Very Old Wood Frame Mirror This is a fantastic antique mirror. The wood is actually in quite nice condition. The joints feel snug. There is some wear along the edges as well as some splitting that has little impact on its appearance. There is some light silver loss to the mirror. This has a wood backer board that is in place pretty snug. The hooks holding the wire on the back are newer. I think this originally had eye hooks on the exterior ends of the frame. There are small holes on opposite sides. The frame is rather thick and heavy. The wood is walnut or oak with a very dark slightly glossy finish, the finish is probably not original, but is in good condition with some scuffs, scratches, and minor chipping, mainly along corners and edges. Antique Jacobean Gothic Wood Carved Eagle Type Gargoyle& Swirls. Framed Wall Mirror is up for auction. This framed wall mirror is very unusual which I had purchased about 10- twenty years ago from a very interesting home In Scarsdale N. Y. of Gothic& Jacobean furniture& accessories. The frame is hand carved with this fabulous eagle(Gargoyle type) spreading it's wings front& top center surrounded by swirls. Fern& flowers. The vintage mirror is very good quality& I do believe it has been replaced& packing tape was used to keep it in place instead of the usual nails. It does need a hook to hang it. It looks English to me& the wood has a dark stain on it so I cannot tell what kind of wood it is. Dimensions: Frame size- 32" wide x 20" tall x 1" deep This is a wonderful decorative item for some ... moreone looking for the unusual with character. I will also be putting on a Jacobean Gothic Type shelf the same style from the same home with a gargoyle holding it up- in a couple of days. Thank you for looking! Up for your consideration is this vintage-antique wall mirror with a dark brown wood framed. Condition is very good with minor age showing. Some slight scratches on the mirror barely noticeable and the frame also has a some slight loss of paint/stain in areas. Overall it is a beautiful piece. Very heavy item.
