You are looking at a uniquely shaped antique gilded wood framed mirror. This mirror measures about 8.5" x 15" It is by no means in new condition. The frame is warped and had cracked long ago. It has old staples on the back(both left& right side of the frame) keeping the frame intact(see photos) The remainder of the wood frame seems to be in pretty good shape. The mirror has a lot of scuffs and scratches. The old paper on the back is all but gone and the cardboard on the back looks moldy. Even with all those flaws. It's still a very unique antique mirror.

I have for sale a wood gesso black/gold mirror with gilded top It has an hexagon top- square bottom The mirror has some very faint black dots that is normal with aging. The back still has the brown parchment paper although there is a rip in the paper. it is a beautiful old mirror and is in great shape for its age. There are two tiny little marks on the bottom of the frame where the black gesso has worn off(see picture- hardly noticeable at all) It is 22 1/2 inches long an 11 1/2 inches wide. Vintage Italian, all wood carved and gold gilded Framed Mirror with an exquisitely carved urn or vase of flowers as the focal point at the very top of the piece, flanked on either side by garlands of flowers which connect to the body of the mirror. Frame measures approximately 53 3/4" by 27" at its longest and widest points, the actual rectangular mirror measures 20 1/2" by 36" Condition is very good and better than expected for a delicate. Vintage gilded Italian Florentine frame in a large oval shape with carved border within a pierced and carved scrolling foliate frame. The frame looks like it was made to hold a mirror but we are selling it in its as found condition without a mirror. It can also hold a painting if this is how the new owner would like to use it. From tip to tip in both directions the frame measures 34" H x 34" W The mirror itself is about 7 1/4" square. The mirror frame is composed by four quadrants. Two of them being a tiny wobbly recommending to be fastened at the center square in the back. Mirror(glass itself) shows its age. Purchased in its actual condition at an antique shop in Venice. This is a gorgeous. Opulent wall mirror. The frame is black and old gold and is ornately decorated. It seems to be high quality and the guy I bought it from said it came from a VERY nice estate in Malibu. I have no idea of the age of the piece, but it looks great and it comes ready wired for hanging with heavy duty fixings(in portrait orientation, but no doubt you can get it changed to landscape, if you wish) It is a good size 33 by 20 1/2 inches and the mirror is 25.5 by 13 inches. The mirror has a beveled edge and is in good condition. The back shows some superficial damage and the front has some chipping revealing the white gesso below, but it is stable and just gives it a bit of patina. It is very heavy. ANTIQUE MEDITERRANEAN GESSO GILDED ORNATE WOOD 19 CENTURY 13O YEAR OLD MIRROR Up for your consideration is this really nice antique Mediterranean style gesso gilded ornate wood frame 19th century 130 year old mirror. FEATURES:Made out of wood with a gesso(plaster) Mediterranean leafing style design on the top"handle" and the very bottom part of this 130 year old mirror. The handle looks like the leaves are coming together to form a wreath. And the shape is an almost kidney shape where the middle curves in. Along the rest of the frame it is somewhat contoured with several fine lines, or ridges. The back has the original cardboard liner, but the vast majority of the paper backing/cover is gone. The only thing that remains is along the outer edges. There are several different types of nails that hold this mirror into the frame, some ... morelook like they come from at least 3 different time periods. There are signs on this that just can't be"faked" or duplicated without the passage of many many decades of time and looks very aged. There is an eyelet screw on each side of the mirror with 4 thin braided cords attached for hanging. By looking at this, it looks like the handle was hand-carved out of wood, as it looks very primitive with no uniformity, even the two back support wedges that hold the handle onto the mirror are very different in size. ADD. INFO: Based on the way this mirror was made. You can pretty much be sure- there were not a lot of these made.
