Antique Collectible Hand Held Beveled Mirror Very Detail and Beautiful Detail !
I have here an antique mirror. I don't know to much about this item. I searched high and low on the internet to get more information and was unable to do so. It is beautifully made with a lot of detail that is hard to pick up on camera. The back side of the mirror has a raised image of a young woman sitting at a table with candles and what appears to be a writing utensil in her hand. The original paint on this mirror is chipped and rubbed off in a lot of places but just adds to the character of this piece. It is absolutely beautiful! Vintage ORNATE HAND HELD MIRROR with Markings - Lovely outdoor Scene
This vintage ornate hand mirror measures 4 10/16" long and 2 4/16" wide. It weighs 1.7 oz. so handles nicely. The mirror itself is not clear. It is like the backing on the back is worn off. The unique old fashioned outdoor scene on it is quite interesting with a cabin in the background. The pick axe, dog, barrel, what appears to be a fiddler and three other men in the woods. I am not sure if this is silver or not since so far I have not been able to verify it but the markings on the side are shown in picture#3 which I hope will help you know more about it. This is a lovely late 19 th century Chinese enamel hand held mirror that measures 10 11/16” long x 4 ¼” wide at its widest x ¼” thick. It has a beveled mirror with copper back and handle. The elaborate hand enamel design includes; flowers. Fruits, leaves and vines, lily pads in a body of water and Chinese Rats scampering. It is accented with flowers on the outer edge of the mirror. There are multiple gold stars around her that appear to be wearing(probably from someone trying to clean it or rubbing it with the wrong cloth) The handle has a small cherub at the bottom of it.
