A stunning mirror made by top-notch London silversmith. William Comyns in a popular and very stylish fluted design almost resembling Peacock Feathers with an Art Nouveau flair. Standing on it's velvet covered easel stand, it can be packed flat for storage and travel. What makes this a particularly desirable example is the heart shaped original bevelled mirror making a very romantic choice. The silver has a full English hallmark for London 1898 and a separate maker's mark, W.C. for William Comyns. A stunning and very rare Victorian pierced ormolu dressing table mirror. When placed on a dressing table the mirror is raised on two stepped and castellated feet and supported by an ornate easel stand. Alternatively the mirror can be wall mounted by the heavy hanging ring mounted on the back of the frame. The frame has the well detailed. High relief face of Bacchus at the top, adorned with vine leafs and grapes. Centrally at the base is a stylised acanthus leaf again cast in detailed high relief. The borders of the frame are formed from an elaborate stylised in scroll form vine complete with many bunches of grapes. The two candle arms are decorated in leaves and support the original leaf shaped bobeches and candle holders. The candle holders and bobeches are removable by way of a screw fitting for ease of cleaning etc. The thick arched mirror has a deep bevelled edge and is secured by a heavy placque on the frames rear. Here is a fabulous very old Antique 19th Century Ornate Bronze Standing Dressing Table Shaving Mirror featuring Griffins. Cherubs, reticulated foliage, a torch top; all sensational. The mirror portion is tin that has aged to a bronzy patina with a foggy reflection. The easel portion has a wire replacement but does still stand. Overall measurements are 23" tall, 15" wide and the bronze is approximately 1/4" thick. Exquisite bronze work that I believe dates around 1850. This item is a truly superb 19th century Victorian style tall dressing table/ shaving mirror offering great attention to detail. The I tricately hand decorated mirror sits perfectly on it's stand. With its elaborate solid bronze fittings it really is a stunning item. This piece offers a floral design set on a black background with a central focal point depicting three exotic birds. It measures 24" high x 11" wide and the mirror is 10" in diameter. I purchased this in 2007 and just love it. This is a Vintage Italian Venetian Murana Glass Mirror.If you look carefully you will air bubbles in the scrolls. This mirror is made of thick glass. 10" tall x 9" wide. The wood is 1/2" thick. One Rosette is missing. Upper left hand side. I have added faceted glass and flat beads to blend in. See picture#4. It blends in and it looks very nice.It's a free standing mirror or can be hung on the wall. Has a hook on the back. The mirror has scrolls of clear Murano glass with glass beads and 3 large glass textured rosettes. Mounted on 1/2" thick wood with a easel back stand. Glass is clear. The mirror has an ornate Rococo style border with c-scroll and fleur-de-lys decoration. The back of the mirror and handle is covered with dark green velvet. There is a small ormolu cap to the base of the handle which is decorated with masks. Dimensions The mirror is 29.5cms tall. 15.5cms wide. Condition The mirror is in good original condition with no repairs or restorations. The both the velvet and the ormolu has wear consistent with age. Please scroll down under this description for 34 additional views. 19th century antique dressing table mirror. 23" wide across the base, 22 1/2" tall, 8" deep base. The mirror which has a gently arched top is 13 3/4" wide and 17" high. The mirror frame is veneered with a slight convex surface. The mirror supports are solid wood with rope turnings over a stacked round base and are topped with turned finials. There are three simple feet under the bombe front base. The top surface and side are veneered- lovely figuring to the walnut veneer on the top surface. I am not sure if this is the original finish but I think it is- it shows some faint alligatoring and has wonderful rich color. There is an area of veneer loss on the far left end of the base and a little ding on the back of the base behind the mirror support. A ... morebit of wood is missing from one of the supports- it's on the back side and won't be noticed. The mirror has some tiny black spots on the surface- more prevalent and noticeable on the edges. The finish has some marks and scratches but I think perfectly acceptable for the age of the piece. Romantic antique vintage tri-fold mirror for vanity or dressing table. Measures 20" high; 27" wide when open; the center panel is 10" wide. The outside panels are 8" wide. This is a heavy piece- it has wood backing- almost 14 pounds before shipping. The mirror is in very nice condition, just some minor silver loss around the edges. I didn't see any chips or cracks in the mirrors. The back panels have some minor surface cracks in the wood but it's still quite(very! sturdy.
