 by 22 1/2 inches. already has a hanging wire on the back ready for mounting. it is in great shape and no pieces missing. the actual convex mirror is fading a bit but still does work as a mirror. Huge Antique American Chippendale Mohagany Mirror surmounted by spreadwing Eagle
Up for sale is Antique/Vintage American Chippendale style Mahogany Mirror Surmounted by spread wings Eagle. I found and bought this mirror at estate sale in Pasadena. California 1880's mansion just front of Cal-Tech few years ago. I believe the frame of mirror and other wooden parts are mahogany and have made by hand cutted and carved. This kind of Chippendale mirrors were popular in United States and called American Chippendale Mirror. I never have seen this size of American Chippendale Mirror before. The dimension of mirror is 70-1/2" tall x 33" width. Very nice to Hallway! I do not know how to ship to out of town. I listed as local-pick up. But he buyer can arrange the shipment and pay shipping fee.

ANTIQUE PAIRPOINT Quadplate HUGE PLATEAU MIRROR 16" 8595 w Ball Feet HTF I am offering a very large Plateau mirror which was made by Pairpoint and is the largest I have ever seen. This plateau is marked# 8595 16 which is the closet diameter of the mirror although the mirror is actually about 15 3/4" in diameter. The mirror is done with a lovely silver quadplate framed area that features 6 sets of 3 small ball feet. That outer dimension is about 18 1/2" from foot to foot. The mirror has a cut beveled design around the outer edge that is ovals that are all connected which I have tried to show in a photo. The mirror has some scratches from use and being old but I see very minimal cloudiness. A couple of the scratches are about 2" long but most are quite light and not real significant in my estimation. The silver frame area ... morehas not been polished and everything is shown as found other than my cleaning of the glass. I see very minor silver loss and most areas should polish up quite well. Backside has black lightweight cardboard type covering over the mirror area and is original to the piece.Has a few wear spots to the black areas of the paper.The backside is where the Pairpoint name and info is embossed into the metal. This piece is very nice and the minor problems mentioned above are quite normal for something this old and having been used. Please excuse the reflections in the glass for my photos as I could not get any without some reflection. Winning bid pays shipping and handling which includes insurance.
