Vintage Oval Thick Wood Carved Framed Mirror Ornate Rose Design Antique Patina
Up for auction is this beautiful estate sale find wood framed mirror. This was purchased from an estate sale so I do not know how old it is. The frame is all wood with a very dark heavy stain. It has a carved rose and leaf pattern. Total piece measures approx 17" long and 15" wide. Frame is approx 3" wide. The mirror is a little loose in the frame due to age. Lovely antique oval mirror framed with flowers. Beading and gold color.
Just purchased this today and the seller told me she thought the frame around the mirror was chalkware? Its wood on the back so I was surprised she thought it wasn't wood. So I'm informing you of this information. I thought it was stunning the work around the outside of the frame is like gold beads and the inside next to the mirror is a gold color detailed design as well, they are not the same. The mirror measures about 18" wide by 28" tall and about 1 1/4" thick. This came off of a vanity or make up table. You can see the holes with the broken wood in them on each side. It does have a wire hanger on the back of it now. The edge of the wood has a hob nail pattern around the edge. It is in great condition for its age. Vintage Gold Framed Easel Mirror With Bows Oval
For your consideration is a lovely vintage oval easel mirror with bows embellishing the edge of the frame. There is a rope-like design on the frame where it meets the mirror. It stands 13" tall and is 10-1/2" in width. I am not sure of the material. The backing is heavy cardboard which is screwed into the back of the frame. There is printing on the back edge of the frame which I am unable to decipher. The frame has a nice patina and has areas where the gold has worn away to show a red color underneath. The mirror itself is in good vintage condition. I have enjoyed this mirror for many years but am in the process of downsizing and hoping this beautiful mirror finds a good home.
