Condition: Used Location: Springfield, United States 1740'S ENGLISH QUEEN ANNE CROTCHED MAHOGANY GENTLEMAN'S SHAVING MIRROR We take the highest pride in offering you this fabulous 1740's English ... moreQueen Anne period crocthed mahogany three drawer Gentleman's shaving mirror. This mirror is supported on two uprights that have the original brass threaded cheval bolts with decorative knobs. It has its original gold gilt gesso liner and intracately original beveled mirror glass. This is a super attractive shaving mirror with an Ogee curved profiled front to the base containing three drawers. Two of the drawers(the righ and left sides) have been professionally rebuilt and restored in addition to all the four finely crafted bracket feet. These are period accurate feet for this mirror and a sizable investment has been made in correctly restoring the base of this mirror. The piece is coming up on 300 years old and pieces don't get this age without some issues and attention being paid to them. Fortunately this was a professional restoration and not some hack repair we inhertitated and need to have addressed. But we did pay appropriately for the pleasure. One other issue worthy of mention-at some point a previous owner had installed probably brass finials with threaded rods on the tops of the uprights. We are offering the way it is. If you would like finials we would be happy to direct you to several sources for them or have something custom turned by our woodworker. This is an fantastic piece and we were lucky to obtain it. If you desire a fancy option we again will assist you but we are selling this with all its present charm. Integrity and rarity. The shaving mirror is 17" long, 8" wide and 23 1/2" tall. STUNNINGLY RARE FEDERAL PERIOD SHERATON REVERSE PAINTED EGLOMISE MIRROR WITH IMPORTANT PERIOD FRAME With our utmost pride we are simply beaming with pride to offer you one of the very finest Federal period Sheraton reverse glass painted mirror in a remarkably rare and important concaved carved and 24 karat gold leafed. This is an absolute fresh to the market circa 1810's estate gem and the very best ones to come to the market place. This came from a fine multi generational New Hampshire estate. Its subject matter is a woman extending her hand to a young girl with embellished drapery background. Its conditional is exceptional with everything you want to see in an untouched mirror. All original silvered period glass. Original brass ring hanger and a charming hand hewn and chamfered wide panel native pine back panel. The painting has some ... moretiny paint loss to the woman's cape and that's it! Well within mint period classification. It is framed in an ultra rare wood carved convexed frame especially designed to refract sunlight reflecting off its pure 24 karat gold leaf frame with gesso applied formed rosettes on each corner flanked by right and turned carved columns. This is also in a very rare large size at 16 1/2" wide and 35 1/2" tall. The only thing that was ever done with this mirror was transferring it another immediate family members home where she had new eye hooks and wire on it. The period original hanger has never been pulled loose and can easily retain this mirror. These were every nickle of $3000-$5,000 mirrors in any major important American decorative arts and furniture sale up to 2007 and they are quickly on it way back. Follow any auction of the fine auction house catalogs from 1986 up through the Fall 2006 sales. There has only been a very scarce amount of these mirrors to have come to the New England market place in the last 5 years and all realized much more than our asking price. Antique Federal Style Period Mirror Reverse on Glass Hand Painted Gold Gilt 1820
Very nice. Primitive antique Federal style wood frame mirror. Square nails visible. Reid columns, cornis top. Hand painted scene of barns, blue sky, tassels in gold gilt draped over the top. Little paint loss shown upper left. Small spot of loose veneer but can be glued. Some minor mercury mirror loss all to be expected for it's age! All in all a great early primitive antique! 21" tall by 11" wide.

ANTIQUE FEDERAL PERIOD REVERSE PAINTED MIRROR 1820s PASTORAL CASTLE CHURCH
Fine. Antique Reverse Painted Mirror from the Federal Period(1820s) The subject of the painting seems to be an old Castle/Abby in the background with a couple of men resting and/or talking beneath tree. One of the men looks to be wearing an old-style Tricorn Hat. This is in Untouched Condition having never been restored or repaired and is Very Nice as such. Only a later heavy paper board between the mirror/painting and the beveled wood back has been replaced for protection of the back side of both the mirror and the painting. It looks to be at least 50 years old, minimum. I imagine the first protective piece disentigrated long ago. The Painting is Original as well as the Mirror. They tell me it is"Of the Period" And that it is a Federal Mirror that was taken off of a Northwestern Massachusetts Federal Period house's wall. I would say it is, looking at the form, construction, and dark color on the reverse side, a period ... moreFederal mirror, ca.1820-30. Its design matches other mirrors I found in my research. That being said, please make sure you study the pictures to judge this for yourself. Note the medallions on top are leaf-like and the ones on the bottom are sunbursts with faces in the middle. Overall size: 24-1/4" wide x 37-1/4" high x 4" deep overall The gold gilt finish is crackled and has some small chips to it in most places. Aside from that. There is some loss to the gesso molding on the lower left as shown. The mirrors are older, but I think are newer than the frame. They have some minor silvering loss, mostly to the lower mirror, so I would guess perhaps 80-100 years old, give or take. Looking at the back, the old age is obvious, given the very dark color. I can see layers of evidence that this mirror was worked on over the years, including some newer nails used to keep the back boards in place. The oldest nails are very old. The panels are loose in the frame somewhat, in that they want to slide down. I think this is due to a missing bottom board on the frame(obvious in the pictures) I could add a board or simply add fasteners to secure it, but I really think I should le

Beautiful Federal style mirror. Wood appears to be walnut. Dark aged finish. Crown is adorned with acorn-shaped finials. Two separate mirrors. A name has been signed across the back.
